Would you recommend the Speediance Gym Pal over the Virturuvian+ Trainer? Given the price difference, this seems like an attractive option. However, I am concerned about the company's responsiveness. Commenters on their social profiles have complained that the company doesn't respond to consumers.
What is the status of the new incline bench? Please ask Speediance to confirm that the pre-orders in early July will receive the new incline bench, not the defective incline bench
*Good news... originally this video referred to stability issues above 150lbs (that part of the video should be cut out soon), but that has now been fixed. The issue only came about when using the barbell with the rings adjusted toward the ends of the barbells... as you move the adjuster ring in, everything becomes much more stable! Gym Pal comes across as a dirt cheap Vitruvian like the Gym Monster is a dirt cheap Tonal. But this thing might sell well to those looking to get into digital fitness on the cheap. However, I think serious lifters attracted to digital fitness might probably go for a Vitruvian. But Vitruvian may need to lower their pricing and/or start offering major software improvements and membership reductions to attract the more serious lifters and be a viable alternative to Tonal that they want to be.
I don’t know about the handy wheel, but I’ll probably make a video detailing the differences between Vitruvian and Gym Pal. I think the cost difference between the two is appropriate though, with Vitruvian being 2x the cost, 2x the load, etc…
@@ConnectTheWatts I certainly hope not. But the Tonal attracts a lot of attention based on some of the high profile celebrities attached to it such as LeBron James and Serena Williams. Some people foolishly believe that Tonal might help them be a champion.
@@Beast_Mode_JonesI see you asking questions about the handy gym for over half a year. It’s not even being sold in the U.S. anymore. You missed the boat already. Doubt you’ll be buying any sort of gym equipment or even working out.
Thanks for your thorough review and feedback for the weight loading and safety issues! How does this machine feel to the Vitruvian Trainer+? What are your thoughts on value compared to the Vitruvian Trainer+?
My only issue is that like Vetruvian, they’re not as big as Peloton. What happens if they go out of business or acquired by another company? Would I still be able to use the app and machine.
Hello, Is this useable in a hotel without WiFi instead of at home? Most hotels have WiFi that devices other than phones and laptops can’t log into due to the password.
The device hooks to the phone over bluetooth and the phone will hook to internet over wifi. The device doesn't need to connect to wifi. Hope that answers your concern.
I like my Gym Pal, but I wish the software would show you an animation of how to perform the movement during the exercise. The static picture that shows up when you pause the exercise doesn't really do much for showing you the proper form.
Great stuff. For the ankle and tri rope does it look like other brands would work or are you locked into their accessories? I pre ordered the base model and not pro
A bit disappointed with the incline bench, for sure. Incline db presses are my go to since the pandemic. I generally keep the incline around 30 degrees. Is it stable at that angle at least?
@@ConnectTheWatts I got in on the early bird pricing back when it was 1070, so I would expect to be in the first batch of ones going out, unfortunately.
How does the load for squating at over 150 lbs on the gym pal feel compared to the gym monster? Is the gym monster also a bit unstable or just requires precise balance or you will get pulled more from one side than the other when doing heavier bar squats?
I dont get why chain wouldnt be a good name, when you are closer to the floor the chains are in the floor so you dont have to lift it, but when you go up you start lifting more weight thats exactly how chain works, heavier on top
My only concern is safety. If the software has a bug, It could be more unsafe than traditional weights due to the user overestimates their abilities and disregards the need for a spotter.
Its a super flimsy plastic body, I heard some crackling sounds when I stepped on the front unintentionally, but hey its at ground level and right in the front, how would you ensure never to step on it.
I pre-ordered mine and it says it's shipping the end of August. I've tried to get a hold of them more than once via chat and email and I have gotten absolutely no reply ever. I've very concerning but I'm wondering A: how you got yours early and B: if you've ever had to contact them and what was your experience. the customer service experience is just as important as the product itself. Thank you!
I have seen people get pretty good responses and customer service via their Facebook group, so I would try on there first. This was a plan early-production unit that speediance sent, since many want to see a review before deciding to purchase
Nice review of yet another platformer. It continually amazes me how these startup level companies can easily bring products to market, whereas some giant unnamed companies with enormous resources can't figure it out.
Appreciate the detailed review. Already preordered mine and hunting for a early production review! Is it wide enough to comfortabley stand on? One of my key concern is its dimension as its a lot smaller than Vitruvian. Thanks!
How noisy is it? Also how would you compare it to the vitruvian? I have been waiting for the reviews for this product as I very hesitant to buy the vitruvian due to price and monthly subscription. I am still unsure
It’s about the same noise level as a moderately loud fan. I’ll probably make a comparison video between this and Vitruvian (and possible some others that have reviews coming) but I think the price seems appropriate… Vitruvian is about 2x the cost, 2x the load, etc…
Probably do need to factor in that the Vitruvian is actually about 4-5x the cost if you do the lifetime subscription. May still be worth it, but 1k vs. 5k quite a difference.@@ConnectTheWatts
Hmm, not sure I agree. Gym Pal is $1,500. Vitruvian is $3,000. Subscription for Vitruvian feels optional to me (mostly there if you want taught classes)
@@ConnectTheWatts Fair enough. I was including the accessories kit as that has the bench, bar, etc. and for both you can’t really use your own. fwiw Speediance at checkout was 1100, vitruvian was 3800 for me. Both cool and hope they do well.
Honsetly, I'd much rather choose the Harambe System, sure.. it isn't a smart system, but it does all that this does, with resistance bands, which is better and can go higher than 200 lbs if needed. And if you add a Clench platform to that setup, you now have many more options.
No, bands aren't the same. Here, the weight is applied evenly throughout the entire ROM. Bands offer no resistance at the bottom of the range and extreme resistance at the top. Smart systems feel significantly better.
Would recommend skipping this one to save yourself the headache. They delivered mine to the wrong state and I can't get ahold of anyone to correct it. They did deliver the bench and bar to correct address. I think any time you find yourself disputing a charge with a credit card company, you have to give the advice to other's to save themselves the bother. Might be a cool product, but not worth it imo.
The same exact thing happened to me too. My device ended up at someone else's address, just bar and bench came in and they took 2 more months to deliver the device, which turned out to be 75lb , not 55lb, quite a scam. I am trying to return it, but they are ignoring my email.

Thanks for your review, looking for a new equipment that is space efficient and easy to move so this helps me understand the equipment better.
Can the app be installed on Google tv or fire TV? Or at minimum screen casted so you can look at it on the big screen?

How is the build quality? I’ve been looking between Gym Monster and Tonal but this seems to be a good choice.
Build quality seems pretty good, though it does have a plastic casing so you probably don’t want to be too reckless with it.
How do you do things like pull ups/chin ups on this??
What’s the max user weight limit?
You don’t. Need a pull-up bar for that
Thanks!
Thank you!

I have not, and currently do not know what changes are being made to it.
Great detailed review as always . Appreciate the work you put to this channel.

Hi Connect the Watts,
Are the wheels made of rubber?
Can you please ask Speediance if the pre-orders will ship with the “improved” incline bench or with the not so great bench that you tested?
This is important to know!!!
I believe so but I haven't seen what improvements are being made to the bench yet
@@ConnectTheWattsupdate on the bench??
Hey, great video. Have you given Speediance feedback regarding the stability issues over 150lbs and have they said if they will adjust that?
yes they say they are working on it and I'm continuing to do some testing to help improve it
Hello,
Is this useable in a hotel without WiFi instead of at home? Most hotels have WiFi that devices other than phones and laptops can’t log into due to the password.
I don't think you need wifi, but I can try and test out

1. So, does 220 max mean 110 lbs on each side?
2. When do they ship?
yup, 110lbs per side. I believe they are working to start shipping in late August
I like my Gym Pal, but I wish the software would show you an animation of how to perform the movement during the exercise. The static picture that shows up when you pause the exercise doesn't really do much for showing you the proper form.
Can you tell me what the maximum load capacity of an individual is that can use this piece of equipment within manufacturers warranty?
Solid review. Don't think there is anything comparable at that price.
ive been waiting for this, thanks!
No problem, thanks for watching!
Have speediance mention anything about future attachments for instance lats?
Great stuff. For the ankle and tri rope does it look like other brands would work or are you locked into their accessories? I pre ordered the base model and not pro
I believe so, as long as it has that same connection hook (I think most do)
Thanks for the awesome review!
Were you able to connect the app to a TV?
Not that I could tell. Though I have a hdmi cable that connects to my phone and I can hook it up to my tv that way.
I have an iPhone and an Apple TV so I'm going to mirror my phone to my TV via the Apple TV with the app open. I hope this might be a solution for you!
A bit disappointed with the incline bench, for sure. Incline db presses are my go to since the pandemic. I generally keep the incline around 30 degrees. Is it stable at that angle at least?
Speediance says they’ve made a recent upgrade to the incline bench. So hopefully it’s now more stable than the one I used here.
