What can one do if the light plug is far away from the window?? What else can I use that is not an extension cord??
Hi there. To answer your question, LG units are required to be plugged directly into a dedicated wall outlet with the correct voltage. If the plug does not fit the outlet or the cord is not long enough to reach the outlet, you will need to contact an electrician to correct this issue. Please be advised that any attempt to modify the unit's power cord will void the warranty of the unit. In addition, the power requirements for your unit are listed in the owner's manual so you can show the electrician when they come out. If you need further assistance, please send us a private message on social media using @LGSSupport. We're here to help. ^Win

have the same issue but a diffrent lg unit.
I have a window unit that was just purchased and installed 2 days ago, it was working fine, in the middle of the night I turned it off just to give it a rest. Now it won't turn on. The plug is in a power strip, everything else on the power strip works. It has to be plugged into the power strip, because the wall unit only has two slots and not three. I tried the "test" button on the cord and it makes a click noise as if shutting something off. Any idea what might be wrong?

Does your manual say it‘s okay to use a power strip, share wall outlets with other devices, or that instead it should be plugged directly into the wall outlet? If you do not have manual check specifications on website, Lowe‘s or Home Depot.
WARNING: if the plug or where it is plugged in, that‘s a sign of cable, outlet etc heating up and could cause a fire.
@@dplj4428 I don't know, the new air conditioner I have isn't having any problems
Hi there, We see that you're inquiring about the power supply with your LG Air Conditioner. We would suggest plugging the unit into its own dedicated plug. The power supply should not be plugged into an extension cord or power supply. This is for safety concerns. Please contact us with the serial number of your unit and a good number so that we can assist you with getting a manual for your unit. www.lg.com/us/support/help-library. ~Tanisha
Shouldn’t b in a power strip.
My unit is less than a month old. It keeps tripping the GFI on the cord. It just started this, done it twice, second time it won’t reset. My outlet is fine. What is going on. I’m in south Florida and it’s hot!

What does FL mean?
Hi there. The FL code indicates that the condensate water is full. If the appliance operates continuously under conditions of high humidity, the base pan may get filled with water. That is how the "FL" or “CH04” code will appear.

Is it ok to use a power strip that is rated properly ?
Hi, there! We appreciate your inquiry. For optimal performance and safety, it's best to follow the manufacturer's guidelines and plug your LG portable air conditioner directly into a dedicated wall outlet with the correct voltage and amperage ratings. This ensures the unit receives adequate power and operates safely as intended. We hope this information helps! ^Mau
