The water lettuce I got from you two years ago multiplied so fast my pond was awesome. Bred the most fish ever that year. Makes for great compost add for the pile too.
do dwarf water lettuce need light i only have 12 watt led lights
@@kingpin7610 they need full spectrum light. If your in Brooklyn I have plenty
I have been wanting water lettuce for a few years now, but I can't ever find it in stock anywhere. I love the look of the roots in the aquarium! And I'm sure my aquarium has plenty of food for this plant! 🤭
Update 4/20/20 - I finally ordered my water lettuce!!! Yay!!! 😁
from where?
@@etyrnal ebay sellers are plenty
12 for 9.99 but they grow really fast.
@@didostempest2966 I got mine off amazon but they seam to not be doing that well I got 2-3 of them for free with my order of red root floaters but the leaves are melting off all my top water plants.
I found some at a petco! 50 cents for a handful I jumped on them lol
@@Alleycat041 i got mine for free as it went into the fish bag when i got my betta
This plant grows in all of my tanks, and it grows like wild fire.
I loved my Dwarf Water Lettuce in mi 1.5 gallon Betta tank. It kept him so happy and healthy.
It seems like you really care about your betta, but I would get him atleast a 3 gallon tank, 5 gallons would be preferred though.
I just found your channel. WOW! I'm really amazed by the amount of information and personal experience sharing in less than 10mins. Really, good job! Cheers man

Good video bud. I can grow frogbit and duckweed but have struggled with water lettuce.
Very nice video on dwarf water lettuce this looks really nice awesome plant there , how easy is it to grow these plants?
I find they like blue in the light spectrum. Mine grow massive in tanks with blue spectrum

So I have this plant red root floaters and another floating plant well they are losing leaves and many of them have been developing holes in there leaves. What is that about do they not have enough nutrients my tank isnt cy led yet but I consistently have 5ppm nitrates 1ppm ammonia. And 0ppm nitrites. Non of my floating plants are doing to well. But I have a good amount of red and green cabomba I have to trim it and replant once a week or every other week. They are growing so fast. I also have red flame moss which has gotten about 3.5 inches tall and I've trimmed one 2x2 patch of it so far down to 1.5 inches so we could see inside it better with the shrimp loving to hide in it. I have 3 Amazon swords but they dont seam to be growing very well they do have a bunch of brown algae growing on them. It's that or they arent getting enough light. Idk. I plan on scrubbing them off carefully tomorrow with a kids toothbrush see if I can get them growing better. And if not I'm going to remove them and get more flame moss.
Mine are shrinking, roots dropping and are barely existing for some reason. Happened before and miraculously started growing again and was so excoted. Then they started dying again. I can't figure out why. Very little water movement. I've taken the lid off even though they came back with the lid. Salvinia is still growing. I dose easy green and leaf zone. I had started leaf zone just prior to them coming back but have continued it so now I don't know what's up
💯👍👍
Would a HoB filter suck up floating plants?
do the plants need any extra liquid fertilizers ?
How do you tell water lettuce from frogbit?
I have these and my problem is that their roots are falling like crazy. What is the solution for this?
Is it in stock?
low light ok like a stock led light on a 20l thanks
Would this help with algae growth? My lights may be a bit too much and algae is becoming a problem
Hi yes it will help with algae growth they will eat up the nutrients that cause algae and they will provide shade so less algae good luck.
Emma.
my water lettuce keep dying in my aquarium..sooo frustrating...what should i do...i put my aquarium inside my room..also i put led light on it...from 6pm to 6am...but still dying and melting...
Mine do the same. I live in the UK and I don't have tropical fish, only cold water Medaka. I think these plants need warmer temperatures and more direct light. I even bought fertilizer and follow dosage. I'm not having much luck.
Why are the ones I just bought turning yellow?! 🙁
Mine are shedding leaves and leaves turning yellow but new plant like chain also comming what to do leaves shredding some turned yellow
Omg same, have u found the problem
I can never get mine to grow it just shrinks... Then disappears.
Try closing the lid they like the humidity and prevent the leaves from getting wet
hey not sure if this message would be seen but I need some help... I just recently bought some and I have placed them into my tank... however the roots are falling off and leaves are turning yellow it's only been 3 days since having it... help?
Whats your tank setup like? Just plants or fish as well as plants? Temp? Got an air rock going?
@@_Carlos my tank is bare bottom with filter and heater. I use to have a lid but I removed it and it has gotten better. the leaves look fine, just don't have the roots anymore.
I ordered some dwarf water lettuce and I got them today I have a 20 gallon tank with tiger barbs that don't like too much light.
I have a spectrum light.
They were wrapped in a wet paper.
I know nothing about these so I just carefully placed them in my aquarium. It was about five of them very delicate.
I noticed that one of the roots were floating not connected to the plant and my tiger barb ate it. Sucked it right up I hope it's not going to hurt my tiger barb.
Is there anything I'm supposed to do besides put them in my aquarium.
Can you plant them in the substrate or do they have to be used only as floaters ?
Just watch the f#$@in video man.
My dwarf water lettuce is melting and turning yellow. I have a light specifically for growing plants. The cover is pretty tight so I could leave a little gap. But is there any fertilizer I should by to help them recover?
Tropica is good. Orange one if you got enough nitrates and green if you don’t
Mine are yellow :c
Why are mine turning yellow
Low nutrition and or low light
eBay 🤜🤛
Duckweed is annoying
