What’s so funny is I sat next to David Spade on an airplane once going to LA. When we got off I couldn’t resist telling him buh bye. He laughed, we laughed and buh bye!
that's kinda awesome lol
im jealous haha
I bet he's never heard that before when flying. This sketch was the only thing he was known for for 10 years.
Lol thats awesome
whats so funny is that i once sat next to david spade on a flight going to cleveland, and david told me about this person who once said buh bye to him on a flight going to LA. he said to me who the heck says buh bye like that? is that person retarded or something?, did they get hit in the head one to many times?
I love the fact that the third crew member comes just to say more "buh bye"s.
To Sarah Silverman !
Reinforcement buh byes are to be appreciated.
Lies again? Bus Trinity
And her smug smile after the passenger leaves.
Called over specifically for that purpose. 🤣
“Which part didn’t you understand? The ‘buh’, or the ‘bye’”?
Stellar.
For some reason the “knock knock” “who’s there” “buh bye” killed me 🤣
Esp when that handsome man acting as if he was expecting the stewardess will treat him different lol
I don't get it.
RIP handsome man
@@KeithCarey33 Norm Macdonald.
I assume because it’s Norm he tried to tell jokes during the flight to lighten the mood so she finally had one for him.
"What part didn't you understand? The ba, or the bye?" Helen Hunt was hysterically funny in this skit.
Spade was funnier, especially when dealing with Meadows.
Been looking for this skit for years. I've used that line. Love her work.
She is awful
Literally nothing funny about helen hunt
@@tt55899 you know her dad was gordon hunt Hanna-Barbera’s original Voice Director, right?
Farley and Sandler ready to throw down with Spade is hilarious
I love that they actively delay people while insisting they are trying to rush them.
The 70s digression is great
This skit must set the record for the most number of regulars in one skit.
Even after all these years, my kids still say, “ Buh bye “, when our phone calls come to a end. Classic!!
That was one of the best eras for SNL. So many funny people on that cast. Definitely one of my favorite skits.
David Spade and Dana Carvey have a podcast where they interview a lot of former cast and writers, as well as hosts.
It's hilarious and you usually get some pretty good inside stories.
And yet, this was in now way funny or even entertaining
I agree. I always made it home to catch the last hour no matter what or always made sure I had access to a TV. A lot of the stars of this era became huge stars and well deserved.RIP Chris Farley and Norm. I was listening to a sports radio show today and they said buh-bye so of course I had to watch it again. The Saturday Night Live now is too political and honestly not funny. Wel done!
To think the critics at the time panned it. Alas we were witnessing one of the last great eras.
this skit was like below average, dont know what you talking about haha
Unbelievable cast on that flight.....
Helen Hunt
David Spade
Kevin Nealon
Mike Myers
Chris Farley (RIP)
Rob Schneider
Adam Sandler
Norm MacDonald (RIP)
Tim Meadows
I was thinking the same thing. Such a crazy cast for such an unfunny skit.
Sarah Silverman
Cana Dude,
John Sebastian listening to the 70's music.
@@johndoe9362 that's Tom Davis, not John Sebastian.
And Jay Mohr just before Mike Meyers.
Today Pegleg, today! LMAO!!!
"Today! Peg-leg, today!" ROFLLL omg I love David Spade.
Pissed off Chris Farley, Adam Sandler threatening to kick ass, Rob Schneider on crutches, and Norm MacDonald???? Holy crap, this skit is awesome!!
How long is a prison sentence for threatening a flight attendant today?
@@MisterMikeTexas I have no idea.
Buh bye
Lol
Mike myers too
Every time I fly (which isn't often), I always say "Buh bye" as I exit the plane.
I never get a buh bye back.
But ONE time, flying Southwest, I did. It was GLORIOUS.
A story to pass on to your grandkids
Maybe they’re not permitted to say buh-bye?
Awesome!!!
Favorite part is Julia Sweeney coming in for the support trio on the mass b’byes! Classic! Great contribution.
That's the best part
Gender neutral Pat?
This skit lives rent free in my head. It’s literally the best one ever!!!
"YOU: I'm cool, I wear a suit. No way am I a loser." "Well you're wrong. Now, buh bye!" David Spade was perfect for this skit.
Chris Farley and David Spade had great chemistry, the sketch was for less than 5-10 seconds and still manage to make us laugh
Tommy Boy is still one of my all-time favorite comedies.
I thought the same
They were friends, I saw David Spade cry talking about him. I've seen Adam Sandler cry about him, and several others. He was so funny, I cried when he died. He and Phil Hartman will forever be two of my favorite comedians.
Helen Hunt looks fabulous. I love her ❤❤❤
Even seeing Farley and Spade for a short while still has me dying 😂😂😂
"You're very heavy" 🤣 🤣
“What did you say to me” 😡😡
@moneyboysupreme4821 nothing nothing Buh Bye x 40, why would I say anything else😂
The 90s SNL was fantastic - the early/mid 90s talent stack was really great, and the late 90s Will Ferrell era was amazing as well
I’m a flight attendant, I say buh-bye during deplaning in my head, honestly I wish I could say this to pax sometimes hahaha
Absolutely, just “expedited deboarding”!
My entire life would be made if a flight crew did this to a flight I was on 😆😆
It would make my day to hear that after a long journey
Just realise that deplaning is not a word. And I bet you don’t know the difference between “momentarily” and “in a moment” when you say “we’ll be in the air momentarily”.
You can say it to me!
David Spade at 3:14 had me on the floor laughing til my sides hurt 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Norm looks so good in this sketch 😍😍😍
I was in initial flight attendant training with Delta around the time this skit aired and they actually showed it to us. It was so damn funny during the tension and tedium of training and meant as a how not to guide for us newbies. I swear that in nearly 29 years of flying I have never said “buh bye “ to passengers as they’ve deplaned. 😆
I was flying on Air Canada and United last year, and would hesitate at the door, waiting to hear it, but, just got silence.
Aw come on! I always buh bye the flight attendants when I leave the plane just to see what they will do.
If I ever see you disembarking me I will trick you into saying "buh bye". That's a promise.
I was an early 90s Deltoid too... I 1000% said this during deplaning 🤣
@@nodramamama838
That’s so funny. I started in the spring of 94 and I’m still sluggin’ sodas. Through all the ups and downs, Delta has been a pretty great place to work, but I definitely put down the the kool-aid during and after bankruptcy. It just ain’t the same.
I’m sure if I’d started a few years earlier and hadn’t seen this skit, I would have bombarded folks with the buh-byes. 😜
Why does David Spade look like he's wearing his father's suit for his first communion?
Because Total Bastard Airlines suck so much, they don't offer their workers decent uniforms, which is why the employees are so rude and take their frustrations out on the passengers. That's Total Bastard Airlines for ya... Buh Bye...
Because he is about 5 ft 2 in. tall and weighs 125 lbs.
Getting back at Farley for wearing his jacket in Tommy Boy
So many great talents in this skit and Rob Schneider.
David Spade was also there and should not be included in a list of talented people.
CakeSublime and Adam Sandler
bb
Mumrik 90’s Rob was the best
You: Oh, I'd like to compliment all the people in this funny--
Me: Buh-bye.
70's hits David Spade sings at 3:10. 1. Le Freak Chic. 2.
The Hustle Van McCoy. 3. That's The Way I Like It KC & The Sunshine Band.
This sketch is older now than those songs were when it originally aired.
Nerd Alert!!!
🤓 🚨!!!
Thx wasn't sure on the first one.
Thx
I knew it all,but it is very nice of you to listed them. Tnx
Such a simple skit yet so effectively hilarious 😆
Cant believe they only did one skit of this,,, What were you thinking Lorne,,,, Its a classic,,,
They actually did another in the S20 premiere with Steve Martin. It was awful. Some sketches are just best one bit.
Jesus I've never seen more recognized actors in a scene in my life
Awww... Even the wardrobe blazer is too big for David Spade.
Skinny guy in a big coat!
@@kobrien4121 Don't do it, Richard!!
Favorite Little Rascal : Spanky
Buh bye
Daniel Juncos lmao👍🏼😂👍🏼
Spade is a comic genius. so underrated
He really is. He is the top of the class with self-deprecating humor and sarcasm
Yeah. When he's really on, which is often, he makes it look incredibly easy. (But it's not.) He's a great pro.
90's SNL was the best. I remember watching so many of these great skits when I was a kid. Good old days.
I can't agree more
This program in 90s was da best
@@henryking2382 Sofa King Good!
70s was the best doh, golden
They had some good skits and characters, but far from 'the best'. Most we will agree that the Eddie Murphy era was 'the best'.
Wow. I was 8 when this came out... I totally remember watching this when it aired and Helen Hunt going "What part didn't you understand, the buh or the bye?" has been etched in the dark recesses of my mind for years
This was an SNL skit? At first I thought it was security footage from a random United Airlines flight. Oh, in that case - very funny!
+llongone2 Pretty much most American airlines! hahaa
SPIRIT
Ya total assholes I wouldn't talk disgusting lesser human employee and owners if untied airlines if they paid me
If you didn't know what this was you'd think it was a Spirit Airlines training video.
Check this out lion ....bye bye with that comment BYE BYE...
Julia Sweeney’s few seconds are absolute gold.
Insane cast!!
And guests!!
Classic!!
Spade absolutely KILLS as always 🌹
So many legends in this sketch!!!
bah by
midnightshadow Best cast ever!
I know, right !?!
3/4 of them you never heard from again.
I wouldn't call most of these people legends. Farley and Sandler yes but the rest of them were just filler.
Saying ba bye in the tune of the 70's Greatest Hits!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's 2023 and I still say buh-bye to this day.
The amount of comic talent in that one sketch.
It's amazing how SNL predicted Spirit Airlines.
Buh bye
What's sad is, when this aired, people even in 1994 were already saying that airlines were going downhill with employee attitudes and poor customer service. My parents sure were, because they could remember flying in the 60s , 70s and even 80s when people were still treated with respect. I look at airlines today, and think damn, I thought it was bad back in the 90s, but those days still seem pretty good compared to now.
@@caseyl3789 That's why I don't fly and because I'm afraid of flying
@@caseyl3789 "Here's you, flapping your mouth about how bad the airline industry is today. Here's me: BUH-BYE !!" 😁🤣
Monday my flight was supposed to leave at 4:30pm on Spirit. It was delayed to 530 and then 630 and then 645 and then finally 12:15 AM the next day. They gave me a $35 food voucher and a $50 flight voucher. Whenever spirit gives you a voucher is never good for where you need to fly. buh bye
I think they're actually more friendly and responsive than either Spirit or Frontier Airlines flight staff was the last time I flew.
“Buh bye... You’re very heavy!”
If you say "buh-BYE" leaving a flight, the flight attendants will usually crack up laughing.
I will never forget the rudeness and audacity the flight attendants of the UA showed me.
agreed that UA are awful.
did you know they don't pay their attendants when the plane has docked with the gate? that's right, their attendants are working FOR FREE when everyone deplanes.
Hey Chris Farley!
Buh bye.
Miss you buddy.
XxFoxMotoX3xX I’ve never seen a more obvious plea for thumbs up. Denied. Buh bye.
@@TheGodYouWishYouKnew buh bye!
@@TheGodYouWishYouKnew did you try to make a comment ? Buhbye!
Both of you buh bye
Funny you made a comment and everyone's ripping on you. ????? People are dicks
I remember watching this in high school. “Which part didn’t you get, the Ba or the Bye?” became our go to catch phrase 😂
2:12 Adam Sandler "I'm gonna be waitin' for you outside of the terminal."
I'M GOING TO KICK THE CRAP OUT OF YOU !!! 😡😡😡
"No no, there's more....I'm gonna pound your face in" 😂
Knock knock!
Who’s there?
Buh bye 😂
I've been saying "buh bye" non-stop for over half an hour after watching this sketch. Thanks buh bye
My brother is an airline pilot and his wife a flight attendant. After this first aired my brother would say "buh bye" to her during arguments. And, yes, they're still married.
After this came out in the 1990s that's all we ever said when we hung up the phone or the people anytime anywhere
I've flown that airline. They called themselves Spirit though.
The premiere of Spade's "Buh-bye"
Woooow an all star ensemble in this sketch!!!!!
*skit
@@benxvariety8878 Did you just try to correct him? Because 'sketch' is a correct term too. Just googling for 'skit' if you don't believe... They're synonyms. 😅
Plus Rob Schneider!
Damn, Spade is freaking EPIC in this skit.
Also, good thing for this airline that there was no Yelp back then.
David Spade got lucky and he found his "voice" and the right character that allows him to shine as a star. What he does is low key but because it's right for him it really works. However he is great in this skit.
The amount famous people in this. Makes this even more funnier haha
SNL has had several golden eras of casts. This was definitely one.
Just a regular show in early 90s. People would have a hard time naming 3 cast members from today's SNL.
All the unruly passengers should fly this airline!!!
I Laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes. I didn't know Helen Hunt could be so funny. David Spade is awesome too. Great SNL skit.
Yup, she was on a sitcom, “Mad About You” for a few years
Helen Hunt is terrific! ❤
Helen Hunt started as a sitcom actress, so she knew comedy. It was Twister & As Good As It Gets that turned her into a legit movie star.
I love how they need security to escort them
Much like #FledTed Cruz.
@@tejaswoman lol true
The impressiveness of this cast is astounding
OMG Young Sarah Silverman 1:22 She was 🔥🔥🔥
Wow, sexist AND ageist -- you're quite the catch!
Grow the phuqq up and start treating women like people, not like pieces of meat.
She damn sure never been funny.
@@Dynamo001 she was funny
@@cartooncentral263 Far from it.
I love those two, especially when the guy was singing bye-bye, that was hularious
Spade’s coat is like two sizes too big for him 👍🏽😁
Fat coat on a little guy!
A.k.a. "How your doctors office treats its patients in 2020"
I counted 15 famous comedians in this short SNL skit. What other show can prance out such talent and it's only one of 6 skits of that night?
And this was in 1994, back when air travel was super easy, barely an inconvenience.
i can report air travel sucked in Continental-now-United, Houston/Newark/London, 1987-91
Oh cross generational catch phrases are tight!
3:38 “Security! We’re getting off the plane, can we get an escort through the terminal? Thanks! Buh-Bye!”
The funniest thing about this sketch is they are hurrying the passengers yet all their antics is whats really wasting time 😂
I loved this skit soooooo much when I saw it live. I was really really hopin they'd run it into the ground with dozens of sequels.
Helen Hunt here 😍
Feels so crazy seeing one famous comedian after another coming up the line!
Helen Hunt is the best at deadpanning. A true pro.
OMG, the seats! - Spirit Airlines currently have those exact old seats!
"Thanks for flying Kuzco Airlines, Buh Bye now, Buh Bye..."
Loved this skit; truly a classic.
(To Chris Farley) "Buh-Bye......you're very heavy....." "What'd you say!?" 😂😂😅
Love that the whole cast is in it! Classic Spade
One of my favorite SNL clips of all-time.
I know, the first sink skit I ever saw. Loved David Spade!
i like how rob schneider points to his “third leg” and says he broke his leg 😂
Melanie Hutsell at 1:20 from Maryville, TN. Also the home of Ruby Tuesday's, Mastercraft boats and now Smith & Wesson's NEW HQ. Great place to visit when you come see the Smoky Mountains!!
Sir, this is an NRA free zone, sir.
Just said “Buh-bye” this morning to someone. In this SNL way. It never gets old!
3:43 he flips everyone off lol
One of their best skits EVER! Hahahahaha.
Ryanair just opens the door and leans the plane.
The best Cast ever of SNL

Classic D. Spade
Sarah Silverman has not aged since 1994
ocnutter93 was she the air hostess ?
hamad saheem one of the passengers arguing
She is hot. Unfortunately she's also a far left liberal freak.
I know!!! What the hell?
I could tell by her voice lol
“… no no no but wait, there’s more…”. 😂😂😂. Some funny shit!
You touched Kuzco, BUH-BYE!
Sad thing is I remember seeing this one when it aired. Now I feel old. Early 90’s is when I started watching Saturday night live.
AHHH,, POOR Guy::: Just Imagine how Sad you would feel if you started watching SNL when it First started in 1975 (like I did)===THEN you could feel Really Old (like I do Now)....
Same here.
No one cares, buh-bye
WHY? WHY DOESN’T ANYONE CARE??? HOW WILL I GO ON?! Oh yes BUH BYE! 😄
Guess what? You are old! Buh bye!
Look at all the SNL legends in this skit!
Always loved this one - still think of it every time I exit a plane : )
Any flight you take now days!! Lol
This has to be the funniest sketch on snl ever... XD
Epic sketch with one of the most funniest people!!
Is this sketch credited with the buh bye phrase? Only i saw it used by flight attendants in High Anxiety in the 70s.
David Spade later used the "Buh-bye" catchphrase in The Emperor's New Groove
0:55 yoooo mike myers!
