The Spearmen should have Fallen Back in Good Order, and could have used Shieldwall on top to only Give Ground. Both rules I missed as there are literally several hundred pages of rules going through my head across multiple game systems and for multiple people. I'm good, but not that good, mistakes happen 😅

The crown of 'guy who remembers all the rules' is a heavy one to bear 😂 (it's me amongst my friends too)
Chef deserves a holiday here in Thailand - absorb the full scope of the rules whilst on a paradise island beach. Big brains need space and time to process 😎
There is no such thing as a perfect game of Warhammer Fantasy (and now the Old World). Every single game a rule will be forgotten or sumsuch. This isn't simple 40k after all! Lol
You might have made a rules mistake here but I think thematically it makes sense. Like imagine if you were one of these spearmen and a giant Gorgon beast charged your ranks plus some crazed buffed minotaurs.. Perhaps psychologically it would have been too much to take in this particular instance 😄

The only exception to that would be if minotaurs and the Gorgon both cause fear and have a combined unit strength more than double of the remaining Spears

Absolutely! Their camera works and minis are top notch and the energy these guys bring is just so fun to watch

The island of blood elves are still some of the nicest miniatures GW has ever made. Looking great on the field, guys!

Somehow this is most entertaining battle I watch on this channel. I often have them in background and miss a lot, but this one I watched back to back from start to finish. I love esthetics of Old World.

Great video! It'd be really good to have a little text box pop up with a description of spells/abilities as you talk about them. Just for us who aren't familiar with the Old World mechanics and rule book!

god every single person who plays on this channel has such infectious enthusiasm and the fun you all have radiates. by far my favorite battle reports, so easy to watch for someone who sometimes struggles to make it all the way through. I can't wait for more old world, the only criticism i have is a little more detail in the army building/list segments, i wanna know the details of all the units and the reasoning, and maybe even a little story behind the army lists you've built, either in universe or irl stories.

I really enjoyed the enthusiasm in this video! A lot of these reports can be serious and not fun to watch, coupled with the shorter run length was great!
remember swiftstride is optional. So if you are fleeing or pursuing you roll 2d6 first, then decide if you want to use the extra dice from swift stride. The fact that it's optional is one of my favorite changes for tactical reasons.

There's something deeply satisfying, in both fantasy and 40k, to pour over the great tomes of (space) magic to choose the spells (and powers).

Not sure if anyone mentioned, but most of the beastmen infantry are warband which allows them to reroll failed charges.

@22:30 Under "Outclassed in the arts" the rule states: 'If a natural double 1 is rolled when attempting a Wizardly dispel, the Wizard is outclassed by their opponent's skill. Roll immediately on the Miscast table to see what fate befalls your Wizard (changing references from 'cast' to 'dispel' and from 'perfect invocation' to 'unbinding').' So the spell should have been unbound, but chef wouldent be able dispell for the rest of the turn.
Thanks, missed the reference of changing cast to dispel as was in a seperate section to the miscast table 🙂
@@tabletoptactics The Great Bray-Shaman is also T5 so all the S4 hits are wounding on 5+ not 4+. Also the Gor charging the Etheral unit could still swing with Hand Weapons because of ensorcelled Weapons being Magical Attacks (They just don't use the additional hand weapons)
The Great Bray Shaman wasn't being attacked (the unit was), and Gors don't have Ensorcelled Weapons 🙂
No, the dispel wouldn't work, as the chalice states "If the bearer of the Plague Chalice rolls any natural double when making a Casting roll (not including rolls of a natural double 1)". In general, natural 1s always fail, no matter what.

@21:25 If you contact an enemy with the overrun it counts as a new Charge so you get to wheel to maximize and all that.
@22:37 You replace "cast" for "dispel" when looking at the miscast results when dispelling. So in that case the spell would have been automatically Dispelled, but then no more Wizards could Dispel for the rest of the turn.
(I think they should release a "Dispelling Miscast Table" in the FAQ to clear this up)

I believe the 'C' is pronounced in the style of the gaelic/celtic vernacular, as a 'K'. Was always pronounced as 'Krace' when I played from 6th ed onwards in GW stores. Seems to be a lot of streamers pronouncing the 'ch' like chase. Like you said Chef, no 't'.
Would make sense given the celtic naming conventions GW uses for both High Elves and Craftworlds

Great to see Old World content. At 26:03 the spearmen rolled Fall Back in Good order rather than Flee, right? So they could have used the Shieldwall ability.

Excellent video. Some mistakes for next time:
1. 6+6 on outclassed in the art is a dispel, the miscast table replaces the words "cast" with "dispel"
2. Dragon princes have a 6+ ward save
Yes I missed the line where it says to swap them (thought it would be in the Miscast table area)

Box cars on miscast while dispelling makes the dispel go off, or so it says in the magic section. Cheers guys!
A point of note for the bolt throwers, unless chef was just insanely lucky every volley the repeater shot is D3+3 shots not a flat 6. With the way he rolled it probably didn't matter but it is worth noting. Outside of that loved that game and can't wait to see more of their old world content!
I was rolling their shots off camera, don't worry, a few times I got like 4 shots, and then nothing happened, but as we didn't film it all you don't see it for comparison 🙂 -Chef
I think he may have missed the long range or multiple shots penalty, as shooting across the table with multi-shot should hit on 5's.
