Just got mine. Absolutely love it. I did set the throttle expo under profile 2 to zero. Also lowered the the battery voltages slightly. Seemed to improve the performance. I have the Tinyhawk 1 as well. The 2 offers a lot of new features and is an excellent value for the price. Also it's loads of fun indoors and outdoors. Happy flying!
I like the camera and vtx , and that you can adjust it but 2 minute flights is a deal breaker. I get almost twice that with my Tinyhawk on a 450 mah batt. Yea I'd say it needs some work....
Awesome idea, especially in your house. Probably the best FPV quality I’ve seen. I have a tinyhawk on order. If I choose to get this tinyHawk 2, will it work with the same transmitter. Thanks Albert.
I just bought the TinyHawkS and the battery connector of the THFreeStyle to mod it and use 2x1S as a single 2S Primarily because that connector doesn't have hollow pins and still let me use the quad with a single 1S My only concern is that the weight of the double 1S pack will be too much for it
funny toy sat that about the battery. i bought the TinyHawk S not to long ago i charged the 2s Battery flown it one time when i connected to my charger to charge again my charger told me i had a bad connection come to find out one of the cells were bad.
OK this is an open question to Mr Kim (of course) or anyone else who can solve what appears to be a throttle problem. Background: I have two Tinyhawks that appeared to have bad ESC on number 3 motor. After some great back and forth with Emax...they sent out two new FCs since they are all in ones. Installed and flew about 40 packs thru the two of them...no worries...I bound them to my brand new T16 and all was well...put them up for a few weeks. Pulled the Tinyhawks out yesterday and first one would only spin up numbrer 3 motor intermittently! Hmmm....no way i say, could i have really burned out the ESC again...they worked perfectly well when i put them up a few weeks ago. Re-seated the the motor plug for motor 3...no dice. Opened up Betaflight and checked the motor...after struggling to start...it then spun up and ran well. Tried to fly it around the apartment after letting it idle for a few seconds, and then got runaway error on goggles...then got all four spinning and it actually flew for few minutes. Then back to flippy floppy mode! Hmmm....i tried Tinyhawk number 2 and holy canole...same thing!! Same motor. How could this be. Hmmm....just for giggles i pulled out my Mobula7 which had also been flying great. Armed it and HEY, same dealio! Only rear two would not spool up at min throttle and runaway when throttle was advanced! I putzed around in Betaflight but could not figure out if i had throttle setting issues, which im inclined to believe as oppose to three dead drones (i hope not). For good measure i pulled out my brand new Tinyhawk S and it flew like a champ (its on the same model set up on T16 as my other Tinyhawks as suggested by Joshua B). What am i missing folks?? I'm a relative ludite with the new Jumper and tuning in general. Could batteries be the issue, ie; im harming the drones with bad or HV batteries?? (im using emax and gnb batteries which appear perfectly serviceable). Any advice or point in the right direction anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated (lol...internet snark notwithstanding...even though i know its sometimes too good for some to pass up). Cheers all, and happy holidays wherever you are...
I had to send back my OG tinyhawk under warranty. They replaced it/upgraded it with the Tinyhawk 2, soooo stoked!! Rough review of the battery life/flight times...I've had the same issue on my TH2. Has anyone tried the esc filtering with jazzmaveric or JESC on this V2?
Thanks for the info. I like the upgrade to the camera and VTX, but that flight time is a killer for me. Was the 1s flight short too? I didn't notice. I love my Tinyhawk, just wish it had a better camera...
Got the tiny s and got 3 mayor problems 1-VTX 2-Camera 3-Motor connectors For what I see here they solved 2 of them and I really hope the 3 one too. Now he's death so I have a bunch of batteries, a lot of spare props an motor doing nothing so like you mention this one have the same props and motor is a win win for me :)
Hi Albert or anyone else who might be able to answer this question.... I usually build and set up my own quads.....However I've decided I want an indoor smooth quad to fly around the house I did have a mobula7 over a year ago but even with throttle taming on betaflight I just couldn't get on with it and got rid of it. Watching a few youtube videos i'm now thinking of buying the new Emax tinyhawk 2 flying on 1s battery looks like a smooth indoor flyer (im not looking to race just to fly around the house under the tables chairs etc)...So here's my question ? My TX is a Taranis X9D+ Special Edition which is a EU version and my four outside quads all have EU software R-SXR receivers on them bound to D16. My Tx had either D16 or LR12 bind modes....Ive just put the latest Taranis update on my radio not ticking 'eu' on Open TX when I flashed it so now I have the option of either D16 or D8 binding. I've read online that through betaflight in the receiver option you can change the tinyhawk 2 from a 'Frsky D for 8 channel' to 'Frsky X for 16 channel' so the real question is this.....Can I now bind in D8 Mode or D16 Mode and what would be the difference am I still getting full telemetry in both ? I only have one model set up in my Tx so all my quads are bound to that ie D16 mode so if I bound to D8 my other models wouldn't work unless I created a second model to bind in D8 ? Basically if I bound in D16 like all the other four quads I could then run the tinyhawk on the one model set up but would I still get telemetry ? I'm just trying to work out the difference between D8 and D16 ? The Emax tinyhawk states its a spi receiver compatible with Frsky D8 mode ? Thanks for any advice .
The SPI receiver stores the transmitter ID on the flight controller. You can see it in the CLI dump. So if you bind it in D16 mode, you can also see it in D8 mode if you change the protocol in Betaflight to FrSky_D. However, I copied my D8 model from my D16 model and changed the protocol to D8 in the model setup. So this way I can go back and forth. I also have like 300 models bound to each model with no conflicts.
Hi Albert, Thanks for the excellent review. In your honest opinion if you had to chose between the TH II and the BetaFPV Meteor75, which one would you buy? Thanks, Sam
Albert Kim Hi Albert, Thank you for your honest opinion. I already have the TinyHawk S, so that affirms my decision to get the TH II. that way I can use the same batteries (even if I change all of the connectors to XT30. Cheers, Sam
You can bind to the RTF goggles and controller but you'll need to adjust your rates. I don't think the LEDs can be disabled. You'll need to desolder and remove them.
@@AlbertKimTV Hi Albert, that's good to know, since I invested in the original TinyHawk RTF which came with transmitter/goggles and if they're bindable as you say, then I can easily upgrade to the TH2!

Great review, Albert. The Tinyhawk S was my first quad earlier this year. I'll probably skip this (reduced flight time and price) as I have a Mobula6 on the way. Keep up the great work! 👍
Hi Albert, I really like your videos, they are interesting and very informative, I was hoping you would help me out by either sending a link or explaining the steps to get the RSSI or link quality up in the OSD. I’ll be using Open TX protocol, a tango2 with the TBS Open TX module. Thanks very much.
If you are using the onboard SPI D8 receiver, you just have to make sure analog RSSI is disabled and also the AUX channel RSSI is disabled. Then just stick the RSSI OSD element somewhere on the screen in the OSD tab. The process for other receivers varies by protocol. Some require special wiring and parts. I think there are 15-30 minute videos out there for each receiver type. It can get pretty complicated if you're using something other than the built-in D8 receiver.
@@AlbertKimTV Thanks very much Albert, that must be my mistake all along, I’ve always turned in on in BetaFlight thinking that was the correct way, I feel like a real dope, I appreciate your reply👍
Very nice but just like the ths it needs a xt30 for max performance. I do love that they soldered the motor leads on that’s better for voltage flow. Why could they not bring out dedicated 1s or 2s really gets me. The flight times are way too short and way too much voltage sag for 2s, plus having a throttle limit tells me that the power losses in the motor most be huge. No dedicated spektrum or flysky receiver adding more weight. Shame really, i like the frame and design but its trying to do too much with too many compromises.
Why does make emax use such a bad connector for 2s? If they used BT2.0 it wont have as much voltage sag on 2s. I wont spend Money on that Quad. It's Not good enough compared to Others.
