I think it was 1979 that the canal wall broke flooding the neighborhood in right next too Richardsons canal house inn, original owners were Vivian and Andy.
Relatively local to Pittsford - yep, a reputation as the posh area (Pittsford-Mendon-Victor), less than 20 minutes to downtown Rochester, but really, really expensive as well. It's getting more congested at commute times and the roads seem barely able to accommodate. Victor has this problem too. As Ferris said: Ferris : "It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."
Yupp! It is a bit more expensive for sure - taxes aren’t great and you’re right, traffic is getting progressively worse. Seems to be a pass thru almost for people living in Mendon, Henrietta, Victor maybe, Bloomfield, etc. you’re right!
I graduated from Brighton, the town next to Pittsford. yes, Pittsford is considered one of the posh areas, nice though. The people are nice about it, it's not like Beverly hills or anything. The most expensive homes are just over a million, not a lot compared to other cities. There are also two colleges, two fancy country clubs and a nice shopping center, as well as good access to the Erie canal. The village of Pittsford is very nice and quaint. I haven't been back there in years. i moved away in 1994. Honestly, i miss it terribly. It's home to me, Brighton and Pittsford. I've lived elsewhere, and to bring back an old slogan, "I'd rather be in Rochester, It's got it!" No other place has felt like home except the Rochester area, ye sit has flaws, but every place else has sucked imo. I want to go back.
Not to be technical but the street Park Forest Dr is actually in the Town of Perinton not Pittsford. On the other side of Thornell is the Pine Cone neighborhood which is actually Pittsford. I’ve worked for the Town of Pittsford for 24 years now and used to plow Thornell. We also pick up brush and yard debris weekly in this area which is something the residents love. Not all towns provide this service. Nevertheless great video of one of my favorite areas of town.
My pleasure! Just found your channel and am loving it as I grew up in Honeoye Falls, live in Fairport and work in Pittsford! Such a great area to live! If it wasn’t for the politics I wouldn’t even consider leaving New York when I retire in six years. Keep up the great job on your videos.
@@roco22731 I agree with you! Thankfully our area isn’t as wild as many other parts of the country, but the policies affect safety, and of course taxes which we all know are INSANE. I appreciate you watching the channel, let me know if there are any videos you’d like to see!
Yes thank you I will! As a fellow veteran if I do decide to stay here after I retire you will be the first person I see about buying a house. Thank you for your service!
Thanks for watching! Let me know if you want more videos like this, always appreciate your support of the channel!
