Yebba is that rare artist who sounds absolutely incredible live. Ever since listening to her Tiny Desk concert, this song has been on repeat in my brain. Specifically her LIVE. I find that it surpasses this version by leaps and bounds.
Once again, it’s a rare occurrence where an artist sounds phenomenal live.

It’s just her vocally ability and agility INSANE. The way she does her runs so fast and the high notes with ease 😩😩😭😭😭 it’s like she not even thinking about, she just does it. Her voice is truly an instrument.

not sure of you listened to the Tiny Desk version on your headphones but the ending for Stand where they layer the vocals...it goes from center to left to right. A sound engineer in the comments on that video pointed this out and I'm forever grateful to him. Because it makes such a difference. But both still great versions ❤️❤️

The arrangement and vocals on tiny desk are beautiful and insane for a live performance but this version is much more vocally complex and has so many more layers to it that make it such an intricate yet powerful sound - Plus she did her own BV's, and the production quality is top notch

I'm not going to lie, as she was releasing singles from this album I was like hmmm I dunno, this isn't the Yebba I fell in love with. Nothing so far sounds like My Mind or her insaneee cover of Gravity. Where is the gritty soul? These singles are too smooth, too polished. BUT listening to the whole album today, from top to bottom, I GET IT. Sheesh. It's genius. I was wrong. I get it now.
Totally - once you see it through the lens of the grief she was experiencing when she wrote it and listen closely to what she’s saying, the smooth and contained singing style is just fitting, showing her vocal prowess. There is more control in her voice too - less belting, more riffs. The soul is there, it just has a new face.

Many harmonies remind me more of James Francies than any of the above (that you mentioned). Just listen to his piano, keyboards and also to his own songs on Flight and on his last album.

This woman has one of the the very best and most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard. Good as Adele is, I much prefer Yebba’s voice and she deserves to become at least as successful. Yebba already has some wonderful songs in her repertoire and her debut LP is very strong throughout. My favourite cut is Distance which gave me goosebumps all over when I first heard it. Natural, genuine talent that I hope receives the recognition and rewards that it deserves.

Jesus wept, I can't deal. I freaking LOVE the whole album, but this song, every single time I hear it, it makes every little hair on my body stand on end. That's the true power of music. It's so bloody beautiful. I must have listened to it a thousand times now, and I'm still nowhere close to bored of it. Adele is warbling her *constant* way to the top of the charts - I'm sorry, this should totally be in her place.

I often wonder how artists write these songs but most of all the lyrics what is the explanation what is the meaning most of all the experience behind it, this is a fantastic song and it fills my heart
