This review needs an update. Clearly the reviewer received a defective unit and should have requested another one from Viewsonic instead. The speakers are not that muffled and the input lag is quite minimal (like 16ms or less. Even less than that if you have it hooked up to a quality Home Theater Receiver) and in the video he was having other issues with the image, etc. Take this review with a grain of salt everybody.
TriMuXx I was thinking the same
I agree 100 % this guys unit obviously not plugged in...I've had this for 18month its absolutely superb in sound and picture...especially when Fire Stick resolves all the issues he brought up
Are you smoking crack? It isn’t 1000 lumens, its 2000 over
LED lumens aren't ANSI lumens.
Why the dedicated slot for WiFi... because getting a whole new product to go through FCC and all other international Radio emissions regulations for International WiFi approvals is EXTREMELY time consuming, and a VERY expensive part of product development. They already had a WiFi dongle that was approved, just stick it in and the projector hits the market about a year earlier. I would find it hard to believe though, that you are limited to strictly the Viewsonic dongle....
If I remember rightly, wifi uses unlicensed spectrum in the USA, meaning they wouldn't need to do any level of regulation management.
While true that it is "unlicensed", all equipment with intentional radio frequency radiators embedded in it is required to pass FCC regulations.

Ok, so just as the lowest link you posted suggests, they could have just used the same actual chipset but internally, and with a better antenna, or any other off-the-shelf options.
Not just the same chipset, but a complete pre-certified module, which clearly includes the antenna since changing the antenna has huge implications on the performance as well as emitted signal strength... which is strictly limited in µV/meter.
Among many other products, most WiFi enabled printers go this route... take one apart and you'll see these complete modules, usually mounted off-board to maximize signal performance.
I've been involved in the manufacturing FCC certification process, and it's never straightforward. Often we would design a new product with the exact same RF circuitry as a previous product, knowing it passed certification in that previous product, and should easily pass certification in the new product. But, we would DESIGN-IN a certain known flaw to give the certification company something to find wrong... because that's what they're paid to do. Then once they "found it" and failed our product in the first round, we would "fix" the design flaw, and it would always pass the second time around. These games are well known...
It's so they could offer two price points, with and without wifi. They must have changed their minds after the fact.
This is the only review that is overall negative...seems odd. In response to the gaming lag...any real gamer (pc) would never use a projector for serious gaming and so this point can be dismissed. Most of your points are petty. For the price it is a very good option and you get a lot for the money.
Well, It’s only your opinion and you’re entitled to it, Myself and two members of my family,It’s brilliant.
this review is overall negativ. i myself am using this projector and i'm very satisfied with it. for a few bucks you get an amazon fire tv stick, just stick that in and you have all the smart features you could wish. he didn't say anything about the picture quality which is amazing, with high brightness and vivid colors. i recommend using a contrast projection screen to get the best out of the viewsonic. the speakers are very good for a projector and not at all muffled, just don't expect too much on the base. i played some console games on the projector and i didn't sense any input lag, still wouldn't use it for pc gaming.
after long research i decided the viewsonic x10 is the best 4k 3D projector you can buy for this pricepoint.
Damn I want one
Thank you for this excellent video and HONEST review, I couldn't agree more.
How did you test the input lag? This has a max input lag of 67ms as tested by Joelster. Your review is highly suspect.
The lag is larger with frame interpolation. 60ms is pretty bad though.
Somehow I have a feeling like this X10-4K and the Philips Screeneo S4 share some similarity e.g. the limit of 30 chars for the wifi password, the smart TV apps are not working at all.
Nice bright light, similar design.
i love this systems
2400 Lumens
hi i just came off of watching one of your videos about the ASUS ROG Swift PG248Q 24” and the price has dropped on it 250 and i was thinking of buying it i was just wondering if there are any better one out there for around the same price and what im looking in a monitor is a 144hz or more, g sync, 1880p
I would love a projector in my living room, but it would have to be a better effort than this one, as it would be a replacement for my main TV, so it would need to be capable of some console gaming. This looks like it would just have too much input lag, even for a console, and that WI-FI solution is just plain bizarre, I am sure it made sense to someone!!??
It's 4K but not enough brightness and no Play Store.
for £1300 it is a terrible option. Buy the slightly older UHD51 (that What Hi-Fi said made 3D cool again). Viewsonics own models from last year are better than this.. LG's new 4k is only a couple of hundred more and give much better brighness and picture quality...this looks like a cheap knock off 'just good enough' projector from Gearbest... Even the Xaiomi one, which is oddly similar, is better value.
