Absolutely. Especially it is more difficult to learn a brand new language, I mean you learn a kind of language which is from different language family when compared to your mother language. I’m a Chinese, and factually I’m learning English. Sometimes I find the process is frustrating.

To be honest, it's so captivating how languages are working. Like when you learn new languages you also know your own too, so always when you heard something in language that you learn and you understand it even a little bit it brings me some thoughts like wow how the brain is working. You can understand one word in different languages, whole phrase in different languages and it is so unusually fascinating

In answer to the initial "why?" question. I accidentally discovered Western classical music on the radio at age 9 and was hooked for life. That drove me to dig deeper, so in high school a few years later, I did 4 years of French and German. Numerous benefits. Unfortunately, most everyone here in California, except many Latinx folks and immigrants, only speaks one language so I never get to practice with other people. To keep my languages basically alive, I do sundry things like reading Quora out loud in French and German plus attending stream media in those languages. Due to lack of direct practice, my two-way conversational skills are weak. On rare occasions speaking French with someone, my brain may insert a German word when I've forgotten the French word for something and vice versa. These days, what I really need is Spanish, and I should do that.

From My view point , there are many reasons why some people are keen on learning new language , the first and foremost, daily life is based on communication that means the world of communication interferes in every aspect of our lives Like ,trading and education . Secondly , these days, most people are interested in immigration .Then, If they can’t speak foreign language, they won’t be successful.
In conclusion, by and large people spend a great deal of time on learning and studying foreign language because of the complexity of communication and immigration.
