- Join us in another Myanmar vlog where we explore the Min Nan Thu village in Bagan Myanmar.
This was an adventure that was completely unplanned! Robyn and I were riding down random dirt tracks in Bagan, when a little girl on the side of the road asked if we wanted to visit her village.
It took me by surprise (the moment was filmed) but I instantly decided it was a good idea, and then we pulled up and the tour began.
This vlog is very raw and sometimes a bit shaky, but you'll get a real sense for what to expect if you ever visit the Min Nan Thu village.
We met the oldest woman (92 years old) in the village! She sat quietly weaving cotton before firing up a cigar! We met some of the village kids, learned how they cook and prepare food. I saw a cotton tree for the first time in my life. I was also introduced to their lacquer ware workshop and how they prepare the sap for their lacquer ware products.
Afterwards, the little girl walked us to a local Pagoda to watch the sunset! And yes, we tipped her generously :-)
This was a truly magnificent experience! If you Google the name of the village and find the exact location, you can probably take a more "planned" approach to it if you plan on visiting Bagan.

P.S. I'm surprised that Robyn being as health conscious as you that she tried the cigar, but I'm glad she was open to the experience! They haven't harmed the oldest lady in the village after all ! :-)

I just found your channel not long ago! Your contend brings so much memories ( the nostalgia! ). I’ve been saying visit Chin State ( the tribal people ). This village is prob what came closest.

Trust me I lived in a village from Kayin. There's so much mountain and water falls. Omg I missed that place where I can lay under the big trees. 😢😢
