    27:58 That creative part reminds me of playing with your food at the dinner table. Hope she come back to the show.

    Thank you very much. This is the first time since I was happy to learn to teach kids to love healthy food, from Antonia Demas, PhD.
    She included planting, growing and harvesting, before cooking.
    I will add this wonderful lady to my list of awesome people.

    I love this. I often teach my clients how to eat real food instead of craps. I don’t like the way parents around me telling their kids what to like and not to like to eat. If we introduce food to our kids, let them judge for themselves what they like. I gave my 1 yr old nieces & nephews taste of my homemade kimchi and kidney beans spam before their parents give them the real spam. Now that they’re older, most of them still prefer my kidney beans spam to the real thing. It’s more flavorful than just salty crappy porky spam. Some like it so much they asked for my recipe to make themselves. Allowing kids to taste real food and real flavors is important.

      Seriously, I do NOT understand how children become PICKY EATER'S! When I fed my son's from breast milk, cooking oatmeal, bananas, etc,! Neither one of my sons are PICKY EATERS, they LOVE EVERYTHING and like ME, SAMPLE different culture's! It's how I raised them, and they are like me! For they ENJOY MOST if not ALL CURCINES!

    32:06 So true! Growing up I "hated" Brussel Sprouts. It was the only downside of celebrating birthdays: A Year older means one more Brussel sprout you have to "down" when it is served.
    My mom cooked it as my dad liked: at least 45 min. and they turned brown and stinky. It wasn/t untill I lived on my own I accedentely found out that, if you cook them for 5-7 minutes, the are de-licious!

      My mum (daughter of a wholesale greengrocer)also cooked Brussels sprouts beautifully still green and with plenty of "bite" so I could never understand why so many people claimed to hate them.

    I recently created a cooking course for teenagers, I would love to share it through your platform. I think it’s so important that our children learn how to eat healthy in an early age.

    Generally meals were served. There wasn’t seconds necessarily and no generally they wouldn’t get more rice if the rest of their dinner was eaten. When serving I would decide portion sizes according to preference but as you say everything went on the plate. I never had fussy children. Their taste buds were not adulterated with junk food and sweets.
    I’ve had children with food issues come and stay so I let them make up the menus. I’d put lists of types of food and ask them to choose a food from each list. We had some weird combinations but we all ate it. The target child had ownership of the menu and it worked.
    All my children, boys and girls cook for their family and my son and his wife encourages the children to cook and bake.

    I am one of the few parents who did NOT have issues getting my sons to eat healthy! THEY EAT EVERYTHING! I believe its because I expose them to many foods, taking them out to restaurant's, etc. One of my sons today, LOVES his fresh veggies, to the point whereby he can eat them RAW, but I encourage him to at least steam them for a few minutes, if only to ensure that the bugs are gotten rid of and washing off the chemicals that may have been used to prolong the life of the produce.
    From young children, I ALWAYS kept fresh fruits on the table and always cooked fresh veggies! I WAS JUST LUCKY, I GUESS?
    I have three grandchildren and they are NOT picky eaters either! ( - ; ( - ;
    HAHAHAHA, another Rebecca Johnson, what a coincidence!

      Same here. Children didn’t know anything else. They also helped prepare and cook. We also baked together but cakes and biscuits were not everyday food. We savoured meal times. Lots of talking and laughter. My grand children eat everything too.

      @@annefricker8474 I came from super POOR, whereby most of our meals consisted mostly of BEANS & VEGGIES! Heck Fat Back was a TREAT for us with syrup & biscuit! My brothers use to work on farms, supplying us with fresh fruits and Veggies! i HONESTLY BELIEVE its why at the age of 75 I am in the decent health I am in, but because of my SMOKING have caused the COPD that I am suffering today! But overall, my physical health is strong, other than when I try to do too much whereby, I lose my breath!
      Years ago, I realized, because we could NOT AFFORD to eat MEATS on a daily/weekly basis, IS the reason why My body is still as strong as it is! and the very reason why I always kept fresh fruits & veggies in my home TODAY! YES, I am still cooking from scratch, but do enjoy some fast foods that I do not have to prepare like subs and pizza's, even though I try to make them at home! ( - ; ( - ;
      I DO NOT EAT BEANS AS OFTEN, BUT THEY ARE STILL ON MY MENU ESPECIALLY WHEN I BAKE A HAM! ( - ; Talk about some awesome tasting brown beans! ( - ;
      To this DAY, if anything is left on my plate, its always the MEAT, the VEGGIES are the 1st to go!

    Is this what it has come to in the US. Kids not eating real food or with the family. A national catastrophe of a privileged country.
