- I am beginning to find and spec all the parts I need to start the 6.0L LS swap for my 2002 Silverado. A significant key to the success of this build is the cylinder heads I choose. I did my research and found that the 243 design will work very well. I got a set of 243's from eBay, and I wanted to share that with all my viewers. My man 💯 early wit it
my man! The support is always appreciated, thanks.
I'm building the 6.0 up in my Hummer h2. I know there's nothing on the planet that will make that car fast. I just want a little more responsiveness from it. And I researched all of these heads (and cams) and I'm going with the 243. But my man, I just want to say that this was the only video that I found where they actually had a side-by-side comparison and not just computer animations. Thanks for taking your time to put this out there. God bless
@@caseyberry6959 oh man that’s great to hear. I appreciate the words and I’m glad the video could help. Good luck with your project
Thoughts on an lq4 with 243 heads, truck Norris cam, tbss intake, 50lbs injectors, 1 7/8 long tube headers? That is my planned build.
Just earned a new sub 👍🏽 I appreciate the info man I’m new to all this LS stuff man
It’s a lot of info about these LS engines. Learn all you can
What’s that black bracket piece behind the original head by any chance do we need swap it to the new head trying figure it out
@@MandoZamora-u4h that is like a fuel rain surge bracket. It is not necessary and only for OEM fuel rails. I don’t have it anymore
I heard katech has a porting service on cathedral port heads for $499.99
I wonder how would 799 heads under boost on a lq9 with btr ls3 supercharger cam
I'm just trying to decide if I'm wasting money going from my 317 heads to 243. 6.0 engine inside a of body. I want more power
317 and 243 are supposed to have similar intake flow rates. 243 have a better intake runner finish. The advantage is that 243 have a smaller combustion chamber yielding higher compression. The 317 chambers are way over sized. The solution is to mill down 317 heads if you don’t want to buy totally new heads
Are send those 317 to Texas speed for a stage 1 port job on them. I'm waiting for them to send my 243's back. I had a stage 2.5 port service done that I want to put on my 6.0.
@@marcusmumphrey6995 how much was it and wen u sent them did they port and mil them or just port
Thoughts on a lm7 5.3 with trucknorris cam , i want to put 243 heads
I’ve heard that cam runs pretty good. I would 100% consider
@@Stan1le thanks man!
think I would have got rec port heads, better in every way
@@LSturboguy I can agree but they cost much more
Thanks for the 243’s video. I put new 243’s on my Hummer H2. 6.0 lq4. I was told by the tuner guy that I have too much compression because I added a summit truck cam for lower end torque. Any suggestions on how to get better performance out of my engine. I do have a cold air intake. I wanted to do long tube headers but haven’t done that as of yet. My performance sucks. And I’m getting misfire’s now. Any suggestions, Thanks.
That is a good question I am currently doing a cam swap on my hummer H2 as well. I just put in the 317 heads on it but I wanted to get some more performance out of a head I just try to do some research on which head I was told the 706 was a good combination for the cam that I’m putting in but I’m still trying to gather more information before I make my final choice
You got some other problems. Not sure what but a head and cam swap should not be causing these problems.
What injectors are you using?
What head gasket are you using on that 6.0/243 combo.Part number if you have it please?

@@Stan1le what about the head bolts I using the same head on my 6.0 iron block. What’s your taught on the ARP-134-3610?
@@SuperLattifa1 ARP anything is better than stock. I used head ARP head studs for this build.
Let Texas Speed work their magic on them.
Sent them to Frankenstein for this set.
@@Stan1le nice!
Bro please tell me what camera that is !
Just a Sony A7iii and a 20mm 1.8 lens
Compression is your friend, the 862s will put you at 11.4 ratio and e85 they would be beast
Built this for the future, as well as this truck not capable of running e85 yet. Not looking to run that type of compression in a boosted setup so these heads are on the money for me.
286 heads are what I'm looking for in my build. LS1 std bore, 4"stroke makes it 383. Redux ITB's and 1&7/8 long tubes. Building for torque and economy. With the occasional burst. It's a daily driver street sedan. But finding those heads here in New Zealand is a nightmare, import costs are mad to frustrate things further. Easily found, but Dame expensive to get here
More like 10.4:1.
New sub my guy
Much appreciated
