Xing Yi - Yiquan. Spring power (Fa Li) explosion is shows clearly the two system common parts. This was one of the hidden teaching of Xing Yi. 5 elements fist and 12 animals were the open teaching. I like Xing Yi's straight spirit. Yiquan based on it and develop this fa li power by tree standing meditation which origin is from the mother system. Very good video.
I think it was Sun Lu T'ang who suggested that the schools of T'ai Chi, Pa Kua and Hsing-I were different iterations of the same exercise. All three have the same principles, it's just that T'ai Chi emphasises yielding, Hsing-I goes with the explosive aspects of Fa Jing and Pa Kua combines the different aspects, together with deceptive movement. They all have the opening/closing, yielding/striking and different angles of attack. You pays your money and you takes your choice and you do what you have to do at every instant until you have achieved your goal.
well, this brought back a memory. some years ago, i was practicing with my teacher and in a similar position, suddenly I found my self literally flying backwards a good 8-9 feet. I felt nothing, except for being just lifted up like a helium ballon lol ps , he was considerably smaller then me. awesome.
Here's look at what Xing Yi students are working on after 6 months of training. Tomorrow is the last day to join the Clear's Xing Yi program until summer 2015. www.clearsilat.com/xing-yi

Bravo SiGung Clear. I love Xing Yi. I have been practiced Xing Yi Chianti’s as taught by Dr. Her Yue Wong since 1981. Well presented here!
Best demonstration of the mechanics I've seen so far. Xing Yi is fascinating.

Wow, that's really amazing. These contractions and explosions of force create large reactions in ones opponent. Thank you!
Excellent example illustration 👏👏
