Watching nick referring to the information he learned in previous episodes and giving a look at the camera is like watching my nephew proudly explaing specs of dinosaurs he learned at his kintergarden to me.
Pardon me while I get sincere in the comments for a minute, I’ve watched everything on both of your channels (and teach me daddy) over the last month as I’ve been going through an incredibly difficult time and I really really really appreciate you guys. You’ve helped me keep my head above water.
I'm sorry you had to go through this. I've been there recently, too. Getting closer to God helped me immeasurably. And My favorite youtubers kept me distracted and that was a huge help too. I pray and hope things get better for you.
Good for you finding what works to help thru the darkness. Sending hope and peace to your heart and mind. And I don't know if you see it, but the pun at the end of your comment is a good sign. 😊
True frienship love: Matteo: You are a jellyfish - you're a spineless poison filled amoeba Also Matteo: We need to go get tickets together Nick: I'll go without you Aw ... 💖
The magma layer of the earth doesn’t go to the core. It’s actually not that deep compared to some layers. It isn’t lava until it erupts from a volcano. Oceanographers study the ocean. Radius is from the middle to the edge 1800 miles. Diameter is from edge to edge 3600 miles
the ocean floor is mostly sand. as you get deeper it becomes more like an asphault consistency, which is the mantel, getting more liquid as you get closer to the core. The inner core, however, is solid.
Diameter is the distance around a spherical object, like the earth. Nick is correct in that the radius is the distance through the earth from one side, through the center to the other side.
@@michaeljones4380 You're talking about circumference. Diameter is twice the radius and is the straight line from a point in the circle passing through the center to the opposite point in the circle... circumference is the distance measured if you were, say, walking around the circle
Sea Turtles are amazing ocean animals! They all eat jellyfish - coicidence that Nick chose that as his favourite animal! Yes you do get freshwater jellies
Nick is so pure about what he doesn't know that you just have to accept and live with it. Matteo understands that, but like the good friend he is, he still tries to educate him.
“Isn’t your body like 80% water??” [just answered that question minutes earlier] No wonder Nick acts like everything he hears is new information every time 😂
I enjoy listening to the both of you so much!! The moment you both said "Oooooooo!" at the same time (the freshwater jellyfish moment), I laughed so hard that I woke my neighbors. 😹😹😹😹
And yet he can't pronounce "Appalachian" correctly. Having suffered through the two of them mispronouncing that so badly I nearly fell off the couch when he got New Foundland so nearly perfect on the first try
@@SCMelArts I thought the same thing 🤣 and for Appalachian he was staunch about how right he was. Fighting for it tooth and nail. Newfoundland he just said it and moved on.
This is my favorite podcast. It’s pure and genuine. So many podcasts want to create the feeling of friends just talking, but this just does it. If this wasn’t a podcast and a camera followed these two around without them knowing, we would get the same content and topics.
1:55 in a comedy podcast having to clarify something you say is comedy is, well, the ultimate joke 😂 15:13 Nick I hope you read this. We know earths core is molten because of seismic activity. Turns out earthquakes produce different types of waves. Some of these waves cannot cross liquid mediums. By measuring and mapping earthquakes and their waves, we know some of the waves during an earthquake seem to disappear. This means that the earth stops being solid at some point. Combined with data gathered by mapping the other waves we can conclude that the core of the earth is molten.
I just could not stop laughing at Nick's exasperation at these facts! Also, Nick was asking great questions and I learned a lot! You guys are hilarious!
absolutely with you on the jellyfish, Nick - they're delightful. My main reason for ever going to an aquarium. And Matteo is right when comparing Nick to a jellyfish, just his reasoning is faulty. Jellyfish are elegant creatures just floating along minding their own business and being fabulous.
Love these guys- I teach high school and it’s always funny- this episode is great because I teach science and I love questions ….no judgement ….love the curiosity
Watching nick referring to the information he learned in previous episodes and giving a look at the camera is like watching my nephew proudly explaing specs of dinosaurs he learned at his kintergarden to me.
I can’t believe I just posted basically the same thing lol 😂
As a geologist nick was actually asking great questions. He might enjoy learning geology
As a fellow geologist I agree! I was thinking the same thing
Ditto as a geology student!
Not a geologist, but I also felt they were very good questions!
Archaeologist. I concur. I kinda wish they looked up more. Makes me sad when people don't know what soil is. 😂
“Dirt with water in it”… god I love this podcast 😂 this is the MOST high but sober conversation I’ve ever heard and I LOVE it
DIAMETER. DIAMETER. THE WORD YOU WANT IS DIAMETER
They didn't cover that in Nick's school.
@@BiohazardBinkie777 Seems like there were a LOT of things not covered in Nick's school.
@@blemelin which is crazy cause its like the most basic stuff you could learn
I was screaming that at the screen and dying laughing every time he tried to imagine the earth's layers! bwahahahahahahha!
I was happy he knew the word radius was actually associated with something round. #mathteacherproblems
As an oceanographer, I assumed this episode would be intensely frustrating, and I was correct.
My husband is listening to me watching it and he’s like nope that’s not right and I had to explain this is not education it’s entertainment 😂
I’m not an oceanographer and it was frustrating to me. 😆😆

@@Jett-King yes. I felt it was demanded by the video.
Podcast idea: cruises! Would love to hear more about Matteo’s work on a cruise ship. ❤
“Leave Titanic ALONE!”
Matteo has a Chris Crocker moment there 😁
ty for this
We need Nick & Matteo on Amazing Race STAT! I could only imagine the arguing and hilarity that would ensue! 😂😂😂
The viewer retention from just the two of them squabbling would be enough for the studios to cheat and keep them in the race 🏃♂️🏃
I don't even really know what that show is but for agree.
AND "Survivor"!😂
Matteo is looking butch and Nick is ready for his Jazz ensemble recital. ❤
Haha
I feel like Nick borrowed that top from Liza Minnelli
AND ALL THAT JAZZ
I read that as rectal 🥴
This show is a gift to humanity.

Matteo: You are a jellyfish - you're a spineless poison filled amoeba

Nick: I'll go without you
Aw ... 💖
I love the callbacks "Like in Lake Michigan, apparently that's huge"
Nick saying Radius 12 times and I'm over here screaming "SOMEONE PLEASE SAY DIAMETER"
I was impressed that he knew there was a word for it! Continued with the wrong word, but it's still progress!
Funny as I was shouting circumference and I was so wrong...
to be fair, he is correct-the Earth’s radius is ~4,000 miles. The core starts about halfway to the center of the Earth.
As an earth science major. 5his was absolutely hilarious with a dash of infuriating. Hah. Love ya guys
Nick is that friend that instantly makes us feel smart. 🤭
i dont know, i feel stupider watching this.
Nick is absolutely correct. Jellyfish are so lovely.
Yes, and so are sea turtles!

I really like how this podcast feels like the internet coming together to give Nick a middle school education. I mean this in the most loving way.
I saw Nick's visit to Vermont. Nick was confused about whether or not Vermont bordered an ocean. It happened to be Lake Champlain.
I am also terrified of the ocean. Anywhere where I have to bring my own oxygen is a no go 😬
The magma layer of the earth doesn’t go to the core. It’s actually not that deep compared to some layers. It isn’t lava until it erupts from a volcano.

My thought exactly lol
Radius*
In usual Nick fashion, he was half right

Living in Nick's head would be a near breadth experience.
These need to be longer! I literally laugh out loud at work listening to this podcast
"you freak, bestiality is illegal " that part made me spit out my coffee lol
"Quote me on that" isn't it actually the Pacific? LMFAOOOO
Depends on how you measure events.
ohhh was he referring to the ring of fire?? lol
Nick is so pure about what he doesn't know that you just have to accept and live with it. Matteo understands that, but like the good friend he is, he still tries to educate him.
Nick should really be sponsored by the ocean at this point
And Lizzo is putting on a face to read him down again. LOL 😊❤
15:55 Matteo emphasizing how big space is to Nick is so funny
There are FIVE oceans.
1) Atlantic
2) Pacific
3) Indian
4) Arctic
5) Southern
Southern? You mean Antarctic Ocean?
There are 7 oceans: Arctic, North Atlantic, South Atlantic, North Pacific, South Pacific, Indian, and Antarctic Ocean
@@mattservais4795 No it's called the Southern Ocean. Comedians never pay attention in school if they even go.
Glad to see Nick retaining and applying his learning from other episodes 👏🏾👏🏾

I particularly love this episode because September 3rd I start an oceanology class . Perfect timing 😊
Conversion from feet to miles is hilarious. It's like that lady from the meme with numbers floating around her head.
It reminded me of the SNL sketch in which George Washington was explaining the US system of weights and measurements
"..does anyone know?" got me to spit out my water lol
I would watch a show of people trying to teach Nick basic skills. How to make a fire, first aid, etc.
And maybe the difference between radius and diameter
I live for Chris's giggling and reactions. also this might be my fav topic yall have done, gold.
in fact please do a ocean 2 episode and then space pleeeease... actually all topics covered in Montessori school would be awesome thank youuuuuuu :D
Now we need a show with you two exploring the oceans and teaching us all! That was hilarious and beautiful to see Nick’s wonder about our Big Blue! 💙
