They look a little bit like mini Andalusians. In fact I wonder if they have some Spanish roots, given their cresty necks, and one horse in particular in this vid that has the "eye" (@ 3:13)
I L❤️VE,L❤️VE L❤️VE the wild & wooly look!!! The Faroese pony has feathered hooves & they just look like the big boys w/out a sense of scale!!! All the horses have beautifully coloured coats, i think.
I have a highland pony and I do western riding with him, I have to agree with everything the lady said. They are so intelligent, very close to people, a giant heart. Mine is not so easy though, maybe a little bit too intelligent sometimes, with a strong temper, you really have to be his friend so he can give the best of him, otherwise ... it can become a little complicated ^^ also really cold, not afraid of many things, but really willing to go forward especially in the winter time. Love him so much.
I just found your channel this evening and I'm loving it! Your personality just brings so much joy and you're a great interviewer, too! This is such a fun idea!
Love the Video! My Arab mare would not have passed the crane monster.😂 This Scottish Pony should have been my first horse!!! Great character, not so spooky. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 Hessen ❣️😃👍💚
Yay! Such a fine Adventure in the wilds of beautiful Scotland. This looks like one of the BEST places to go ever. I could live there. Looks like Paradise. Love these Highland Ponies. Trekking with the Highlands looks amazing. I think it's really great the 1st Breeder doesn't even think about breaking them in until after 5. They get to just be Wild and Free 🐎 these Gorgeous Highlands have a Great Spirit you can see it in all of them. The intelligence-absolutely. Walkin all about the Green fields while the ponies are grazing-Heaven. So Lovely! 🐎💖🙆🍀🌞 ~ Thank you so much for making these videos bc I never get to see anything like this.
When the shot panned out and the castle was in the background, it was absolutely stunning! I have dreamt of pony trekking in the Highlands since I was a child. I love the ponies, history, beauty of Scotland. Someday, maybe...I love their versatility and was very happy the first woman doesn't start hers until they have a chance to grow/be kids.
In the 1960s and 1970s we lived in England (I’m Canadian) and when we toured the UK, Scotland and Wales, we did pony trekking almost daily. It was my greatest joy. There’s nothing like the love of the English for ponies. We stayed a week at a camping/pony trekking place near Edinburgh Scotland and we stayed a week. I volunteered with the horses that whole week and it was the happiest time of my life. I wish I could remember the name of the place and I wonder if it’s still around today.
It made my day to see the highland cows, we have a fold of about 85 head and I just finished showing four this weekend, they’re a wonderful breed of cow! And the dehorned mahogany (dark red with white, has also been referred to as “frosted”) was drop dead gorgeous!
My horse definitely would walk right past that constructing thing (I don't know what they're called in english 😂 ) I'm very proud to say she's very brave and non-spooky for a showjumper! I love all the native British pony breeds! They have something so special about them. The Fell are my favorite, but the Highland pony is also really amazing!
The horse owner had one thing right--- When I crossed the border from England into Scotland, I felt a relief that I don't think I ever felt before... I know via dna that my paternal descendents are English and Irish, but I'm not sure all of which parts of the UK, other than England and Wales, my maternal side originated centuries ago. Regardless, I'm sure some in our lines are familiar with the Scottish horse breeds... They'd have to be a tough breed to survive the weather in the beautiful Highlands, that's obvious even in today's specimens... Thanks for showing us this breed, and the others, from Scotland!!
Such beautiful ponies! I grew up in the Highlands and learned to ride on Highland ponies. They certainly know their own minds, but are fun, versatile and sure footed, as well as gorgeous ponies. Loved this video.
I first pony trekked in Scotland for a week in 1964 when a student in the United Kingdom. That was at the Castle Hotel, near Gleneagles. I trekked again at Dalbrack near Montrose where I spent two weeks in total on the farm in 1971 and again in 1975. As a fairly competent rider, I was allowed on the second occasion to trek alone with my young son since the owners knew they could trust me, as well as their ponies to keep us all safe. a memorable occasion.
Are you going to Sweden? We have two native breeds. One working horse and a pony. Nordsvensk brukshäst (north swedish drafthorse) and Gotlandsruss (Gotlandpony). The ponies live on the island Gotland and live semi wild
I really like your videos and discovering breed I had never heard of enflée :) Just a small thing about the sound in your videos, when wearing headphones the sound is sometimes only on the right side or on the left. I don’t know if its intentional. If it is I don’t really mind, but if it isn’t maybe check the balance. I thought I would mention it ^^
My riding school has loads of highland pony’s and at a pony club course someone found out that our riding school own either 5% or .5% I can’t remember 😂
No most breeds’ communities just start their horses younger. Which can be done, but when their joints are more mature they will be healthy until they are much older on average. That’s for all horses, they really don’t differ that much
What is your favorite thing about the Highland Pony breed? 🐎

I love saddlery, the chance to look around that tack room was fab
Such beautiful soft eyes. Seeing this, I'm very proud to be Scottish ❤❤❤❤❤

They have beautiful faces/heads.
I like this breed :)
Das beste Pony was es gibt! Wir haben zwei Stuten und sie sind genauso so wie hier beschrieben!

Thanks! Hahaha, yes, I know quite a few horses that would think the crane monster was definitely out to get them as well 😁.

Love that they have preserved this breed. They are just perfect!
That's so cool, what a beautiful pony!

This looks like so much fun! What a versatile breed with so much tradition. Thank you for showing us! Those ponies do really have charm.
There's my dream horse, right there.

Aww, I am so glad to hear that! My dad grew up on a dairy farm in Minnesota, but this was my first-time meeting Highland Cows - I love them!!
W❤W! That’s Tremendously Awesome! Cheers!🥂❤️✨

They are truly a wonderful breed. My first was a Highland. She was very smart indeed with a lovely temperament & lots of personality.
💜Awww, what a great breed to learn on!

This is the look and versatility I admire. I read somewhere years ago, “Admire the tall, but saddle the small.”
I was not familiar with this breed and I am surprised by the physical diversity! They are amazing! Thanks for showcasing these wonderful ponies.

What a fun place to learn to ride! Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching!
Short chubby cuteness overload 😍. Seriously though, I didn't know they were so versatile!
What a gorgeous pony!! Thanks for taking us along Alyssa. Can't wait to go to Scotland and go trail riding 😊😊
Love the ponies!
What a wonderful video this is! Quite the ride those Highland coo’s 😆

I was lucky to ride Jock last year. He was such a good boy x
That is so cool! Yes- he is such a sweetheart and a blast to ride!
Beautiful breed❤
Brilliant
They are beautiful
Love the Highland cows
My favorite thing about the Highland Pony is that they remind me a little of Lippitt Morgans.
😁

I will be! Looking forward to meeting them!!
Look very much like an Icelandic horse!
I hope to ride a highland pony !
I really like your videos and discovering breed I had never heard of enflée :)

They're great ponies!bI have one
You should totally ride an Australian stock horse many where designed for stock work but many including one that I own does high level dressage.
They are one of the upcoming breeds I'll be filming! Cannot wait to meet them!
Omg hey fiona!!!!!
Awesome🔝🔝🔝🔝
Thank you!

The pony @5:09 could easily be mistaken for a Norwegian Fjord.
Of course that the highland ponys are scottish. A beautiful landscape with that castle ruin. They have fat legs and are muscled.🥰
Where do you get shire horses from I what a ride too
👍❤
You need come to czech republic and ride Norik or "kladrubský kůň" copy paste :) But those are my favorit breed
I cannot wait to meet them! Such a beautiful breed!
I would love to have one of these ponies one day, but sadly we don't, have them here in Germany☹️
I read the title as "Pony Twerking" needless to say I was slightly disappointed but this video was really good so it's a win-win.
Nice! Do they mature later than other breeds?
No most breeds’ communities just start their horses younger. Which can be done, but when their joints are more mature they will be healthy until they are much older on average. That’s for all horses, they really don’t differ that much
Have you done the Finnish Horse? They count as working horses, but are very versatile.
Not yet, but they are on my list - I cannot wait to meet them!

I don't like horseback riding as much I don't want to be on a horse I'm sick of it
