I figured out a way to actually end up with two socks! I knit both together, not two socks on one needle, I tried that, and it was too tangled. So this is what I do - when I'm winding the yarn into balls I weigh it as I'm winding, so that I end up with two balls of equal weight. Then I cast on toe up, and knit just the toe box. When that's done I cast on my second sock onto another set of needles and knit the toe box. I go back and forth between the two socks knitting one or two inches at a time so that they're finished at the same time. I use the same process for sweater sleeves and have found they turn out better than one at a time. I enjoy your videos. Thank you!
The music at the beginning had me dancing! Your Sheer V and Zosia Wrap are so beautiful and flattering. I also like cardigans and berets. Let's get Kaci to 10K subbies y'all!
Kaci, I soo look forward to all of your beautiful, up-lifting episodes! This type of wardrobe "inventory" is brilliant! Your pieces are ALL STUNNING. I definitely love how many shawls (and Andrea Mowry pieces) you have! Never too many shawls or cardigans, imo. So excited for your 10K!!
I loved this so much! Now I have so many more projects to add to my queue 😊 I especially want to make those sew liberated pants they look so comfy and cool and perfect to pair with a knit sweater!
Omgoodness Kaci, so many beautiful knits! 😍😍thank you so much for sharing them. I've added most of those patterns in my must knit list! Also loved seeing your sewing! 🥰💖
I truly loved this episode!!! As this being my first year as a full time knitter. My me made list is long and I am feeling overwhelmed! Would you consider making an episode of the top things a beginner should focus on knitting wise for a me made closet ??? It would be so helpful!!!! I am so inspired by you!! I don’t have the sewing machine yet so just focusing on the knitted side and I love your taste and how they are very wearable!! Help ❤ please and if not it’s ok I know you are busy!
Great selection. Thank you for an interesting tour of your wardrobe. I have an armoire full of garments, including some examples of my mother's excellent knitting. I even have the first pullover I knitted 50 years ago. So cute .. lace stitch, puffy sleeved cardigan with separate button band. I was an overachiever++ Teenage girls are so sweet!
I love how honest you are about the knits that just didn’t work out or didn’t turn out how you’d hoped. It lets me know I should extend myself grace when I don’t particularly like some thing that I have knit. 😅 All your knits are absolutely beautiful and inspiring ❤
I just started the Sophie Shawl. If you’re looking for a mindless knit , this fits the bill. It’s a bit of a plain jane but I think it’s going to be a very functional and well used knit.
What a beautiful collection of knits! I love sock and shawl knitting best, but am trying to boost up my sweaters. Thinking of vests now, too. And no sleeve island with those lol
I want to start seeing garments again but I’m telling myself that I need to knit a few sweater quantities of yarn first. Everything you do is gorgeous!
I'm so happy I found you! You are inspiring me to improve my me-made wardrobe! I have some of those same sewing patterns already. Just need to start sewing!!! Thank you!
10k subscribers! Huge congratulations! Very well deserved. I love your podcasts, you have such a creative style and approach and such a good eye they are a joy to settle in with my latest project to watch.
Hello, this is the first time I watch you on UA-cam. First of all; you are gorgeous. You emanate serenity, class and creativity. I have been creating for many years. I wish to be more sustainable in the new year and will focus more on a me-made wardrobe (which led me to your channel). I will definitely subscribe for more inspiration. My favorites; shawls and cross over/tie cardigans.
This was my first time watching your vlog, and I adored it! Thank you for creating such a nice collection of beautiful designs. I added a bunch to my queue. 💚
I have issues with yokes sweaters as well. I'm a small boned big gal with bosoms for days. I usually got for minimal to negative ease around the bust just so I'm not swimming across the shoulders. I love seamless sweaters but I always have to play with the pattern (read frog and re-frog) when I make them for myself.
Thank you for sharing your handmade wardrobe! It's so fun and you have such a lovely color Palette! I've been searching for the perfect dress to sew for underneath sweaters and I may have to try the hinterland! Loved watching this today with my coffee! Thank you
I really loved this video! I would like to see you model the garments. I didn’t see that you hated anything. That is probably good! But sometimes we can learn what we don’t look good in too. That is not as pleasant for sure. Thank you.😊❤
Great 👍 video! Loved seeing all you have made 😮 I just found you and binge watched all your videos. Enjoyed everyone of them. Got lots of ideas. Thanks so very much 🎉❤
A great episode thank you! The Ursa sweater is beautiful and one I'll be adding to my list to try ❤ I've made one knitted and one crocheted yoke sweater, with a second knitted one on my needles. As a full-busted woman, I really don't think they suit me hugely, so it was reassuring to hear you talk about the fit of yours. I want to try a drop shoulder sweater and a v neck design. I've not knitted a cardigan yet either, so that would make my list too 😊
Love your gorgeous handmade items! I just bought fabric for a Hinterland but am a bit nervous to start. Just found your show a couple weeks ago but am loving it.
Lovely to see you dear Kaci and all your knits are just beautiful am in different location in Thailand instead I’d Edinburgh big difference enjoying the hols
Wow! You are prolific knitter! I am just beginning a me made wardrobe. Only 2 finished pullover sweaters and currently working on a cardigan. I do have quite a few socks, a few shawls, mitts and hats…hmmm sounds like more when I’m writing it down 😮😊 I loved seeing all your me made clothing….so fun! Looking forward to your next video! Have a happy Thanksgiving 🍁🦃
So many beautiful items! I was thinking about what you said about the fit if some yoke sweaters. In a couple of my later yoke sweaters I did knit 1 size smaller on the top (I picked the size that was my more exakt measurement +- positive ease that is included in the pattern). That has turned out great for me.
loved seeing all the beautiful things you've made! I really love your color sense...something I struggle with myself...I always get color anxiety and then end up sticking with neutrals, lol. need to sit and assess what I'd actually wear and apply that better when making yarn choices. :)
This is my first year knitting, I started in I think about march & I only have about 4 sweaters & two shawls, (I’m working hard on the winter tales shawl so I can snuggle in it) I don’t even have a beanie yet so I’m over here working my fingers away trying to get some more cozy stuff made. Your knits are beautiful. ❤
If you ever want something just big & snuggly & cozy that’s super simple to knit I really do recommend the winter tales shawl by ozetta it’s been saving me when I want some simplicity in my life!
I find your videos so inspiring! Your work is so beautiful. What is one piece of advice you would give to a new knitter? Also, what type of project would you suggest someone just learning to knit to begin with?
Loved this a lot. I also loved the planning. As always your music and video as are so well done. Happy knitting. Was the vertices unite hard to knit? I love it but am in the fence about the pattern. 😊
Hi there. I just found your channel and I’m loving it and I’ve subscribed. Going to be enjoying watching all the videos I’ve missed. I do have a question. In this video, the last shawl you made with the foxy lady yarn (bandana something) I looked it up and it says it’s fingering weight. Is that sock yarn? I have two skeins of beautiful sock yarn I’d like to make what you made. I’m hoping it’s enough and that it’ll look like yours. What needle size did you use? I just love yours. 😊
Girl! I have 2 over the door shoe holder with my shawls. Each pocket has at least 2. I recently found a box with 4 finished shawls that need to be blocked 😳
Awesome video!!! I am knitting the dropp pullover by @ailbiona andbits such an easy but very cool construction for a drop shoulder! Please share ideas for any drop shoulder sweaters you find! 🙏 Congratulations on almost 10,000!!
Whew! I am heartened to hear other knitters admit they don't always like how a project turns out.
Unfortunately it happens!
I agree! I've made a habit of reclaiming yarn from projects if I don't love them. 🙂
Hello from Mounds Illinois. You are lucky our weather is very cold, we had snow last week and the temperature today is only 30 degrees.
