One of my favorite movies ever, starring a wonderful Phoebe Cates. When I learned that the film was based on this true story, I nearly fell out of my TV recliner.
The woman was a brilliant, creative genius.
Fraud*
For some reason this reminds me of an ancestor of mine who used to take part in a hypnotist act where he used to pretend he was hypnotized. He actually got pricked with pins during the show and he faked his way through it. People thought he was simple minded, but in actuality he was extremely smart. He actually taught himself engineering which is not exactly something easy to do if you only have a second grade education, it must have been enough.
Mary Baker had so much courage!
The actress who plays Caraboo in this is adorable!
We need a remake of this! 1994 movie was great. Need a new movie for the new generations. Love this channel!
"She continued to sleep on the floor and would dance wildly, sometimes without clothing..." Cocaine's a helluva drug.
Haha, thanks for watching ML!
The Folklorist Thank you for making these videos.
Did they even have cocaine back then?
@@samuelplacensia9979 Hey Bro. Cocaine comes from the south american coca plant. Since time began people have been chewing on it's leaves and feeling it's effects. Cocaine was extracted from those leaves in the 1800's by scientists.
Thanks for this. A true story, unlike the movie which had some truth to it. It’s Hollywood, characters added to the true story that did not exist in the real story. Amazing what she did and amazing how it played out. 😮😊
Kasper Hauser’s lost sister 😂 great story!
