Hi, nice video. It's a nice measure, but you have to remember that Measure-Command report time for all nslookup command, including showing the results on screen. It takes time too. And it could be different for different executions.
You are correct but I don't think that the overall "offset" will be big enough to change the results.
It's not all about speed its about dns with security measures and speed.
Thanks man you helped me increase my speeds

How do I find out a specific DNS that is the fastest for gaming like path of exile and never mind all other browsing stuffs--just for this game alone.
you uninstall the game, and then, that's it! you are now working much faster!
No but seriously changing the DNS server won't improve anything for a game unless this game is blocked or something on your current ISP.
When we access WI-FI through say device A. We get an option to choose whether other devices can recognize device A. Is it safe to do so on cable internet provided by ISP?
that discovery is just used for local networks especially for PC's and media devices... for example if you Plex installed on your PC and it's discoverable, another DLNA supporting device like for example a video streamer can see the files of plex on it while they are on the same network. it's a pretty nice feature for home usage but obviously you should secure your network (hard wifi password and so on.)
Thanks a lot.
i dont have a pc so how can i know what's the best for me?
browser query dns server only if you visiting site first time, than ip goes to cache and next time you will use cached record
Hi. Can you help on cell phone. I do 1.1.1.1. When I do speedtest both will not go over 15mps. Att has put a limit on 15 per my pay plan. I thought this would bypass this. Can I bypass my isp.? Do I have to change any settings on my phone? Is it better to use 1.1.1.1 when on just mobile data?
T-Mobile San Diego CA USA
Att uverse San Diego wifi.
Sorry not tech savvy
I have a question Can 1.0.0.1 can also be used as a primary dns and 1.1.1.1 as a secondary?
I don't see any reason not to
Im using Quad on my 4G/LTE bec 6300nel Ridgewave R15 modem it seems to help
so if I change the DNS on my modem, anything wired to the modem will use that DNS, and anything else I have that's connected wireless will use the default DNS?
it really depends on what your modem/router allows.
in some cases if you change the DNS, both wired and wireless devices will get the new DNS but in some cases not.
DimusTech how do I change the dns on my router
If I have shield hooked up with Ethernet do I need this?
It should be the same as for any other device
I just used Google's DNS and i see a significant boost in loading websites. Plus i can access some banned sites from my ISP. Noice!
unske and they are 😲😂
unske Banned sites😏 huh
If i only wanted to change a DNS server on one device should i still change the DNS server on the router or only just on my device?
Changing the DNS on the router will change it for any device that will acquire the DNS from the router.....
in that case you want to change only on that device.
Thanks!

Hello im from Albania what DNS should i use? please answer
As I said, it's different for each person for each ISP and place.. you can try my method and choose a few DNS servers and test which one is faster for you, or as few people suggest get a DNS testing app which will do it automatically
What about your secondary DNS, also should you leave the Gateway as is?
I just choose the secondary as something that is fast enough too
Regarding the gateway it'd determined by your ISP, changing it to something wrong and you won't have access anywhere
What are the differences between them
1.1.1.1 is blocked by my isp idk why
My previous ISP also "blocked" it, but actually it wasn't a block by them rather than probably some sort of older Cisco switch model in their network that internally used 1.1.1.1 for something. check if 1.0.0.1 works for you, if yes than it's the same, if not, probably time to check other ISP's :-)
Thanks~~
Thanks 🙏
Great info...Thanx!
mine says non-authoritative answer , why ?
well there are a couple of options here, the address you might be asking for, doesn't exist, and the other is that for some reason your computer cannot reach the particular DNS server that you requested the answer from, since this happened to me while I was on another ISP I found that some ISP's still might use some Cisco equipment that reserves 1.1.1.1 for themselves and that was probably the case for me, so try 1.0.0.1 instead.
Because it is. Authoritative answers come from DNS servers that are designated for the domain. An authoritative DNS server is usually responsible for a few couple of domains. Your configured DNS servers usually use authoritative DNS servers to get the data for you (or they may ask their own upstream servers like your computer).

1.1.1.1 is the best for me not choosing sides
My internet is really fast when I 'm the only one who uses it. But when others use it with me, it drops significantly. Especially the PING.
It probably means someone is taking the whole bandwidth. maybe some QoS options on your router can assist if you have those
Best tutorial ive evr seen bro ur d best!!!!!
Brother i want to host my website from my local pc, need some help, should i need to create dns server, for connecting to domain ??? Or not, will you please tell me steps ...of main points.
First of all I wouldn't recommend this at all!
It's not so secure, it's not fast and will slow down your PC.
You will need for that to host your website which means some server application that can run your website.
Than you'll need to buy a domain and point it to your external IP which should be a static one.
You will also need to forward traffic from your router to your pc that hosts the site
Thank you Soo much 💗

I got yday another motorola modem router combo (after sending one back cause apparently faulty), used isp dns all day and everything has been fine, today i tried using the google dns, which i used with any single router i had, and my motorola started doing the same thing as the old one, basically 30 mins aftwr turning it on, it loses the internet signal and i have to restart it, 30 mins later same story over and over... now i have put back the provider dns about 50 mins ago and it is still working, so i guess it's the google dns making my modem router going shit 🤷🏻♂️ anybody as an idea why this happens? It's not my provider the problem cause i used the google dns on the old router 🤔
Wow! I really wonder what it is... Maybe something specific that the modem needs to communicate with but it's not correct via Google's DNS for some reason? I would search on Google for issues with that particular modedm
I tried serching but i found nothing at all.. maybe you'll find something, it's a motorola MG7315 modem router combo
@@GioventuBruciata9297 Ran also a quick search but didn't see anything specific.
When the issue happens, is it on'y DNS issues or network itself? I mean during the issue can you ping something external like for example 1.1.1.1 ?

whats the best for Asia region for gaming? (PS4)
I don't think a DNS change will give you almost any performance change with games, but if you have issues with something that is blocked on your ISP, changing the DNS to a global one might do good for you. As I said in this video, it might be different DNS server that is the fastest for you and a totally different one for your neighbor who might be on another ISP or even same ISP but routed on a different way (on ISP side)
@@HypeSkills Nice to hear, I know that in China many services are blocked by the government so maybe some different DNS servers can help you.
DimusTech actually only dns servers can’t help you also have to use a manual IP address from a country like US and it somehow works

The one in the pinned comment
Make your own?
totally not, unless you are sure you can hold all DNS records in the world that you will use on a fast server, otherwise, things get changed and you visit some new sites, a home server is just another point in that request which will slow you down, it will increase the DNS response only for the things you constantly visit if they don't change but otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.
Can i test my ISP default to see the difference?
sure, it should work the same way for any DNS, and I did see a few comments saying that their ISP was better than the rest (I'd wish mine was like that lol)
@@DimusTech Yeah i did it and got .01 I guess i should use my default when i'm not doing anything important.

In general it's better to install a tool like "dig" is you want to try your DNS servers. In my case the results where:
Google:
;; Query time: 92 msec
;; SERVER: 8.8.8.8#53(8.8.8.8)
Cloudflare:
;; Query time: 82 msec
;; SERVER: 1.1.1.1#53(1.1.1.1)
Quad9:
;; Query time: 33 msec
;; SERVER: 9.9.9.9#53(9.9.9.9)
Local ISP:
;; Query time: 16 msec
;; SERVER: 200.59.21.5#53(200.59.21.5)

Hi
How can I find a free dns and fast work in Iraq
And thank you for this video
Start by watching this video, I pretty much explain that here.
Run your own locally hosted Unbound resolving DNS server. Done. :-P Crazy fast. No data mining.
I don't see any reason for any home user to do such thing especially that most of the new requests will probably just be slower since now they will have another step in the way
I did that, its no faster than Cloudflare and Cloudflare is often faster.
Granted it depends a lot on your usage. As long as the TTL is still valid, it won't get any faster than locally hosted. If your own resolving name server has to go fetch a lookup, it'll usually be slower than a DNS service (unless you're unlucky enough to be the one asking Cloudfare for a first/expired lookup.) What I like about self-hosting is DNSSEC, but that isn't the topic of this video.
I love your accent
Lol, thanks!
For me in Romania is 8.8.8.8 p and 8.8.4.4 s
