Such a haunting quality to Agnetha’s voice. When Agnetha sings a ballad like this, so beautiful, so emotional, so believable it is simply a transcendent experience, like an angel is singing just for us. Benny at the 2010 RRHOF ceremony said there is an underlying “ melancholia you can hear in the music from Sweden and Scandinavia. You can see it in the eyes of Greta Garbo and you can hear it in the voices of Agnetha and Frida.” Such classy acceptance speeches by Frida and Benny check it out on UA-cam. Thanks Matt for your work on these reactions. 👍
This song was one of the lesser known album tracks. However it rose in popularity a few years ago, when it was the key music in the finale of the movie Mama Mia 2, where it hit all the right notes and had a lot of emotional punch.
I really love this one. Agnetha sounds so angelic, and those layered backing harmonies feel like a warm blanket. The subtle bells also give it a Christmas vibe. Definitely listen to it again with headphones.
I've been waiting for these, Matt how good that You came to this special song "My love My life" (1976) Is in my Top3 of all Arrival album and in my opinion is the best ABBA ballad although these lyrics are sad, farewell, heartbroken It is a beautiful melody in an almost symphonic tone (like no other ABBA song, until 2021 in their comeback album Voyage) and Agnetha's voice rises to superlative levels very well accompanied in the choirs but She takes all the leadership and finishes with a powerful record Her ex husband, the guitarist songwriter Björn, said that in these song could see the power ranger of Agnetha's soprano voice in my opinion it is one of the seven wonders of Agnetha in ABBA, Her best vocal interpretations: S.O.S. (1974/75) I've been waiting for you (1974/75) My love My life (1976) Thank you for the music (1977) The winner takes it all (1980) Slepping through my fingers (1981) Don't shut me down (2017/2021) there's a video very special I think it's the only one in which a single ABBA member stars from begin to finish, and that's Agnetha (these vídeo is part of a Special TV, Agnetha appears alone but the recording is with all ABBA members) so She can be seen in the close-ups of Her gestures and emotions, She is absolutely beautiful in this context These is the link to see Agnetha performing "My love my life" ua-cam.com/video/C7oiWbA6hDc/v-deo.html "My love my life" have only one TV perfomanece, when ABBA goles to Poland, they aré in kimono suite "My love my life" was the last song recorded in "Arrival" album, after "When I kissed the teacher" And there's a recopilation album of Agnetha as soloist tittle "My love my life"

The separation theme and the more sadder experiences of relationships will start to become a focus from now on. Even the happier sounding songs have a deep melancholy about them. That’s the genius of their songs, there are so many layers. Not just musically but also lyrically.
Hey Dan,Japan?I know only 2 filmed version of this track. One from Polish tv all dressed in their Japanese kimono outfits)and one from Swedish tv for the domestic 'Abbadabbadoo special'.I might have missed smth.
My Love My Life has never been a favourite song, however I really enjoy it from time to time. I often feel very emotional watching your reactions as you discover and appreciate the beauty of ABBA. And remember, it still gets better than this!
Cheers, I love to hear that. Appreciate the support! And nice, I'm already loving ABBA's music but people keep telling me it continues to get even better. :)
When it comes to ABBA (or Scandinavians in general) it wise to not bet on "happy" ;D For me this is one of the main reasons why people should listen to Arrival.
Great reaction. But if trying to "guess" the theme of an ABBA song......... Go dark and heartbroken....... ha ha....... But usually with an upbeat melody.....
Haha, cheers, a couple folks have made that point. It is amazing how they combine energetic and fun rhythms with lyrics speaking to pain and heartbreak.
Great reaction! There is a brilliant video of this where Agnetha's emotions come to the fore when singing this song, alone in the frame against an orange backdrop. Moving! ua-cam.com/video/1t_07fROU3A/v-deo.html
Agnetha Faltskog had a perfectly pitched voice, Fil from the Wings of Pegasus did an analysis of her voice both in the Studio and in Concert and her voice never wavered from each. She was always spot on in her pitch of her voice. Agnetha was a real talent and learned her craft at an extremely young age. No wonder why she was one of the best female singers of all time.
Although I like "My Love, My Life", the song is a tad melodramatic, in this case, I much prefer "I've Been Waiting for You". Both songs were used in the second Mamma Mia movie, so ABBA (Bjorn) rewrote the lyrics replacing the romantic love between a couple with a maternal love between mother and daughter. I still believe that the original lyrics are better. ✌
Now, that´s voice skills. No autotune needed. Just WOW!
Agnetha's voice! Pure magic!
Another song by them I adore and I love the orchestra!
Like an image passing by My Love, My Life
In the mirror of your eyes 👍
Another classic break up song superbly sung by Agnetha.

What a gem of a song. Benny and Bjorn wrote this song especially for Agnetha and her vocal delivery is just beyond amazing 👌
I really love this one. Agnetha sounds so angelic, and those layered backing harmonies feel like a warm blanket. The subtle bells also give it a Christmas vibe. Definitely listen to it again with headphones.

there's a video very special
I think it's the only one in which a single ABBA member stars from begin to finish, and that's Agnetha
(these vídeo is part of a Special TV, Agnetha appears alone but the recording is with all ABBA members)
so She can be seen in the close-ups of Her gestures and emotions, She is absolutely beautiful in this context

Their studio producer, Michael Tretow once said that Agneta was able to like "crying" a song.. and I think this is a really good example of this.

Beautiful. Pure and simple.
Agnetha looks so angelic singing this in the Japan tour video.

@@christianoazzuro6711 I keep saying Japan when it was Poland!
I'm getting old, sorry.
Yes the Polish TV one is where I am getting confused.
@@Muckylittleme Oh i see,i guess their kimono outfits in the Polish show performance got you confused lol.
@@christianoazzuro6711 Yeah, funny thing is, I don't think they wore them in Japan. 😀
A little sad, but it's a beautiful song.
Agnetha sings like an angel on this one.
Keep slepping Lucca... See ya, Matt

The 'atmosphere' was inpired by 10cc Im not in love, I believe. Agentha did an incredible emotional job here!
Agnetha Faltskog at her very best, She just has the kind of voice for ballads and love songs.
Great reaction. But if trying to "guess" the theme of an ABBA song......... Go dark and heartbroken....... ha ha....... But usually with an upbeat melody.....
