I discovered this song a decade ago and found this acoustic version today, I've tried to sing it but my voice always breaks... such a sad deep feeling I perceived every single time.
I agree, Josue. There is so much more emotion in this version. The studio version takes what is the melody here and makes it a soft counter melody. It's still good, but this one is so much better!

Such a beautiful and sad song, makes me cry without fail. John Grant's voice is both soothing and heart breaking, what a beautiful honest man.
I actually like this version better than the studio version...there just seems to be SO much more feeling in this version. I agree about his voice.
John Grant is truely underrated ... this clip captures his most amazing vocal range and emotion .. totally love him and The Czars ...
