Lezard Valeth is the most underrated antagonist in video games ever. To me, to this day, no antagonist has enough to match his arrogance, sadistic nature, schemes and ambitions.
I respect that he's a smart guy, uses the party to great effect, racks up a lot of well-earned wins, and has a clear, defined goal that he also CAN achieve. Tons of villains grandstand and boast of a bodycount, but Lezard is the lurking threat that actually gets work done.
@@OniBlackMage Exactly! And his origin is so simple. He picked up a book, found the location of the Philosopher's Stone, studied it and, through reason and plot, took down the king of the Gods, all by himself... and all so he could bang Lenneth. I just love this character.
not to mention that the voice actor does such a great job in playing so many characters like him but really nailed it with Lezard I guess. Lezard is the only one who can be absolutely fuming with rage but still keep an elegant tone and somewhat respectable manner.
@@OniBlackMageThe best thing about Lezard is how self aware the creators of the game is about him. He is named Obsessed "Ex" in SG when despite all his genius he's really just a creepy stalker. And he went as far as destroying the timeline just so he can oggle at Lenneth. I think his newfound divinity just fully corrupted him but he never really cared about being a ruler but rather just to make Lenneth his slave. You can't help but hate him but also appreciate it, despite his pettiness, to jump around timelines and accomplish his goals.
I agree, Dude. This game is very good. Think about a gameplay, whit the ps4 graphics , and whit the ps1 battle system. Man, it'd be the game of the year!

Yeah, that Lezard Valeth is the same Lezard Valeth from the first Valkyrie Profile. In the true ending of the first Valkyrie Profile, Lenneth absorbed every human souls perishing on ragnarok to become the goddess of creation and defeat Loki. All except for Lezard's soul. The guy survived Ragnarok by using the philosophers' stone, then used the time machine in Dipan to return back in time before Dipan was destroyed by Hrist. His existence in the past most likely caused a huge ripple in the timeline that the future Lenneth was in started to crumble. The fact that a Lezard Valeth existed in Dipan, hundred years before the event in the first Valkyrie Profile, should be a clue already. But then again, I guess only those who also played the first game (or at least watched the video about it in this channel) would know about all that.
People were morons thinking when this game came out it didn't feel like a proper sequel or prequel. Also, it didn't include Lenneth etc. Same dumb criticism that plagued Chrono Cross as well. She isn’t one to sit down and play through any video game that isn’t Spyro or Overcooked, much less a 60+ hour JRPG, so I did the only thing I could do at the time-I convinced her to sit down and watch through six hours worth of this games cutscenes in order to get the whole story.
