Wow. Never had much interest in Glocks before, never interested in 10mm before, never interested in pistol-carbine conversions before. (And certainly not with an expensive optic, I thought.) Actually never even HEARD of this set-up before, but now this thing just jumped to third place on my most-wanted firearms wish-list! What an awesome little rig that is!
The best part is that glock mags, especially 9mm are so cheap and plentiful and they have everything even drums u can run in this that will make it a serious weapon. The mags all fit every gun in that caliber like glock 17 mags fit the 34 the 19 and the 26. Its the most versatile pistol around. U can get a conversation to make it 22lr too
i had a mech tech 10mm , i had to send it back because it kept ripping my casings in half.. i sent it in twice and they did not fix it, finally i sent it back the third time and asked for my money back.. they honored their money back guarantee... loved that little gun.... wish it worked like the one in this video... i would still have it today.....
I fell asleep with a hickok45 playlist going and woke up with ptsd.
xSiLviCoOk This comment made me lol... probably cause I've fell asleep too watching hickok but without the ptsd. It was more like the ole lady waking me up saying, wtf are you watching? Lol
lol

😂
I have the Mech Tech and the Glock 40 10mm and get the same results. Lots of fun and no issues. The water melon was a surprise, I didn't expect it to come apart like that. So many other rounds go right through it. Great video!
LONG LIVE THE 10mm AUTO!!!!!!!!!!
The Head Hitter!
Amen! When everyone thought 10mm was long gone, it came back with a pounding.
40 s&w is perfectly fine!
@@scottyj6226 No, it's not. 40 short and weak is a vile disgrace and a betrayal of American values.
@@scottyj6226 40 S&W is alright, but it ain't no bear killer like a 10mm!
There is so much potential for these carbines for hand loaders. Using a more slowly burning powder above the maximum loads for the pistols themselves provides a very high velocity gain. I'm driving 124 grain 9mm loads through my sub2000 to 1500 and 1600 fps just using unique with plenty of case volume left over. If I could get a 10mm carbine I'd be launching those slugs to the moon.
wow thoes loads sound very impressive, i don't know too much about reloading but i can imagine what you could do with 10mm. think it could push 1800 or 2000 FPS?
+Xtorin “Xt” O'hern With the right bullet/powder combo, that is quite possible. Have to be a light-for-caliber bullet most likely.
You can easily reach that in 9mm with some 50-85 gr bullets in a handgun. You just have to go really light in your bullet selection
Tyler Rowe huh, thats interesting to know, think you could do 2000 fps with a 95/100 grain bullet in 10mm?
+Howard Snyder That's exactly what I was thinking reading through this. After I saw that, that's been my preferred round for my 10mm MechTech. Although Underwood just recently announced their new Extreme Defender round rated at 115 grains and 1,700 fps out of a standard 5" barrel. Now I'd be _very_ interested in seeing how that round performs out of MechTech's 16" upper!
Now at 80 YO and with some palsy in my right hand and my dominate eye with retina problems, I love MY Mech Tech with a cheap red dot and even a green laser. I am able to easily put 5 rounds in a 3" circle at 50 yards some of my Underwood I am shooting a 155 grain hollow point at 1659FPS average with some real stopping power-like 800 foot pounds at the mussel.
"I really need to practice left handed"
*constant metal ringing for the next 30 seconds*
Looks fine to me :)
+Dave Thompson the man can shoot.
Sure can :)
+Dave Thompson And here I am, my left hand dominant, can't shoot even if my life depended on it.
or me, left handed, right eye very dominant...i'm just a mess.
shoot pistols with my left hand bringing them across to my right eye and learned to shoot rifles with my right hand.
I'm the opposite - RH/LED - and it's a pain. When I'm tired I can't shoot very well, when I'm fresh I'm fine.....then again I live in the UK so opportunities are few.
I get my shooting fix vicariously through fine channels like this :)
The folks at MechTech have really got it right with these things. I've put one on an XD45 and it has been a bunch of fun. Only one hiccup in +500 rounds. Had a FTE when the bolt closed on the brass before it cleared the ejection port. One of your other viewers made a comment on the 9mm video and it would be even more appropriate for the 45acp; an available option for a threaded barrel would be a perfect for these! Great job as always guys. Thanks and keep'm coming.
That 10mm underwood ammo had some power behind it, You could clearly hear how much noisier it was xD
I loved the green 9mm one, and I absolutely adore this 10mm one. I definitely want one of these
I'm a professional watermelon hunter. I was in FoodStuffs Hunting outdoorsman ultimate big gorge hunters magazine. Watermelons are pretty tough to kill. They roll down hills, and they use their seeds as defense mechanisms to blow anybody who tries to eat them up. Typically, they play dead, so when shot, they explode and shower the victim to make them regret murdering them. It's SCIENCE Hickok!
I think this is where the 10mm belongs. It was difficult to shoot because of the uncomfortable recoil. The added weight will calm it some, and help keep the muzzle down. The longer barrel should be more accurate, and will maximize velocity. No fireball, like in front of the Delta Elite. I think it would make a formidable home defense weapon, with some JHP's. It might work on coyotes and hogs, too. It's got more reach and wallop than a 9mm PCC. Plus, it's fun to shoot, just like an M1 Carbine, but nowadays, 10mm ammo is easier to find than .30 Carbine. I know, I've been looking to feed my Inland.😉
So cool seeing the lead on that last hog you took out on the second shot fully focused! I could watch that shot for days! Very sweet carbine! Love the 10mm and have taken 3 whitetails 3 years in a row with my Glock 40 10mm
Hickok's Pumpkin Carving time is getting near! I can't wait. I love those hilarious videos every year.
I have a Feather AT 9, I bought it back when nobody wanted them...I love it......My .40 cal MechTech is on order now...can't wait...!
Wow, at 12:55 you can actually see the bullets in flight... That's pretty cool!
K Wild also at 2:11
Shooting pretty flat out that far, too.
K Wild Oh great I thought it was just me.
This guy is a surgeon with firearms. And targets down range are tumors. Very accurate. Hell of a shot.
This would probably be the only reason i would own a glock honestly. Looks fun!
love how when you shoot the gong you can see the bullet traveling with that good camera!
Them federal round sound quick...wow we. Love this unit.! Thanks Mr Hickok Sir, grovel. You're target acquisition is scary, great videos. Thanks.
Looks like a fun little 10mm accessory! I'm toying with the idea of a 10mm AR build but right now the Mech Tech is looking like a far more affordable option. Hmm.......
Being the 10mm fanboy that I am it's good to see your rocking the Underwood Ammo. They are the only company offering 10mm worth the brass it's loaded in that is actually affordable. And at half the price of anything offered from DT or anyone else who wishes they had a load that could compete with or was at least comparable to it, Underwood really has no competition in the factory 10mm market. Theirs is the real deal!
....2nd only to the very best of my own hand loads. ...of course :P
Love the show, been enjoying it for years now. I was worried you may start having too much fun with other interests and fall off after retiring but here you are, still doing your thing and I'm still loving it! Life is good indeed! Cheers!
I'd love to see a gun like this chambered for the .50 action express cartridge. Now that would be fun! :-)
+okey dokey It can be in .460 Rowland, which is similar.
I have decided to get a Glock 20 specifically to use with the Mech Tech receiver. I was a little worried about performance issues but after watching this I'm more sold on it.
How’s it working out?
Got my G20, now I want this.
That was some serious carnage you caused with that baby! The compound looks like an army came through it.
I haven't even watched the video yet, but I had to say thank you for this one. I've been eyeing this product for some time, specifically in 10mm.
Nice rigg. I agree - 10mm is the right round for it.
These carbine conversions are always cool to see, thanks Hickok!
Another stellar review. Been my go to source for years. Have to admit you got me again. Just ordered one for my Glock .22. Looking forward to squeezing out a few
I love your 10mm videos. Totally my favorite round. I always wondered why they're aren't any 10mm PDWs out there.
I'm always surprised about hickok45's shooting skills! Top! 👍
I love it it's like the modern grease gun.
Makes me want to purchase a Glock 10mm
Yeh I gots to know
Frank Gonzalez r they are great guns
I built a 10mm AR and a I still want one of these! Gee thank hickok45!!
You must have read my mind. This is very prominently on my radar. Thank you for this video!!!
I'm going to need one of those threaded for a can!
+HachiZenki they don't.
+Mrgunsngear Channel If you do get that working, perhaps you could upload a video? The Mechtech company doesn't offer that service on their website.
I never thought about that. That would be a pretty awesome setup. But I've never seen one of those surpressed. I have my G20 for my concealed carry " I know that's lot of gun" but I may have to buy another G20 for this setup and get a can for it. I subscribe to your channel, if you have any ideas let me know brother.👍
+HachiZenki they do make full auto 10mm glocks, even if you don't see it on youtube
This needs to be integrally suppressed. Feature added too.
love the 10mm
Hi i live in New Zealand and you were featured on TV here. The program is called 'Sunday',and it was about a cop shooting a civilian. They were talking about the cops gun,a bushmaster. They rolled in footage of you shooting a AR. I recognized you immediately. Have a look at the program.
They weren't trying to demonize him were they?
Scroobmeister That is very cool!
I've got a Mech Tech chambered in10 mm, & I just love the heck out of it! it is a bit on the heavy side, weighing in at 9.25 pounds on my scale with the accessories on it. I slapped a cheapo red dot scope on it, but it also has a green laser which is a lot more fun to shoot on cloudier days. I've watched a UA-cam video with a chronograph, and someday soon I'm going to be cornying mine as well. I do my own hand loading, and bullet casting. So I'm kind of anxious to see what my cast bullets will run up to. Excellent video hickok45! As usual.
I've been watching for years and you really seemed to be on your game today. Makes me want to go buy one of those.
Would be neat to see you do more carbine videos. Ive been considering a 10mm carbine but options are limited compared to other calibers ie 9mm. Thanks for all the great videos @Hickok45
Really I'ma big-time gfb look the pistol I can't rem chambered in 223 is a rifle round and cheaper for me a rifle round that's cheaper is just cooler that's just me
Looks like it would be about perfect for discouraging burglars. I like the spartan simplicity of the gun. Not a bunch of junk sticking out to catch on things.
well.. looks a lot like a old paintball gun to me.
Birdman Wood Designs brand new wtf
Yes to that
This is the only incarnation of a Glock I would ever own. What a sick firearm.
I love how you can see the bullets hitting the gong!
Im so happy 10mm is having a bit of a resurgence. Probably the best semi-auto cartridge, or at least the most powerful. Its just awesome and never got the respect it deserved, especially getting neutered by morphing into the 40sw...
I think pistol caliber carbines are cool and fun in theory, but ive never actually bought one, for a couple reasons... This might be the one. A 10mm auto carbine? Awesome!
+sergeantbigmac It's not the only one you can get in 10mm, but it's the only one where you can buy a fully-collapsible stock for, and which loads from the "pistol grip" (actually the pistol lower), so it's more compact than the other models.
If the word got out about 10mm in a PCC format, it might become more popular, because the recoil of 10mm when used in a PCC is much less than when you use it in a handgun.
Mazryonh Ive heard there are others but never found any. Doesnt Ruger make one? Maybe its in 44 mag, I cant remember. I think that would make for an awesome little rifle...
Anyway, the benefit here is obviously the fact that you have a pistol AND carbine and it takes glock mags. All in the excellent 10mm.
+sergeantbigmac I can't find hide nor hair of them, aside from one offered by Thureon Defense. And yes, a PCC that shares mags and ammunition with your handgun is more convenient, assuming the caliber you're using actually benefits (.45 ACP usually doesn't from 16-inch barrels).
@@Mazryonh this ccu in 45 auto is nothing to screw with.....100 yd accuracy is phenomenal, as is the 10mm in this platform. These are well made and a solid addition to your glocks. (I dont do 1911s or xds) 26 round (45) and 30 round (10) extended mags plus the standard 13 round(45 auto) and 15 round (10mm) really make this an unbeatable combo.
@@stevenp8198 I was under the impression that pistol caliber carbines in .45 ACP were counterproductive at longer barrel lengths, because at 16-inches of barrel, you start getting more friction from the barrel rather than more velocity from the fairly anemic powder charge of most commercially-available .45 ACP ammunition. Fully-loaded 10mm Auto ammunition doesn't have that problem.
12:40 you can see the bullets traveling to the Gong. Amazing.
It sure makes that 10 mm around come alive thanks for showing it
That first mag he hit 15/15, first time I've seen him do that. This gun is sweet and dead on.
My husband and I enjoy your Chanel very much! My husband is really big on .357 magnum but is strongly considering buying a glock 20 as a trail/hiking gun. I bet he will like the idea of a block 20 even more when I show him this carbine upper.
That little Mech Tech carbine sure hits hard. 10mm is a great cartridge. Their 1911 version looks interesting too. I wish they would make an upper to fit the baby Glock receivers.
Really enjoy these pistol caliber carbine videos that 10mm is a bad boy.I have marlin camp 9 and love it .
I had 2 of tese in 45acp back in the 1990's .Couldn't get it to run . Mechtech sent me a replacement twice . Finally gave up and sold the one I had . I learned my lesson cost me alot of time and money to learn my lesson .
+krazy45cat Going to give you the benefit of the doubt and allow that maybe their quality has gone way up rather than the problem being behind the stock, but both of hickok45's videos with them show that they run very well.
+ekenslow Mine were an early model and I couldn't get a full mag to run thru the upper . Its a shame because I really wanted it to work . In all my years the best I've had were the Keltec sb2000 gen 1 and gen 2 in 9mm . And I still own the gen 2 .
hickok45 ...This is going to be my "In the Tent Bear-Gun" Thanks for posting this video !!
Going out to dinner with the in-laws, so I'll have to watch the rest of the video later. I really like this 10mm carbine. If I had the money I'd pick one up tomorrow!
Loving the video and audio quality! That 10mm carbine looks like a fun little shooter. :D
That ten-mm sounds like it really smacks the gong with AUTHORITY ! That setup should be pretty effective out to around 200 yards or so, yes ? Great review, as usual ! :-)
Oh my gosh!! Incredible video quality!!!
Dude is such a goat, can't even tell this is a 8 yr old vid
My vote for one of the loudest guns in Hickok history. Wow!
IMHO A gun like that 10mm NEEDS 30 Magazines (Fun Sticks) !
Yes! Why does glock only make fun sticks for 9mm and .45???
+OptimalArmament best bet throw the kriss vector extended base pad onto your glock 20 magazine. Personally never done it but its made for the 21 mag and the 20 mag is the same size so i don't see why it wouldn't work well. My kriss mag holds 26 of .45acp so probably get 29 or 30 rounds of 10mm in there.
+22BStan Yeah it's been down before, I think mrgunsandgear has a video about it
+22BStan I've done it and was able to (with some effort), squeeze in 32 rounds in mine. I typically load it to just 30 though as that's plenty. The process isn't quite as easy as some of the videos on UA-cam make it out to be though. There's _a lot,_ of dremel work that needs to be done and even then, it doesn't always feed very well. Seems the first half of the rounds, the spring pressure is noticeably light (suggesting that the spring is still getting caught on something - can't seem to figure out what), but after that, they feed just fine.
KRISS is now making magazine extension sleeves for several calibers. The new 10mm sleeve extends the Glock 20 mag from 15 to 33 rounds. But getting those last few rounds in by hand is really tough against the spring tension. You're better off using a magazine speed loader.
Looks sweet, love this design- copact, simple, elegant.
Stuff like this really makes me want to change my mind about getting my 10 mm in a fancier brand metal body handgun
oh man!!! video is so crispy. and @1080p60fps on my phone I can see the rounds flying down the range
I've been waiting for something like this for a while.. 10mm! Thank yoy MrHickok45! :) (opening a cold beer..)
Anyone else watch no matter the firearm just to see the mans skills on the range!!
I am definitely going to buy one of these things once I'm old enough. That thing looks fun.
That 10mm. carbine is awesome, thank you!!!
your videos are getting better every time
I'm not a fan of the Glock in form, but it's function is great. that's an awesome rig. thanks for sharing +hickock45
I've seen how Hickok's targets move when hit with 10mm from a handgun -- they're showing significantly more energy from that 16" barrel.
Great camera angles and close-ups, John!
I wish I was smart enough to invent a magnet to pick up brass! I would contact Hickok45 first during testing! When he walks, you can hear the brass move!
Wow is this a new camera? All the colours are so much richer and more vibrant.
Darth Vader is filming this.
the jungle animal sounds in the background? Does Hickok45 live in El Salvador?
It's great that you finally got to review this model. If more people were introduced to 10mm in a Pistol Caliber Carbine format, I'm sure the caliber would be more popular, because the recoil is much more manageable as a PCC.
Will you have time to do some long-range shots with this PCC? It would be revealing if you did some comparisons with this one and PCCs in other calibers.
I watched hickok before 60FPS and before 200k subs.
Very nice set up and review. Also the video quality is great!
The 10mm auto is really a great cartridge for pistol carbines. The biggest downside to the 10mm is it's recoil (which is not unmanageable, but it can get stiff), and the carbine format does a great job mitigating it. Follow up shots with a 10mm carbine are much easier, and you still get the punch and capacity of the 10mm. I think a 10mm carbine has great potential for everything from a self defense gun to a hiking and camping gun. It's great that Mechtech made the CCU for the Glock 20, and I hope more people also see this potential.
+DWSimmy In general, if PCCs became more popular, the 10mm Auto caliber might be more popular too, given that you mention how this round is much more controllable in a PCC.
I love Hickok, hes such a sandbagger.
h45....rainx anti fog on the inside of glasses works great. I use it when I off shore fish of the coast of florida.
@hickok45 another great video, and great marksmanship!
10mm with a longer barrel - an impressive little cannon!
Why isn't Hickok our NRA spokesman. He is the most lovable youtube personality
John Paul Hickok45 has my vote for our NRA spokesperson....
*Switches to left arm*
"I need to practice this way anyway"
Proceeds to shoot flawlessly.
10mm is a fantastic round for carbines and SMGs. Wish it wasn't so darned expensive.
Cool set up Gata love the 10mm
I liked how you knocked that tree around! Nice video. : )
Wow, that Underwood just whizzed right through that paper target.
The sad thing is I would have buy a Glock 20 and then buy that upper. Wait. That is not sad at all!
+jhpfmj Bud's Gun Shop do layaway, just sayin' :)
I wonder if this would work with a g21 converted to glock 20?
Do like I did and buy an 80% lower.
@@adame312 Well yes because the g21 and g 20 use the same frame. the conversion does not matter because you take off the entire slide assembly.
I think I just found my new 10mm carbine. I’d like to see more on the reliability of feeding any ammo through it. Looks badass.
it s time to make a tree trimming episode
+martin robillard (hunter) We've done a couple.
+hickok45 i know but we almost can t see the gong
+martin robillard (hunter) saiga or aa12, shooting them branches down
his benelli does the job don t worry ;)
Just shooting my Glock 20 today. Its a joy to shoot. But dang it, seeing this video is going to make me spend more money. I got to buy this setup.
The carbine looks interesting.I love the cartridge.
12:52 you can see the bullet flying and strike the gong. Nice camera and shooting!
Well, I know what my next purchase will be!
He shouted out Clarksville guns and archery. Awesome place!
What a handy, compact powerhouse!
I have a soft spot for carbines. Love this thing!
Does left handed better than most of us with our right. Holy crap .
