What makes this funny is that Sparks is a sociopath, so it's really hard to tell if he's being sincere or if he's just really pulling Debbie's chains.

CrazyBlackDragon Sparks is being an idiot, that’s not what the book’s about.

@@sparkly21 Have you read it? Its a satirical plan to deal with the poor by letting lower class women render their children into meat and leather for the upper classes.

@They Live! Again. It was a response to the Irish potato famine( caused by the British) and the callous mentality regarding it, Swifts point was to basically take societies mentality to its most extreme to shine light on it.

    • @dabblerdeluxe775

@They Live! Again. Is that what they teach in the U.K?
The most glaring cause of the famine was not a plant disease, but England's long-running political hegemony over Ireland. The English conquered Ireland, several times, and took ownership of vast agricultural territory. Large chunks of land were given to Englishmen. the Irish had no rights to the land they worked or to any improvements they might make. Only in areas dominated by Protestants did tenant farmers have any rights over their capital improvements. With the landlords largely residing in England, there was no one to conduct systematic capital improvements.
The Irish suffered from many famines under English rule. Like a boxer with both arms tied behind his back, the Irish could only stand and absorb blow after blow. It took the "many circumstances" of English policy to create the knockout punch.

@They Live! Again.Everyone fought the British empire just like they did the Romans, being weaker than someone doesn't make your repression morally justified. Famines and massacres, slavery I'm sure you could continue to argue that its ok because the British could do it, and if the Irish, Indians or anyone else didn't want to die they should of just fought harder.
By your standards, morality doesn't exist.
Might is right so rape, pillage and sell the captives like livestock.
This is the very reason Swift wrote a Modest proposal in response to that very mentality.
in other words, you are a piece of shit that

My favorite is Archer S3E6 "The Limited". Cyril is talking to the prisoner, "Well, there's me, and Lana, and don't forget about Archer." "The drunk guy?!" "Well, he may seem drunk but he's..." Lana: "STILL DRINKING?!"

For real, I think there’s a general denial of it’s existence over in Ireland though, I was taking a tour of the castle in Kilkenny, the tour guide brought up something about Jonathan Swift, I started talking about A Modest Proposal, he seriously acted like he had no idea what I was talking about.

Sealab 2021 was the first of a series of shows where they took old Hannah Barbara assets and edited them to be funnier, and re-recorded the voices. So yeah the video is edited Sealab 2020 to fit a new script, with new voices. Saturday Morning Tuesdays podcast had a guest host who worked there and explained it all.
