I’m so excited! I just got my first gallon of raw milk. I thought I was lactose intolerant but I don’t have any reaction to the raw milk. Turns out I’ve been paying for enzymes in a pill form that is naturally in raw milk! It is delicious! I’m so excited to be able to enjoy milk now without paying a nasty price later.
Humans need to know that milk as sold to us cattle is destroyed in pasteurization. Specifically lactase which is needed to digest lactose. All those humans you know that suffer lactose intolerance and allergies, that is from pasteurization poisoning. A big clue to reality is that our overlords only eat raw milk.
I grew up on a farm I spent the first 18 years of my life drinking milk straight from the cows. Making our own whipping cream and butter. Many many happy memories thanks for sharing.
I grew up on a farm in Rajasthan, India. Minus the blender, my grandma did everything how you showed it. Instead of a blender, she had a hand-helled mixture in a clay pot. I took turns with her stirring it, which required massive amount of energy. Obviously, I used to give up after 2 mins. Grandma did this everyday! Laborious way to make yummy butter. Thanks for sharing this! And great job. 👍👍
God gave us so many wonderful things when this modern world collapses the only people that will survive are those who know primitive skills for survival, I love your videos they remind me of good old days, my mom talks about how my grandma & her sisters had victory gardens during the depression all the canning they did, my grandma made everything in the home clothes, food, blankets, ect. she passed at 56 I was around 11 yrs old. your kids are so blessed to have this life one day you & Luke will sit on the porch while your family cares for you, what a blessing, oh & never apologize for using hands :)
Yes that’s why I moved to the Amish area almost two years ago. I learned so much and I keep on learning. I’m sticking to it and life is pretty more amazing than modern world life I was living before
My grandmother used her hands to form and rinse the "cow butter" as we all called it. She also made the salt pickles like you do only she did it in a big brown bowl. Thank you so much for you videos. These are lost arts.
Nothing wrong with using your hands as long as they're clean 🤗. Fresh ranch cheese in Mexico is made by hand and is soo good. Thanks for the video! I'm an apprentice in the dairy business and want to learn to make alot of these recipes because nothing's better than homemade!
I live in England. I can't get raw milk locally but some dairy farms do mail order. Overnight mailing costs makes it too expensive to have on a regular basis, but I treat myself occasionally. One supplier sells cream that is so thick it almost turns to butter just by stirring it with a spoon. In my blender it turns into delicious butter in just a few seconds.
The whey (buttermilk) is awesome for baking and cooking ❤️I definitely rinse with filtered water. I leave mine out all the time (roughly ½ cup at a time) and refrigerate the rest until I need more, then put more in a crock again on the counter. I’ve never had my butter go rancid. Great video. ❤️
Thank you for this video! I just made some and it has the creamiest texture. Thank you for making these videos of “how to’s” so easy to follow along. It gives a boost of confidence and makes me want to try other things! You are the best!
Love raw milk! I came across raw dairy over the past year and was excited after research to find some farms near me! We have issues with "dairy" from the store but when it comes to raw dairy we have no stomach issues or any skin issues. Imagine that!
I usually make butter with the “shake in a jar” method. I pop on some music and shake a mason jar! It usually takes 15-30mins…today it was 15 😆 Press out buttermilk and rinse and salt as usual! If I had more than a couple of gallons of milk to deal with a week and as busy a life as you I might try the blender method, but at the moment I really enjoy the simplicity of being able to get butter from something so simple as shaking a closed container ☺️
4:00 Our school teacher would put a clean towel over a bowl. Then she poured all of the content into it, and wrapped up the towel connecting the four corners, thus closing it. Finally she would turn it around and squeeze it so the buttermilk would come out out at the bottom, going into the bowl, while the butter remained inside the towel. We usually, not always, add some salt where I come from. Also, my teacher added buttermilk during the process while the residual was buttermilk...? I never really understood that part. (Google translate suggests the title of the class would be school economics; it was primarily cooking.)
I got a half gallon of raw milk from a co-vendor at the farmers market we participate in. My goal is homemade ice cream. After reading more pros and cons articles, I became doubtful about using raw. I have several autoimmune issues and strongly believe in whole foods that are real. Diet has kept me off most medd, including allopurinol (for gout). I.make my own bread using non-bromided flour and we grow most of our vegetables. We also have a small fruit orchard. I think the reason that I don't have confidence in raw milk is that I'm afraid that I will contaminate it. Watching Lisa put her hands in her butter had helped me from thinking that I need to completely sterilize my kitchen and myself before making the ice cream.
Thank you! We've been making our own yogurt from the neighbor's cows (living in Bulgaria - it's kinda the birthplace of yogurt!) and have just been sharing the creamy top bit of yogurt jars. We decided to find out how to put that stuff to better use, especially something we already eat a bit of. Having my first go from 7 liters (about two gallons) of milk today!
I make yogurt (keeping my Bulgarian starter going strong since early August!) and butter from raw Jersey milk that I buy in glass jars (returnable) from a local certified organic farm. Usually, for yogurt making, I scoop off the cream top using a gravy ladle (way neater than measuring cup). Occasionally I shake the cream into the milk and use it all for yogurt, therefore getting the cultured creamy buttery layer on top of the yogurt. Scraping that off into a little jar, it makes WONDERFUL buttery spread. It stays soft in the refrigerator so is perfect for toast, muffins, etc. It also stays delicious for a really long time (I live alone & don't overindulge... often). I don't think it'd be suitable as a butter replacement if baking cake, but it'd probably be fine for less picky butter uses.
Great video! @Butter stage, I'd say use a nut milk bag to squeeze out buttermilk, and warm the butter in the oven with salt until it melts for an even mix, put into a mold, then cool in the fridge.
I am so excited that I recently found a farm that sells raw milk. I will give this recipe a try because I love butter! This video was so relaxing to watch! You and your daughter are both beautiful!
I watched a video where the woman left her cream out on the counter for two days. It got clumpy and aged. She said it makes tastier butter. Thought you would want to know since you make almost everything homemade!
We love butter too! Before we found the one and only farm on the North Fork who sells raw milk I would buy heavy cream and whip it into butter. I will definitely try the cream on top of raw milk now!
Hi Lisa! Been following your channel for almost a year now. Im from the Philippines and when we get the chance, we buy milk from a local dairy farm. I was hesitant to try raw milk with my kids but eith your videos, I'm gonna give the raw milk a try. And try to make butter too! I love your farmhouse, thanks for sharing!
I never knew making butter was so easy!! I have got to give this a try. The buttermilk leftover would be good for some buttermilk biscuits. This way I wouldn't have to take the milk and add vinegar to make the buttermilk.
I've made butter from cream before, but I did not know I could just scoop the cream from the raw milk (duh...) :) so thanks for that:) Btw: I'm from Germany and love your videos!
You can make ghee if you wash the butter very well until the water becomes transparent and then put it in a jar and let for 20 days or more you'll have ghee or clarified butter to cook with.
You are very welcome. I’ll go ahead and subscribe to your channel and watch some more videos in the future. I don’t have much free time these days. Y’all have a good day.
Wow Lisa I’m impressed how easy you made this look! Always wanted to do this and so glad to have found raw milk from minnonites in our area recently. Making it today. How long can raw milk stay in frig? Hope to see yiu again this year at Ozark Homesteading conference this fall or at Off Grid with Doug and Stacey conference in Vandalia next week!
Brand new. I was gifted some raw milk today. Gonna try this when it seperates. Dumb question. What can be made from the liquid that is left after cream seperates? I know. DUMB question but I’m new to this 😊
Do you leave the cream out of the fridge before you put it in the blender? Or do you take the cream straight from the fridge and immediately use it to make butter?
If it's too cold, it takes longer to churn....if it's too warm the butter will be soft and gloppy. Pulling from fridge and letting warm to room temp about 10 min works really well as long as it's not too hot in your house
Here in the Netherlands, people drink buttermilk by itself. Kind of like a yoghurt drink. But it’s a love or hate kind of taste. I love it, but I’ve never had raw milk buttermilk.
What does it mean if the cream never separates into butter and buttermilk? Tried processing mine in a blender and all it’s done is turn hot and frothy. No butter chunks.
Did you use raw cream or cream from the store? if you used raw cream I would just be sure you only have the cream scraped from the top and none of the milk and keep processing it until you see the little chunks begin to separate and then process some more. If you used cream from the store it needed to be heavy whipping cream.
I've always wondered, why don't we add the salt ahead of time into the cream while it's still liquid? That seems much easier than having to mix it in later into the thick butter. But maybe adding salt early would prevent the butter-separating process somehow?
Brings back memories. We used to put the cream in a jar and shake until butter formed. We had a metal and a wooden mold to shape it, wrapped it, then sold it. I hated the taste of it.
Using your hands is completely fine lol. You could also.use a cheese cloth, but if you're anything like me, that's just another thing to buy when your hands work just fine.
I finally got my hands on some raw milk and I separated the cream but mine wasn’t as thick as yours. And I’ve had it blending now for a good 20 mins. It’s chuncked up but not looking like whip cream yet? What am I doing wrong 😭
when it starts chunking up you have hit the butter stage....put a strainer over a bowl and pour the chunks in while letting the buttermilk drain out and then follow the rest of the video...
I'm glad I just found your video in 2024, because I think I just messed up with my butter. I didn't know that you had to let the milk sit and separate, so I just went about blending it and got nothing.😢
Yes too many people have been played by the anti health propaganda that they feed us to keep us dependent on pharmaceuticals
I had the same problem until started drinking raw milk and became happy again 😋
I'm glad people are waking up to the decades long brain washing
Interesting! Good to hear!

Oh and what a delicious childhood you had!
Can you share how you did butter ? And other by products ?
I grew up on a farm in Rajasthan, India. Minus the blender, my grandma did everything how you showed it. Instead of a blender, she had a hand-helled mixture in a clay pot. I took turns with her stirring it, which required massive amount of energy. Obviously, I used to give up after 2 mins. Grandma did this everyday! Laborious way to make yummy butter.

Using your blender isn't exactly primitive 😂
My grandmother used her hands to form and rinse the "cow butter" as we all called it. She also made the salt pickles like you do only she did it in a big brown bowl. Thank you so much for you videos. These are lost arts.
I never new why buttermilk had that name. Wow, how did I not know all these years. Thank you!
You're not alone, lol
Store bought “buttermilk “ isn’t real buttermilk. It’s cultured skim milk.
Nothing wrong with using your hands as long as they're clean 🤗. Fresh ranch cheese in Mexico is made by hand and is soo good. Thanks for the video! I'm an apprentice in the dairy business and want to learn to make alot of these recipes because nothing's better than homemade!
I love that you used a Ninja to blend & used your hands to form the ball. So easy, simple, and real honest processing. Can't wait to try it!
Glad it was helpful!
Yes we have been shaking in a jar for an hour 😅
I live in England. I can't get raw milk locally but some dairy farms do mail order. Overnight mailing costs makes it too expensive to have on a regular basis, but I treat myself occasionally. How do yo rinse the buttermilk off? Don't you lose butter too?
Thank you for this video! I just made some and it has the creamiest texture. Thank you for making these videos of “how to’s” so easy to follow along. It gives a boost of confidence and makes me want to try other things! You are the best!
Love this! We get raw milk from a local farm family too, and it is wonderful! Now I want to start making butter and yogurt after watching your videos!
Love raw milk! I came across raw dairy over the past year and was excited after research to find some farms near me! We have issues with "dairy" from the store but when it comes to raw dairy we have no stomach issues or any skin issues. Imagine that!
A sour cream video would be great too 😊. This butter looks amazing. These days I am personally offended by margarine 😂.
I usually make butter with the “shake in a jar” method. I pop on some music and shake a mason jar! It usually takes 15-30mins…today it was 15 😆
Press out buttermilk and rinse and salt as usual!
If I had more than a couple of gallons of milk to deal with a week and as busy a life as you I might try the blender method, but at the moment I really enjoy the simplicity of being able to get butter from something so simple as shaking a closed container ☺️
Ahh, this brought back such great memories for me! I used to work at an organic creamery and I made lots of butter😊

"Tastes like... Butter!" So funny. Your daughter has beautifully striking eyes. Thank you, I'm definitely going to try this with our raw milk!
I noticed that too! About her eyes
I just have found you all and watching your videos and you explain things well also not to long. Thank you!

@@cautiouscoyote8590 Yeah - it's almost a cream cheese flavor.
Rubber gloves are great! I refrigerate it when it starts to melt
I usually do the blender method, but tried the mason jar shaking method last time. Yes, it was quite lot of shaking, good workout, lol.
We can get raw milk as well as creamline milk. That's just milk that hasn't been homogenized, but is pasteurized. Great video. 🤗
Just found you and had to subscribe. You look great for people who are just starting out with clean living.
Great mom! Keep it up. Our world will need this knowledge!
Amazing to think it can be so quick in the blender, lovely family!.
Love this raw milk series Lisa, hands are a chefs best tools in the kitchen ☺️
I totally agree! Hands are the most underrated kitchen tools.
Bless them hands mama
Great video! @Butter stage, I'd say use a nut milk bag to squeeze out buttermilk, and warm the butter in the oven with salt until it melts for an even mix, put into a mold, then cool in the fridge.
Yum....butter! Your daughters eyes....wow!
There really is no better method than using your hands!! Loved the video.
Thank you for this tutorial! Btw your daughter’s eyes are GORGEOUS!
Do I have cream to make butter?? NO! but someday I hope to have a dairy cow 😊
I LOVE this type of content!
Thanks this is the best video on making butter, so simple straight forward and easy to follow! Thank youuuuuuu
I am so excited that I recently found a farm that sells raw milk. I will give this recipe a try because I love butter! This video was so relaxing to watch! You and your daughter are both beautiful!
These are my favorite types of videos you do!! Love it!!
Thanks so much! They are definitely lower viewed videos, but I still love to make them.
I watched a video where the woman left her cream out on the counter for two days. It got clumpy and aged. She said it makes tastier butter. Thought you would want to know since you make almost everything homemade!

Excellant video ladies. Thank you !
Thank you!! So many other online recipes for butter includes heavy cream which is made with butter. SMH. I will definitely being doing this!!
Real butter!!!...yum....
Informative. How long will the butter last (shelf life)?
A year later, and we still don’t know
Around 5 days is my understanding. Getting the buttermilk out is key.
Just found your channel (first video)and I already love it!!!
Thank you. Exactly what I needed to see.😊
You’re welcome 😊
Oh my goodness that last clip of your daughter saying uhhh it tastes like Butter and the look on her face is so funny, she is adorable.
I don't know why she did that! She loves butter. Haha. You never know with kids!
Put it in the mixer for an hour... still no butter??
This should just take minutes....did you use ice cold heavy whipping cream of the cream strained off of your raw milk?
Hi , your video is really helpful .
Love from Banglaesh.🇧🇩
I never knew making butter was so easy!! I have got to give this a try. The buttermilk leftover would be good for some buttermilk biscuits. This way I wouldn't have to take the milk and add vinegar to make the buttermilk.

I've made butter from cream before, but I did not know I could just scoop the cream from the raw milk (duh...) :) so thanks for that:)
Btw: I'm from Germany and love your videos!
Thanks so much for following along! :)
Thank you great video!!
Thank you!
Use stand mixer with balloon whisk, less messy. Wash in ice water and press, no melt
It doesn’t bother me at all you using your hands 😊 i love your videos. Do you use the buttermilk for pancakes?
Thank you, this was very helpfull, you have a wonderfull family!
You can make ghee if you wash the butter very well until the water becomes transparent and then put it in a jar and let for 20 days or more you'll have ghee or clarified butter to cook with.

Thanks for this video....
I think I'll have a cup of coffee now to digest all this great info.
I liked the video, cute lil helper😊

Raw milk can last in fridge up to two weeks....

THis is awesome, what do you do with your buttermilk? Just drink it?
Excellent, thanks for sharing your method! ❤️ your little helper, she’ll become an expert in dairy prducts👏
I refrigerated raw milk 30 hours then scooped off the cream. I blended the cream for 20 minutes with no butter forming. What did i do wrong?
Brand new. I was gifted some raw milk today. Gonna try this when it seperates. Dumb question. What can be made from the liquid that is left after cream seperates? I know. DUMB question but I’m new to this 😊
BLESS YOUR HANDS❤😊soo sweet
About how long does it take in the ninja? I'm on about 4 minutes now.
Actually, way more now. Maybe I got some milk in with it.
I started making my own butter this year .
It's so easy, isn't it?!
Love this!
Do you leave the cream out of the fridge before you put it in the blender? Or do you take the cream straight from the fridge and immediately use it to make butter?
So cool! Now I need to find farm in south Florida 😂
A rebellious farm, because I believe it is illegal down there. 😬
I'm intrested can we be in contact ?
Not sure where your location is but we are in okeechobee florida!
Does the temperature of the cream play a role in the success of making butter?
If it's too cold, it takes longer to churn....if it's too warm the butter will be soft and gloppy. Pulling from fridge and letting warm to room temp about 10 min works really well as long as it's not too hot in your house
Cool vídeo, thx for the info
so sweet and beautiful family 😍💖
Thank you for sharing!!
I love real Milk, drink a quart a day - in England we have these jersey cows that make a really creamy milk.
I do the same thing with my coconut milk!
good job
Here in the Netherlands, people drink buttermilk by itself. Kind of like a yoghurt drink. But it’s a love or hate kind of taste. I love it, but I’ve never had raw milk buttermilk.

I think it is because then you end up with salted buttermilk.
Don't be embarrassed to use your hands.. so much power in that!
Helpful video
Looks delicious . How long does it keep for Lisa refrigerated ?
Brings back memories. We used to put the cream in a jar and shake until butter formed. We had a metal and a wooden mold to shape it, wrapped it, then sold it. I hated the taste of it.
you can make it in a mixer too

@@FarmhouseonBoone but it never turned yellow. It was still really white
@@VictoriaBrizendine-sb6clThat’s what mine just did; and it was cold, raw cream 😢
I used fresh raw milk I milked yesterday but my butter is more on the whiter side. Is this due to the diet of the cow
Yes. When the cow is eating fresh grass you will see a color change. Corn/grain fed will produce a whiter butter
I'm glad I just found your video in 2024, because I think I just messed up with my butter. I didn't know that you had to let the milk sit and separate, so I just went about blending it and got nothing.😢
I hope this video helps you make delicious butter next time!
My pregnant wife (8months) just waddled away smiling saying “let’s get the blender out”.
Wow you are so obviously intelligent
Do you use room temperature cream for butter? Or cold? Love your video’s!
A little chilled actually! It doesn’t quite churn properly otherwise
Hey Lisa, I’m so excited...I just made butter🥰😇
Wonderful!
