I saw a handmade Persian rug at the flea market. It is definitely handmade, because of all the weird knots on back. The design on front is beautiful, with almost a South American feel to me, having animals and repeating patterns. I just don't know if it's real.
Very informative. I have 2 carpets, one hand made and one machine made in similar colors, but over the years have forgotten which was which. I’m hoping that after watching your video I’ll be able to figure it out. 😊
Machine made cannot be folded many ways hand made is softer and can be bent twisted folded into small squares no matter what length and it won’t Damage the rug but machine made will get damaged when you fold it twist it and press it into peices
Thanks for making this info available. Can you tell me anything about a master rug maker named Mahmoud Akbaroff from Esfahan? My mother has a rug with his signature, it was purchased around 1960 in Iran.
very good video . clear and concise with excellent delivery .
Glad it was helpful!
The rug behind you in this video is STUNNING!
Great vid - very clear and informative 👍
Very good information. Thank you. Could share what kind of rug is the one behind you. Where is it made and if it is antique Persian rug? ❤

Look at the knots, if they're different sizes, it's hand knotted.

My husband purchased a rug when he was in Tabriz, Iran. I’m wanting to sell it. Do you have any tips on getting what it is worth?

Really good, important, non-pretentious presentation. I need red dominant approximately 7/ 8x6 foot rug. Used condition is fine. $1000 to spend. Good?
Free shipping
There is nothing like a fine Persian carpet to anchor a room. Mine is in the music room, my favourite place for one.
Could do without the background sound distraction annoying
Noted, thanks for the feedback
Why can't a persian rug be machine made?
Hand knotted is what makes Persian rugs authentic.
