A fantastic walk, but what particularly catches the attention is the first five minutes or so of this video - truly a work of art in terms of its composition. It takes what is beautiful and elevates it to something beyond. Great talent, absolutely mesmerising. Many thanks.
I adore your walks. I am self-isolating in Florida due to age and an under-lying condition and it is still to hot for me to do my morning walk outside. You have helped me stop my butt from becoming too big- LOL. I also love the fact that you subtitle your history lessons and allow us to hear the natural sounds on your lovely morning walks.
Respected Seniors, Really! I have enjoyed this journey and the visuals was Precious gift to me. The shoots all are Amazing. Thank you very much to all the Seniors.
Thank You for taking us on walks through so many beautiful places that we wouldn't have known existed without your channel!!! When we can travel again, we hope to visit some of these places you have taken us virtually. (We enjoy you channel very much!!)
Colin, it really is my pleasure to share these walks. I hope we can all start travelling again a bit more soon and the world feels a bit more open and connected. Take care.
Thanks for another lovely video! I loved the trains and the platforms so easily accessible from the village! Here in America. It's just not like that in most places rural. You have to own a car! Ridiculous! I would love to catch the train to and from my job everyday. I love England and would move there tomorrow! Thank you again! ❤️!
Thank you! You are more than welcome. It is so nice to share these places. It really is a unique place. I went back and had a coffee and cake in the tearoom not long after doing this walk just to soak up the atmosphere again 😊
Thank you my friend, for taking me on this beautiful trip to my dear aunt’s hamlet of Turleigh. 🙏🏽 Many happy memories lay there 💖 and it is lovely to relive them through this wonderful walk. I have forwarded your video to my cousins. I am sure they will be thrilled as much as I am to go there with you. Warm greetings from The Netherlands 🇳🇱

Truly Beautiful area..I could walk around for hours there..the one home at 16:55 was amazing, looked as if it can be used for a film..the whole area really...as always, Thank you for sharing my friend cheers.
Beautiful part of the British Countryside. We were there in June 2022, our home town is Darwin, Australia. We enjoyed the lovely walk from Turleigh to the Cross Guns-and a great pint of Theaksons Old Peculier goes down well! A great video.
Greetings from NewZealand. Another great vid. What a beautiful village. Love the Cotswold stone. Im intrigued by that fine looking mill chimney. Do you have any info about the mill? Also the Manor? house at 16.56. I like the pace of your vids and the time that you shoot them when its very still with no one around to get in the way and spoil the shots. No voice over to distract one. Its a really nice way to eat a meal watching your vids when the body is so calm. Helps the digestive system no end. Many thanks for putting these vids together.
Thank you for watching! It its so nice to hear that you find these walks relaxing. I often wonder about adding more history facts in! I did a bit of research on the mill and found this: A cloth mill built by c.1790 from roughly-dressed limestone, of two storeys with about four bays, with a detached two stoey range to the south. It stands at the south end of Avoncliff weir. It was converted into a dwelling by 1998. The pantiled roof has coped gables and the windows have been replaced. The mill was reputed to contain a late 19th-early 20th century turbine. To west of this is tall square chimney of brick with large ashlar quoins. There has been a mill on this site since at least the 16th century. And this about the manor: House, late C17 to early C18, ashlar, with hipped stone slate roof and two square corniced ashlar stacks. Two storeys and attic, square plan with formal matching early C18 style fronts to south and east and late C17 style front to west. South and east fronts have modillion cornice and parapet, cornice with heavy pulvinated frieze over ground floor and moulded plinth. Twelve-pane sashes in moulded architraves with moulded sills, the heads of the ground floor windows breaking into the base of the moulded cornice above. Seven-window south front with centre windows closely spaced and panelled double doors in open-pedimented bolection moulded surround with urn in pediment. East front has similar four-window range and two segmental-headed small-paned dormers. Some ground floor windows on both fronts have been lowered. West front is of squared rubble with moulded dripcourse and eaves cornice, the eaves cornice continuing the bottom moulding of the main cornice of south front. Five-window range of chamfered recessed 2-light mullion-and-transom windows and centre door in bolection surround. l½ storey kitchen attached at north west angle. North front is irregular but with cornice carried round. Two ground floor C17 ovolo-moulded 2-light mullion windows and a large tripartite stairlight. A stone-fronted flat dormer has recessed chamfered 2-light mullion window. Interior: altered in C20 but said to have fine twisted baluster staircase and panelled rooms. Part of the pre-Reformation Bradford parsonage lands held by the Dean and Chapter of Bristol 1542-1861. Recorded as held by Barnes family c1548-1615, by the Dicke family, clothiers, 1615-70, J. Curll, clothier 1670-1707, John Daw 1707-27, John Thresher, clothier, 1727 and by descent to Sir Bourchier Wrey c1760, and by Ann Atwood 1811. During most of the C18 the house was tenanted, from 1733-47 by J. Baskerville, clothier, and was described in 1747 as 'a very compleat well built house, with all necessary and convenient out-houses, dye-house, wool-lofts....'. From 1775 the tenant was Richard Atwood, of the noted Bath family of builders and architects. He is recorded as a close friend of the statesman Edmund Burke who is said to have visited. The Rev W. Romaine is said to have written his 'Walk and Triumph of Faith' here 1771. (Information R. and B. Harvey; R.E.M. Peach Rambles about Bath 1876 408; N. Pevsner Wiltshire 1975 540)
no 10 tea house in Avoncliff has spectacular baked goods and savories - all made on the premises. check for open times before you go. also, i highly recommend walking the towpath towards Bath for a bit, crossing the elbow bridge, heading up the hill via either the road or the path off to the left. left will take you on a longer loop up through Winsley, past a spring system out of a rock wall, then back down around Turleigh and the wooded hill you walked up and down.
Thanks for those great tips! Sadly no 10 was closed when I went, they were doing work on the roof. I will definitely go back again, such a nice place to explore. I may do a video from Dundas too at some point.

Gorgeous, i love how the sky comes through in your camera. As a Belgian, i love the English countryside :)
