Got a late 2012 FJCW and thought I'd just say the N14 engine is just fine on the Later ones (LCI), as the timing chain tensioners had many revisions. Use decent (millers) oil, and keep em topped up and there's nothing at all to worry about. Don't be put off by the N14 at all. I'm on my 3rd (two previous R53's) and I looked for months for mine its got the GP2 alcantara interior which just finished it off superb as those shocking seats (even the lounge leather) are a real let down.
Man amazing little car the spoiler and diffuser she looks tough as hell. I'm the same way I always have to have a hot hatch it's the eagerness and how nimble they are and there just beautiful. I'm 6 foot 7 and wear my 97 civic hatch if you know what I mean. Always great videos adam like the new intro too.
Wasn't a fan of the BMW Mini when it first came out. Changed my tune when we had a few supercharged Coopers come through the warehouse i worked at, was quite impressed. They've come a long way over the years, as shown by this example. Dudes got a nice bit of kit. =]
i had a 60 plate cooper s (facelift) and loved it! went from a 60hp polo to that the day my 1st year no claims came in, ended up crashing it (surprisingly not speed related) but am definitely going to get another one... my mum currently has a 2012 JCW convertible and it makes me jealous everyday 😂 anyway great car and great vid👍🏼
Girlfriend has the R53 factory JCW with the supercharger and while I much prefer that generation over the turbocharged models, I've no doubt that they are still a great car to drive in terms of fun and handling like I find with hers. Under-rated cars!
Was never fan of the mini when BMW took them over but after seeing this my opinion has changed and I have seen this car at a car meet in Harlow but never knew how mad it was

Don't worry about the boys haha these jcw's are now way girls cars haha seriously underrated imo, quick too, they always make more power than they claim, I had a jcw gp2 for while, had I dynoed twice in my ownership first with about 5k on and made 238bhp bog standard then again with about 10k on and made exactly the same power again but once ran in made considerable more tourqe but can't remember off the top of my head what though, one car I wish I still had mind!
I have a 2009 r56 cooper s and guys absolutely love it, if you do the right mods as this video, they can look bad ass and super easy if you want to have your car do pops and bangs, they sounds badass, and are quick little cars

Cars for girls is the Fiat 500. If you buy a Mini Jcw r56 and put a catless downpipe you will love it. I have a r56 jcw and it's so loud, i love it and the people always look because of the noise and it has a ecu remap. Has 250 hp and it does 270 km/h. Soon i'm putting 300 hp and launch control. Every day i love it more and more!

I haven't experimented with the sport mode much, but I've NEVER gotten that many pops from my exhaust... I know they talked about it some but I was having trouble understanding them with the accent and mic quality...
Awesome cars would love one. I think people that call them a girls car have never driven one. Just a shame they’re way too small inside to be practical, and they’re ridiculously over priced for what they are, just like every bmw. To remain true to the original mini they’re also unreliable as hell. But yeah awesome cars, fun, fast and handle like they’re on rails and sound mint.
Chris Leake Unreliable ? I’m on my seventh since they were first launched. Never had one issue with any of them apart from a battery giving up on my 2014 R58 JCW after four years. That car sits on my driveway until weekends along with my daily driver 2017 Countryman S, which coincidentally hasn’t had one problem either. Like any other car, keep it regularly serviced and maintained by a reputable company, drive it within the factory limits and it’ll give you smiles for many miles. Don’t believe some of the bs about Minis being unreliable, if they’re treated properly they’ll last a very long time.

I've got an n14 JCW bit of a difference in mpg, I get like 22 mpg from ragging it about.

My 2014 (n18) JCW averages 32 mpg in town, 38/9 mpg combined.
