I'm so glad you to hear that! Yes that's a great point, the rug weavers skills and experience is an important component in creating high quality Persian rugs as well.
Thank you so much for this very informative, & detailed video! Incredibly well done, appreciate your efforts to inform those of us who are trying to understand more. 👍
Thank you so much. I just purchased a used wool rug, and im thinking i should have watched you first so i could have been more discerning in my pick. Now, i need to have it cleaned. Im trying to figure out what is the best method to clean it. Its a thick pile and very dirty. I will vacuum it a lot but im thinking i should also wash it with a hose. Is that correct?
Hi, I'm so thankful for your efforts. And I would like to know more about types of knots that made for making rugs and how to examine it. All the best for you 💐
I brought a rug, the field navy and the design is vases and urns of flowers. The design goes in one direction. The border is flat flower tops with a burgundy background and something that looks like might be birds. The back of the border, has retailer name, "Quality Rugs by Jerrehian Brothers". Is it Persian hand msde.
I had my rug cleaned by the people I brought it from, the cream color now looks grey. I was so disappointed and don’t know what to do about now. spell edit
I have a few rugs from Isfahan problem with real Persian rugs is cleaning them. If you have kids and pets buy throw away rugs so you don’t cry when they get things on it lol.
I have some Persian rugs that I need to sell, .. hate to do it, but, I’m going through some issues that may not be able to keep it at the moment..😢. I need a help to know how much I can sell those hugs.. Thank you for your videos! I’m in almost central Florida.. who can I ask for, please? Thank you
Straightness is not really that relevant to me, actually I prefer it not to be perfectly straight to give the look of a real handmade piece. My favorite rug that I hold is a tribal Berber and it is quite uneven but in my opinion is my most valuable piece. It just feels spontaneous, it is pure feeling without a meticulous planning this a bit what art is about. From Persia I hold a Shiraz which is also has some flaws but it absolutely stunting and it is probably my second favorite piece.
90% of carpet dealers will maintain the rug you are interested has been dyed with natural dyes. This is simply not true. The only way to tell the difference between them and chromatic dyes is to have it tested in a lab.

Is it possible to send you a picture of a rug for an estimate? You just see if it's real Persian or not?
Thank you!

Thank you! It's just so expensive to buy these rugs in America due to sanctions. So the majority ends up being "Oriental."

Who's signature is it?
The signatures are the name of the workshops or master weavers
