Enjoying your videos, great to see somebody filming their restoration journey. Looking forward to seeing more of your work. Kudos to those that offer solid advice, and ignore the social media trolls that criticise without substance.

Before you put the body filler in I would run over the repair with a 80 grit disc on a orbital sander paint edge as well fill then light coat of Matt black so when you sand with 80 grit on block it will show the low spots by staying black.block till it fills right then skim with a fine filler for any pin holes in filler. Then block 180 git then again 320 grit then prime hope this helps ben

Hi... Rite here's the script... Why are you listining to people about the welding...... The visual is not important won't ever be seen. And your penatration first class. Remember wheel arches don't carry any weight good tack every 1/2 in be fine. Then a tight skim of fibre fill chopped fibre glass. (waterproof) include over lead. Then skim good body filler to primer. To fit the wheel arch as you have done is brilliant. Difficult arch to fit. Forget every dxxk head. My advice is law 41 years bodyshop owner. Now retired. Well done son your king a first class job.

Grind the lead out an inch (2.5cm) up the panel, weld up and re-fill with normal filler.

That's great thanks, I was going to remove the lead anyway didn't know if filler would do the trick. Thanks for that.

Take look fitzee's fabrication videos; a 30 year pro fabricator and bodywork specialist from Nova Scotia. He brilliantly butt welds and fabricates but he still has gaps between the spot welds. He just grinds it back, maybe knocks down the gap or low spot as required re welds and repeats until it’s perfect. So there’s nowt wrong with your welds mate. Best regards, mkdave.
