    I am Thai. I recalled when I first came to US, I smiled a lot, and people looked at me like I was crazy 🤣. One of my coworkers always gave me a weird look all those years I worked with her. I finally learned that I would only smile to people I like in US 😌. However, I recently retired and am going back to the land of smile 😊.

    35 years as a flight attendant with Delta air lines here, my passengers often give me "Wai" when I hand them their drinks / food. I often ask how they knew, they always said "because of your smile"

    Entry to Thailand for actual tourists is easy. People who are vacationing for 2-4 weeks can arrive visa exempt for 30 days (possibly 60 days in the next month or two). Visas for long stay expats (1 year+) such as retirees (over 50 years old) or people who have a job and a work permit are more complicated but that is true in any country. You do have to meet the visa requirements.
    The people who have visa complaints are typically people trying to stay long term using tourist visas and extensions. Tourists, by definition, are not people wanting to live here long term. They have jobs and homes to go back to. For people under 50 years there are few long stay options. Unfortunate but true.

      Good video again, Tony. very informative. I just learned as of June 1st, 2024, people can stay 60 days now. Curious about your street dog situation in your area? I like to walk but always carry a stick just in case . I am more of a rural area, so it comes as no surprise with the dogs. lol !! 😅

    Sally Lee..: Re your question below. I'm 65. If I can toss in a comment. Thais have universal Healthcare. For Thais..Not applicable to us.
    We the guests are responsible for our own Healthcare and it can be purchased through several companies over here. It is $$ and goes higher if you want preventative walk in visits. Most end up purchasing in patient care only.
    They do not have to accept pre exsisting conditions like in the US
    Age 65 up most require a physical at sign up.
    Earlier sign up recommended..
    We have a top named company that we went with. But I still roll my eyes when I see total coverage and what a real world heart attack or stroke costs.
    Hope that helps!!

    Apple products are way over priced as Thai wages are very low. It would cost more to sell them in the US than Thailand. Thai salespeople would earn 300-400 baht a day as well as warehouse, import staff and transportation.

    What's the infrastructure like with regards to the roads, sidewalks, electric grid, and internet?

    • @martypoll
      @martypoll 26 днів тому +2

      Sidewalks can be abysmal. Don’t expect them to be handicap friendly. Roads are fine. I drive here and as far as my experience they are as good as in the US. Electricity is good. I think I had more and longer power outages in California than I’ve experienced in Bangkok or in the countryside. Internet? No different than the US. If you have extraordinary internet requirements then shop carefully.
