      I know, buying sub sonic 9mm rounds is stupid when 45 auto exists.

    • @ExtremeSquared
      @ExtremeSquared 3 місяці тому +1

      @@IsaacSchultz 45 suppressors have to be a lot bigger than most pistol-shooters want for them to match the sound levels of 9mm, though. That small aperture makes a difference. Would be nice if carbine-specific XL 45 suppressors existed.

    • @BillBroadley
      @BillBroadley 3 місяці тому +1

      @@ExtremeSquared Actually no. Trick is any reasonable 9mm is supersonic, commonly around 115 grains. A 230 grains 45 acp is subsonic, so it's quieter to begin with, and much easier to suppress. Much like subsonic 300 blackout, but half the cost per round.

    45 acp is the best PCC caliber by far. All off the shelf non boutique ammo is both subsonic AND full power. You can buy or load your own 45 to 10mm power if you want to and ball ammo is very lethal, no real need to buy “defense” ammo to gain perceived lethality.
    45 acp is lethal about 50 yards further than 9mm while still being subsonic.

    Rugar is making some really nice guns lately that don't get a lot of attention. The PCCs are some of the coolest and seeing it in .45 is just... awesome. With the foldable/collapsable stocks and now in .45 they make great wilderness or truck guns. Thanks for sharing this one.
    Oh, Magpul makes a nice M-LOK foregrip that would work well on this carbine. I mount it on my Saint and it's just lovely. Generally, I don't use one, but I do find the foregrip makes things more comfortable when doing longer standing/moving sessions at the range (yeah, yeah I'm old...).

      The angle fore grip is really nice on that little rail in front of the trigger guard.
      I took the back of it to my 12” disc sander and removed enough to get the cross clamp bolt into the first slot. And radiused the corners with a Dremel 1/2” drum. It’s perfect to palm for longer shots and really nice for rapid shooting/maneuvering. And general handling. I did do some strategic light stippling to increase gripage.

    The round that inspired modern "medium calibers", in the modern carbine format the tommy inspired. Now that's how you pay homage to your elders. Only "official" accessory I can think of wanting is a sliding wire stock to maximize compact-ability without giving up the accuracy 45 gains from all that lovely barrel. But a nice, lengthy wire slide mechanism would unavoidably either block something or screw with the weapon's profile just due to how compact it is.
