I love Franc from the Irish SYTTD (Ireland) version... he is such a gentleman with always a ready smile and outstretched hand to help the Bride move around in her try-outs ... but the best part is ... he is a great listener like Gok and is always able to translate Bride's thoughts into a real dress within her budget. That show is also full of vibes and positive energy much like this Lancaster SYTTD show. Anyway, I just love Franc, Gok and Randy.. they always make the Bride feel so happy and special and that's how a Bride should feel when searching for her perfect dress :)
He can be a therapist
This is the 2nd time he has made the dress in the brides budget specially when it was overbudget. Also I love how he listens to the bride as well as boosts her confidence.

This is not just a wedding dress shopping... It's a complete counselling.... Wish all the stores were like this... Wish there was a gok in every street!!! Love his positivity and patience....
P. S. I am from India and will never wear a white dress for my wedding... But every episode of this show brings about another perspective of thought in me... That no matter what!!! EVERYONE IS BEAUTIFUL.
I guess we just have to be the Gok we want to see in the world. :)

@@scathingsnowflake8460 Yeah cause here white is worn at funerals and in the past traditionally widows were made to compulsorily wear white, so can understand the family's discomfort at a bride wearing white at her wedding, though it goes without saying that she has every right to wear whatever colour she wants. :)

@@scathingsnowflake8460 if you are a muslim/christian then you can. Or from Kerala where i have seen hindu brides wear their traditional white and gold saree. Gujarati brides too wear white and red lehngas in some weddings. There is not hard and fast rule that white is prohibited in Hindu marriages .....just in some cultures its quite an uncomfortable thing. But you do you.

I agree. She looked amazing in the first dress. I would have gone with it - it was very figure/ her flattering. Nothing wrong with her body just made her look the best her to me. Obviously it is up to her. But the first dress - wow.

I love how even the entourages in all the Lancashire clips I've seen are nice and supportive of the bride!
I KNOW! I feel like, in most of the other locations, the entourage was always catty and even rude sometimes. But all the Lancashire clips are heartwarming!!
You do know TLC chooses their entourage for them? Its a requirement of their contract to appear on the show. Maybe Lancashire version doesn't try & create drama by either letting them choose their own entourage, or not choosing an entourage thatll possibly create spats!

Having low self esteem is such a downer, it really stops you putting your self out there, trying new things and just enjoying life.

Well if a person doesn't like himself, he/she should DO something about it. She doesn't like her figure, she has low self esteem then she should exercise more, eat healthy food and learn how to enjoy life properly. I don't know if she really do sports or not but in general when you're not happy about something in your life - change it, don't just sit there and cry. I'm saying this with all my respect to everyone. :)
@@ДаянаИдънс I know this is 5 months late but your comment didnt sit well with me. Not all self esteem issues can be fixed by eating healthy, etc. A lot of people can't control it (myself included, i suffer from body dysmorphia disorder which absolutely ruins my self esteem). This bride could have had a medical issue or an eating disorder, etc. and even if she was just unhappy, as long as shes a healthy weight and not in any danger she shouldnt be told to change herself in order to love herself. I agree with encouraging people like her to enjoy life properly, but that doesnt come from change, it comes from self love. This bride needed self love, not a new body.

@@brooke6134 EXACTLY!! You can lose 50 pounds and still see yourself as fatter than before because of self esteem issues. It is mainly psychological, not physical. So a simple change of habits will not change the way we perceive ourselves
Gok is my absolute favorite. He has such a pure heart! And I still haven't recovered from the "fox in the snow" episode - I think I've watched it five times already.

That one had me tearing up.It was pure magical.
I adored the tall, dark haired girl, who had had cancer. Timelessly beautiful. She wanted a different dress and found a stunning 1930's dress. Gok was saying it was 20's, but it was classic 30's.
In the 1930's she could have been marrying an earl or heir to a dukedom, coming out of St Margaret's. Truly fairytale stuff.
The fox on the snow was lovely too.
The sad thing about low self-esteem is how we deny ourselves of things that could really be ours, if only we try, thinking we don't deserve it...
Love ourselves enuf to try different things, also to improve on things we can and want to change about ourselves. U r good and can always be better ❤️

This is why I am always a fan of taking someone with you when you shop. For me it’s my husband because he will be 100% honest with me if something doesn’t look right but will also point out MANY things that do. If he sees me put something back because of a body issue I think I have he will insist I try it on. 9 times out of 10 the issues were just in my head or I was trying a size that was too large. Example is in my head I am a size 3-4X larger than I really wear

@THEwhimsical1 well if that is the case, the world population would be less than 1/100th of current situation. 😂😂 I don't think most of our mothers had a bold upbringing where they *were so confident about themselves. Today it is the media that is building insecurity in girls and back then it was the society. While It's great to be not insecure, it's impossible to have a perfect personality (esp before marriage, or before 30) we're only human.
That First dress was absolutely breathtaking on her she look great in all of them but that First dress was stunning

@Nina Shroomsburgh Dear, obviously you know nothing about mix heritage. Her model is her mother and her mother side of the family. This means she sees as the standard flat shape, straight hair, non- full lips as accepting or pretty and cannot see her broader hips, thicker thighs, wavy/curly hair, waist to seat ratio etc as normal. I've seen it many times when kids from mix raced or adoption are brought up by someone not like themselves. They often have trouble accepting their own genetics. Again, I don't expect you to understand.

The concern on her face when she sees herself as a heavy set woman. What more if she got pregnant and have kids? More women get big and heavy once they have kids. Bcoz womens hormones change and metabolism slows down as we age. I dont know......

It breaks my heart that she doesn't see how absolutely beautiful she is. She is so so lovely and she has no idea.

Gok is amazing. As a bridal consultant, you have to be a psychologist, an artist, a great listener, and a friend. He checks all the boxes. When he had her look in the mirror and really look at herself and all the negative things she was saying about herself, she completely realized that she wasn't really worried about hating the dress--she was hating herself. Absolutely brilliant way to turn her mind around.
Gok is SOOOOO sweet! Buy a wedding dress and get the confidence for free.
Gok is amazing! I am 71, never married/never will. Decades ago I made a few wedding dresses (I stopped that due to the entourage drama!), but I watch this show (1) because of Gok, (2) the touching stories. The drama annoys me but Gok quickly addresses those situations. I also adore Jo and Al, they are awesome. Catering to Plus Sized clients creates such a safe, welcoming atmosphere for ladies that rarely feel comfortable shopping (live), for any clothing.
I'm gonna say yes to Aunty Gok. He's amazing.

I love, how wholesome this environment is. I watched a lot of clips of the American version, and it's such a big difference! The American ver. seems to be all about toxic people and drama in the familly, while here people are so nice and simply wholesome, it makes me cry T-T Amazing!

Having an appointment with Gok is like being in therapy. You walk in feeling unsure/insecure about yourself then you walk out totally happy and confident. And they have the most amazing dresses on this show. I hope to see more Gok on the future episodes

What I love most about this show is that Gok doesn't just say things to sell a dress, he really deals with the brides on a true heart to heart, one on one level. I've been to various shops and you can see the dollar signs in the consultants eyes as they try to upsell you, and convince you, you do like something that you don't. I also love how these are budget friendly dresses. Some places act like it's a crime not to come in their stores ready to spend 10 grand. It's one thing if that's all they offer, but if you have dresses of all price ranges, respect the bride's budget.
I loved how gok gave her confidence. I understand when the bride says no tight or bum/tummy is highlighted because many times it does look bad as they are highlighted when dress gets tighter but the 1st dress made everything perfect and her slimming😍

These are the things I’d try but those are more my speed. Basically just look for someone that’s gonna have similar values & put yourself out there. I think having a solid group of friends is such an important foundation for you to even start looking for an SO (and sometimes your SO is in that group).
I get so inspired by these shows and it already gives me an idea of what I’d want for my wedding

I love how they pull dresses in budget, and if they are too expensive they usually bring the price down. As opposed to the US version when they pull a $7000 dress for a $3000 budget.
