My biggest pet peeve about projector reviews: 90% sitting around with the projector, 10% actual footage of it in use. 🙁 I realize it's important to show the unit and how it functions, but I wish there was a good solid 5-10 minutes of just projector footage: low light, bright light, with screen, without screen, various resolution source footage, games, you name it.

Ok I have an off this video topic question but I figure my question will have a better chance being seen on a recent video. My question is "why is it the more expensive, better quality projectors have considerably less lumens than less expensive ones? Example: a epson 5050eb has 2600 lumens and a 10 thousand dollar sony has only 1800 lumens or even less. Also what is the difference between "calibrated lumens" and non-calibrated lumens? Example:the "calibrated lumens for the epson 5050eb is 1800 lumens but its rated at 2600 lumens non-calibrated. I'm doing research on projectors because I will be purchasing one in March of next year to install in my currently being built home theater room. I'm very confused about alot of things concerning projectors and I want to know as much as I can before I actually buy one. Thank you in advance for your answer! This projector has 'LED Lumens' measurement which is based on perceived brightness rather than real brightness. The projector industry is notorious for having totally inaccurate claimed measurements for real world applications. The ANSI Lumens of this projector is around 750-1000 if that.

@@chumleyk yeah,this is what's so confusing to me. I have several people tell me the same thing that epson 5050ub is actually only around 1000 lumens give or take. My only issue with this is I've seen both the sony 295es sitting side by side with the epson 5050ub and the epson is considerably brighter so I just dont know what to think. Now that being said the sony had a considerably clearer image when sitting close to the screen. But sitting 10nto 12 feet away I honestly couldnt see a difference. My issue is I would really like to be able to have some ambient light when watching movies sometimes. I've just noticed the epson has a less washed out image with some light in the room. However neither have what I would call a perfect image with any ambient light. My issue is that one would think sony being a superior brand that they would have at least matching technology.

@@number1pappy Usually, for the same price range, brightness comes at the expense of balanced colours and other fidelities. Horses for courses.

Good video on the product features. Very helpful. Horrible audio on yr video. The intro music was was super loud, and your voice audio was low (& sounded like you were in a garage w/ tinny echo.) Audio levels needed to be leveled out. The back cover close (which you did repeatedly) was also super loud vs your voice level.

Not built in the box, it uses the dongle only for Wifi.
