    I saw a big smile when you turned round to grab your course work, ☺, a good sign, 👍.
    Very comprehensive, ref what you have shared todate on the TM CPC course, did you cost the decorating at home using your newly learnt knowledge 😉 😀?
    Excellent and informative Hayley, as others have commented, just accept the FPN, or use your newly found knowledge to calculate costs to appeal, could be a real case example 😀.
    Great video Hayley, quite a few hats to wear, more homework 😀.

    Blindside reversing and out of a tight doorway at that, nicely done, I'm just starting my C1 career and working through normal reversing, blindside in open spaces is a long way off for me as it feels alien at the mo, but your pointers in a previous vid was helpful and has helped me pick up faster.

    You are doing the correct process with your own notes. It will all come together then the world is your oyster. Great thing about this qualification is you have people that are happy to turn up to work, jump in a company provided vehicle with no insurance, tax or other running costs and moan about their lot.
    This gives you a great understanding of how a company actually runs and its realistic costs. Also beneficial if you want to set up on your own.

    I agree, it's not worth it. you'll technically lose more money having a day off then paying the fine, with the chance of incurring more costs for the court. sometimes, its best to bite the bullet.

    I don't blame you Hayley. My sister-in-law's the same as well. She can't stand driving through road works especially where there are temporary traffic lights that are usually on Stop longer than the conventional variety that we as a nation are no doubt accustomed to the use of and have been for decades.

    A few years ago, I got caught up in gridlock on M6. After it cleared I went to next services which was full, so parked up on exit with several others. After about 10 min a cop banged the door and told me "Drive' you cant park here. Motorway regulations. If over hours go to next safe/legal area."
    I replied " I am very tired. I need a 30 min powernap"
    Cop replied "ok fair enough, don't be here after 30 min"

    First off, ironically where your video finished on the opposite side is where I had my 'brush' with the Police as I unfortunately sideswiped a Police officer, (not my fault! Honest) in an undercover car. Not published yet! Typical of GMP to send you a letter covered with blood! I watched the end time lapse at quarter speed, to enjoy the route and to see if I passed you anywhere. I knew what was coming, Greenfield station junction, as soon as you went right off the A635. If you had followed the A635 it would have brought you onto the same road but a mile further back. The TM course, the things I struggled with was the costings, it was miles, as Kilometres had not been invented back then! 🤣🤣 Great video Hayley and don't fret the course work will become more understandable as you start to think as a manager where every decision you make could be career ending! Sorry about that but it's actually true. All the best.

    Hi Hayley, some of the topics you are covering in your TM CPC are similar to what I covered with my Farm records and accounts course years ago, depreciation, running costs etc. My daughter is good with maths and she came in as you were reading out your task figures and said if I had those figures written down I could probably do that😂😂 she is 14 and is aiming to get her C+E licence when she is old enough, me I will stay driving, can't stand being stuck indoors

    Reversing is getting perfect. Regarding the parking fine, just pay it and move on. As long as you don’t get points. If you go to court it could escalate and you have to pay court costs.

    Hi Hayley, sorry to hear about your predicament with the slip road stop and the interaction with the constable. 2 points. Firstly. The notice of intended prosecution is provided in law so as to “ remind “ a person that a certain offence took place at a certain time at a certain location with a certain vehicle. The NIP letter has to be served on the driver OR the owner or registered keeper of the vehicle within 14 days. However, where the alleged offence is brought to the attention of the driver AT THE TIME of the offence the NIP is given verbally by the constable, no 14 day requirement here. Secondly….the offence that is alleged in your case does not fall within the requirements of the issuing of an NIP. An NIP is not required here. This is a summary non endorsable offence .There won’t be a record on your driving licence …just put this into your experience folder.
    If you type in to Google offences that do require an NIP they are easy to find and include “ dangerous driving, failing to conform to certain traffic signs and signals, speeding etc.
    Take care Hayley, keep honing your craft..hope this helps with your decision making .
    Kind regards
    Phil

    Sorry to hear about the ticket. Best pay up and damn their impudence. If you take it to court they will find you guilty and add costs to the penalty. I'm wondering if all the foreign truckers get the same treatment for parking in the same circumstances and under the motorway bridges. Probably not as there is a language barrier and they can't be easily chased for non payment. Thanks for the update on the TM CPC course.

    Yeah i'm afraid you got to bite the bullet and pay. I parked on the slip road at woolly edge years ago (along with four other trucks) and got a fixed penalty, £30 at the time, I explained to the officer I couldn't get in the services and the only parking was in the coach park, which has 'no parking and fixed penalty' signs all over it, he said I should have parked there and still issued a ticket, you can't win!. Amazing that they don't hassle the foreign registered trucks but target us, guess its because they know the ticket just gets lobbed out the window the minute they get going..😄

    As you say it might not be worth the hassle, but there might be a technicality to be found here as I wouldn't call where you stopped the Hard shoulder, it was hatched markings, that doesn't mean you were aloud to park there, you shouldn't have crossed the solid white line, but it might be worth looking in to.
    If you are finding the long distance boring it might be worth trying working for a pallet network. I know most people don't like the idea of multidrop, but it will keep you local, there will be plenty of variety in your day, but also plenty of regular drops so its not all new customers and not knowing what you are doing, and where you are going.
    Also I have my Hiab license, mostly working for building suppliers, again keeps you pretty local, doing your own deliveries with the crane is more interesting than just driving, and its mostly residential deliveries which it keeps you on your toes, no where near as boring as 3 hours on the same stretch of motorway. There will be some building site work which I know you have said you don't like, but it's honestly not that much as they tend to use the larger suppliers and buy in bulk.
    I still work for an agency so I switch between class 1 and class 2 Hiab, and I like the variety of that.
    I was just down the road from Onboard yesterday morning at Watery Lane Industrial Estate and saw 3 Onboard trucks, but didn't spot you unfortunately, I was keeping an eye out though. Love the videos, your doing a great job!

    Next time you’re pulled over by any authority Haley make sure you film everything, covertly if possible.
    If the police officer actively encouraged you to break tacho laws which are in place to PREVENT catastrophic accidents due to tiredness, then that should be entered into evidence for a court to hear.

    • @kasncouriers7747
      @kasncouriers7747 2 роки тому +1

      That rule about covert filming applies to organisations, not private individuals so you can film covertly and it be admissible as long as you are in a public space at the time. The officer however, is representing an organisation so has to tell you that you are being filmed for evidential purposes. They tend to get a bit uppity about being filmed (depending on the officer, there are some who know and understand your right to film them and some who really don't!) so covertly can save you some hassle. But they cannot legally stop you filming them, you can report them and claim a tiny bit of compensation if they do.

    • @kasncouriers7747
      @kasncouriers7747 2 роки тому +1

      @slimeyclimey1 If you are recording as an organisation, then whatever the situation, you are bound by the relevant legislation, so yes, absolutely best advised to keep to both the spirit and letter of the law. However, as a private individual, using a private device (ie own phone) who happens to be at work at the time, you are not recording on behalf of your employer, your employer doesn't and won't own the data, so you are governed by the same rules as you would be if you were outside your house on a Sunday morning. But when dealing with the authorities, you have no duty to declare if you're recording. That said, I'm not a solicitor and am not aware of the cases you mention which have been affected by covert filming. That said, I would imagine it has more to do with dishing out threats etc from what you put in your comment? Also, as fines and other enforcement costs are considered personal responsibility (ie you can't offset your parking fine against tax if you're self employed), even for an owner driver like me, it's me, personally, recording my interaction with the officer not my company. If however, your company has a policy that if you're pulled over you must record your interaction and hand over the video, then you are representing your organisation and covert recording would be either inadmissible or detrimental to a future case. But in either case, if you are in a public space, you can record anything you can see - even into someone's living room - without breaking any laws.

    • @Bambitheman45
      @Bambitheman45 2 роки тому

      As long as you are in a public place you can film. There is no requirement in law to tell anyone you are filming.
      If you get tugged again for having to do the same Do a DAILY Print from the tacho and have the officer sign the back stating they are moving you on. Generally that shuts them up quicker than anything else because if you were to be involved in an RTC after them moving you on the officer can become liable... It also satisfies the ministry.
