It's a screw... the handle and mechanism could be found online for less than $20... yeah sure you don't have to waste money on it. But at the end of the day. Power running the machines... time and effort you could have spent selling 1 lemonade would make up for the time and money lost... unless he does this for a living. No reason to do all this for a screwbolt😅
Ya know, I guess I never even looked to see if I could replace it? Tough part is that the handle has a little square section on it that lines up with the lock. So I’d have had to retrofit a new one anyway. Lose lose there, but the milling machine worked great!
Nobody is going to make a cheap piece of hardware out of expensive and soft copper. It was no doubt made of die cast. Just drill a hole in the handle and one in the broken off screw. Take a length of small threaded steel rod, dip it in steel-filled epoxy and use it to splice the two by shoving it into the two and letting it cure. By the way, why was the repaired knob 90 degrees off?
