- Twisters Movie Explained - Here is my spoiler review and breakdown of Twisters. A film that is perfectly watchable and entertaining while also feeling incredibly familiar and hollow. It's a copy of Twister with the same character traits, plot points and even the RAM truck. I break down Twisters while walking the corn field, as one does.

First one was special... That year, those "first time seeing" VFX, Van Halen's awesome songs, the cast, the way that story unfolds... Everything about the original movie was special.
You’re right since they actually shot Glen and Daisy kissing at the end but chose to cut it. From the director, “I feel like audiences are in a different place now in terms of wanting a kiss or not wanting a kiss. I actually tried the kiss, and it was very polarizing - and it’s not because of their performance of the kiss. This [no-kiss shot] was the other option that I had filmed on the day, and I got to say, ‘I like it better. I think it’s a better ending.'”
Probably because the woman lead was shown to just be able to fall in love with whatever d-bag comes along. I mean she literally knew nothing about the guy, he just rolls up in a beat up truck and suddenly she's in love apparently. It was so weird. What happens when an even BIGGER d-bag shows up? Is GP's character chopped liver at that point? It's ridiculous.
That is just sad. Then again, these characters and actors are so nondescript and milquetoast, I wouldn't want to see them together. Or apart. I would actually like to see real actors, but that is my problem, I guess.
You're way too invested in this film, it's actually kinda sad
They should have KISSED! But the female lead was such a boring character. I saw little chemistry between the leads. Glen Powell is ripped yet no obligatory shirtless scene. No sex shown or implied…. So much lost potential. This movie was just a little bit too impotent. But good storm scenes and people getting sucked into the twisters.
I liked it better without a kiss. It seemed more genuine based on their interactions throughout the film. A kiss between a male and female lead at the end of every film is "Hollywood" and predictable.
I think is unfair that you dont have more followers your channel is amazing bro
Dude, I said the same thing to my wife! When Katie's mom was walking out from the hallway shadow I thought for sure that was going to be Helen Hunt. They really dropped the ball on that one.
Great review Adam and the on-location shoot works a treat 👍
Just watched Twisters in the cinema today and it is just an ok plot. They already touched El Reno in the movie, the location of the worst tornado in history that killed legendary Mr Samaras. They should have watched the documentary cause that’s more scarier plot than this movie. That rain wrap tornado is the one that killed MR Samaras. The triangle sequence to get data is a big climax already. They should have gotten the data but the main characters got killed. And the other 2 groups will have their own chase but ended up them getting the run for their lives just like in the documentary. One got their windshield cracked and hit by tumbleweed, while the other got chased by tornado after they drove into an eerie yellow sky ominous calm. They should have dedicated this movie to the Twistex team. Back to the movie, that fire tornado is out of place cause it was in a geothermal plant or something. Fire tornado usually happens in hot wildfire in the outback or fields. Also, I totally understood the drill but the window of the truck didn’t even cracked. It’s better than Tesla armored vehicle I guess lol! Overall, it’s a nice movie because glen powell carried it well but the storyline could be better. Please check out the Twistex documentary and I can assure you that these weather scientists slash chasers are sacrificing themselves in the name of science. Rip Tim and Paul Samaras and Carl Young of Team Twistex!
You read my mind of missing the opportunity for a HH cameo! I was so hoping for that! However…I did catch several small nods to Twister. Some are so minor, but they are there. The one thing I missed was the cast dynamic that you get with Twister! It just wasn’t the same…..but a good movie and my kids loved it! I think it opened up a new window for the younger generations, who didn’t see Twister, to watch it…..b/c that’s exact what we did after seeing the new version! 😂
Twister: The Force Awakens
The cast look like the extras from Twilight Saga and Vampire Diaries. Do all Hollywood actors these days come out the same nondescript mold...
Loved you review Adam, as always! loved the edition and the landscape shots as well, great job. I hope your channel keeps growing. Blessings.
Still got the original on VHS.
To tag on your title... "It's the same movie... BUT WORSE!"
You just gave away the entire movie. I think that's the point. Loved it! Awesome!
Look i'm just happy they were able to put the classic it's twister time line in the movie and then the twisters twisting all over the place, truly a movie
what's with the random inserts of long and middle-range shots of you just walking? Lmao. Love your channel bro.
this review realized its full potent
You are so funny! Nothing can beat the original Twister! 😊
I agree.
Beautiful cornfield, beautiful audio, beautiful video, beautiful man 🤌
I watched the original one and I like it and when I saw the trailers… I already know it’s a remake.
Hit: same color truck but new model.
As a Tornado Nerd, Twisters is less, and more accurate at the same time it has amazing radar and tornadoes but the totnado science is...not necessarily the most accurate you cant really stop a nado and the firenado cant really happen cause tornadoes are rain, anyways the vehicle Tyler Drives, the drills are fairly accurate but it isnt exactly a interceptor, its more a truck with drills, so it would probably fly up into the air so yeah sorry I wrote the script for a documentry lol now im done
What is it like? Putting your camera on the ground in a cornfield and walking by waving your hands, mumbling to yourself. Did they try to lock you up in the funny farm?
It be funny if someone saw him going into the cornfield and yelling "Hey you nut! Get out of my cornfield!".
Great review as always.
Beautiful scenery. Enjoy the vacation
Love your videos Adam seriously man always look forward 2 seeing your material! Thank you!
Twister has better music and a better cast. I also like the cinematography more on twister. I’d give Twisters a 5 out of 10 and Twister a 7 out of 10.
I'm with you on Helen Hunt.
Lots of foliage. Did all of you know that Adam's first job was as a corn detassler? Ol' Adam Bear returning to his roots on this review.
What a richly colorful intro!
I loved the stuff with Aunt Meg in the original. Did they try anything similar in this one? Either way, thank you for the review Adam!
A lot of the audience really wanted them to kiss at the end. I think they will end up doing some theatrical cut with the kiss at the end.
This movie is impossible.
It positivity portrays a UA-camr.
THAT is IMPOSSIBLE.
Positively? 😂
Minari, the director’s prior film, is a really good family drama, so I was hoping this would be more distinctive than the average blockbuster but it doesn’t sound like it is
Sounds more like they tried to add cloud seeding versus just storm chasing. Always thought those little devices in the first twister was just gana fall out the sky lol... And yes reviews outside is a thing if you can find a location that matches the film your review by any stretch would be cool
Loved the deer fly❤😂
That makes one of us
I thought the movie hovered somewhere between good and okay, however I was extremely unimpressed with the sound design. For a disaster/monster movie it was weaksauce.
Hollywood did nothing to change the formula. This movie shouldn't earn money
It absolutely is a remake. The story is 90% identical.
People are calling for Glenn Powell to be the new Batman, and I hate that idea. Random tangent over.
Best looking review on Utube!
The only thing I like about the original one was the oil tanker scene
Twisters isn't bad by any means, but I just found it very blah. It's a rehash of the original, but the charisma between the characters just isn't as strong. But yeah, I didn't hate the movie at all. I just literally got nothing out of it.
Adam u are so funny, lol... When u shorten your words 😂
2:55😂😂😂😂
The new twisters is noway near as good as the old 1996 twister. The old movie had that spielberg, frank marchall
Kahtleen kendy magic they had in 80s and 90s.Sorry the new one was disapointing noway near as engaging as 1996 twister.
Thought it was great. Nods to the original fully in place, I think all of those similarities are the point. They wanted to bring the same story to a new audience with a modern twist. It’s not going to be as good as the original, bar is way too high, but I believe they accomplished what they were going for.
I loved it.
You just touched on something I realized was missing and have been perplexed by it. There is no more sex or physical contact in movies - occasionally a peck or a cold hug. At first I thought it was COVID that changed things, and it has, and then I heard that METOO sort of did because of all the "intimacy coordinators" that we have now. But then you said it - young people, who apparently don't want to have sex or even be in person or present with other people (social media, phones) to the point where no movies are completely sanitized. I am not saying we should go back to the 80s where everything was T&A and nakedness for its sake, but even at 56, I still like a little human contact and sensuality on screen. I like when people actually make me "believe" that they are in a relationship and actually LIKE each other. There is very little chemistry onscreen anymore. Maybe that is my problem, but it is a shame. Then again, I didn't grow up with my head in a phone or always wearing headphones or always glued to video and social media.
I mean to be fair PG-13 s*x is the worst kind. It's hyper stylized and almost soft-core level. Makes me roll my eyes every time I see it on the screen, especially in young adult movie adaptations.
Check out Glen Powell’s last movie, Anyone But You, and tell us movies are sanitized 😂
Ummm did you not see Poor Things? Shoulda had an NC-17 rating.
I just watched it and it was horrible. Bad acting, bad music..
bg looks like green screen
I just recently watch the old twister, but I liked this one better. Its drags on a little long and the plot with the corporation kinda sucks, but I thought this one was more fun with new cgi and more insane antics.
This video is too corny. I am up to my ears in bad puns. Unappealing stuff on corn here.
The Suck Zone.
Not a poorly made movie or anything and I'm glad that the director left out the politics but it's just so forgettable. I'm not saying the 90s movie is some epic masterpiece, but it had a charm and there's a reason why people still talk about that movie.
Oh my God, that ending alone sounds terrible. I'm gonna pass haha.
Thanks Adam! I was really let down by twisters. Saw it in imax with ok sound. There was very strange pacing, editing, disjointed and directionless. Only with a crew of boring mouth breathers. And roided up square headed fellow in a cowboy hat who probably cant even squat on the pot, much less run from twister. Couldnt get through this one, sorry.
I don’t want to watch the knockoff of a better movie.
First
Great review, I shall not watch this regardless.
All these movies they are remaking are essentially the same movie…. but made for gen Z 🤮
Star Wars for gen z
Gladiator for gen z
Twister for gen z
Top Gun for gen z
Aliens for gen z
Puke 🤮
Alien romulus looks really good though
So many scenes were copied lol
Twisters is better than the original. I enjoyed it at the theater
No and no
Looks boring
It was incredibly boring.
I'm very disappointed in your viewers. No one seemed to pick up on the "tornadoes suck" pun I left in your last video.
Maybe it was too corny? Lol
Yup, they both blew & whatever was left of intelligence & taste was drained out of the mindless “I don’t want to learn no nuthin’” theater-goers.
This movie is trash. The acting is trash. The script is trash. I liked Madame Web more than this movie. I don't understand how people are loving this movie. If this is all it takes to get a bunch of "summer blockbuster of the year!" reviews, then we have already fallen as a society.
It is not the same movie. Stop being lazy. Is it possible for critics to not compare things. These movies, Dune 1 and 2, Mad max movies, etc.
Oy vey, please grow up. It is the same movie - maybe producers and moviemakers should STOP begin lazy. You too. How about discovering new things or actually watching the old ones before you comment. Btw, the new Dune movies are about as trash as the old ones. Just your generation doesn't mind crap.
🤦♂️🤡
Lazy also. I saw each movie. Don't he sheep and follow the crowd.
LOL come on now, it's basically a rinse and repeat movie with small changes. Of course, people are going to compare them, and the studio could've done a movie about tornados with no connection to the 1996 movie, but they took the name and went with it for nostalgia.
