Adam Savage's Custom Cosplay Storage Case!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 жов 2024
- When Adam gets a new costume, he imagines how that character would store and travel with it in-universe. For his new Captain America suit, that question found its answer in a modified aluminum travel case that Adam found and customized. And he couldn't be more thrilled with how it ended up!

Here's a show-and-tell of the Captain America stealth suit, in case you missed it: ua-cam.com/video/gDf75VS1NEo/v-deo.html
You should do a one month or 3 months body transformation challenge to yourself, for the sake of these suits.
Unsubbed, medicare for all not bullshit and back stabbing for all.
Cases for cases)
ua-cam.com/video/7bwjjIs4Y_c/v-deo.html hay Adam I was wondering what you thought of this kickstarter for a maker with limited space
kind of weird that the helmet isnt the first thing u see dont ya think?
Even the noises that thing makes when opening it up are perfect
I was thinking exactly that!
It would have definitely been awesome to check out a One Day Build for this case but I do agree that it sounds great!
That was my exact thought. I never thought a sound would feel that satisfying.
Sufficiently "industrial and military-esque" noises, apropos for Cap.
So much content from Adam this year, and the year is just begun.
We are fortunate !!
Zarges (sounds more like "Tsargas") Kisten /cases were used by the german military (Bundeswehr). The boxes are very purposeful and used by expedition teams as well. Some are waterproof, some are collapsable. A used box is around 200USD here in Germany. Very lightweight boxes but strong like nothing else. The company also builds ladders 🙂
An absolutely brilliant build! The only thing missing is a vintage brass field compass and a framed photo of Peggy Carter!
I feel like when he is on the move his entire outfit kind of straps together and can be easily nestled inside the shield. Likely folded a very particular way using the shoulder harness to package it together. Very cool mod though Adam. Love it!
He's so excited, his nerd-lisp is coming out.
your case builds are still my favorite projects that you’ve done. from your NASA case to your “beaver box”,blade runner gun display and your leather works tool carrier i love them all please make more cases for all the cool stuff you have. and thanks for the inspiration to just build cool shit.
Yeah it's a S.T.R.I.K.E. Suit from the S.H.I.E.L.D. counterpart Special Tactical Reserve for International Key Emergencies
Magna Ryuu yeah, I even think in the films there exists signage that has it expanded.
So cool. I had never seen a collapsible/folding metal case like that. Now I want one!
yeah me too ... the 'unpacking' alone is such a fantastic physical / audible experience.
and with all this 'recycle this' you'd think these would make a comeback big time (or maybe they will now that Adam has shown one ...).
*the solid no nonsense sound made by throwing the case down an the clasps being released and the lid set aside are pure geeky goodness...i can already hear the corresponding soundtrack that would be played during a scene where this would be featured*
Its just amazing to see this... because this is what cosplayers dream of doing. Being able to just absolutely make everything they can for the cosplays they're most proud of. Making a travel case that is so in character and as meticulously canon as it can get while being functional? As a cosplayer it just makes me so happy to see. I'm hardcore nerding out about this whole video.
There's got to be some Stark Industries signage on there for sure.
Jaster_501st I would are except it seems theres already Hammer tech logo on it...
Ooo yeah. Maybe like a plate somewhere saying that they made the case?
DUDE! This is another example of those “things you only know about if someone else puts you onto them but somehow work perfect for your needs”: ive got a suit of mandalorian armor, and wanted something neat and in-universe to carry it around in. I also have long been a fan of ancient samurai armor and specifically the chests the suits were carried around in. There was a very specific order to how the armor was to be packaged to fit and the whole effect is something that can be reproduced with mando armor as its basically similar in components. But I knew a lacquered wood case wouldnt fit the mandalorian aesthetic, but this is perfect. This is absolutely perfect. Ive gotta get one, give it a paintjob and greeblies and maybe pull it behind an atv on a dirt road for a bit and ill be in business, thanks for showing this off!
Sitting here waiting on the Martian suit......
Sitting here wait for the Martian costume for Spot......
sitting here waiting for the hell boy glove update.
Martian, from mars attacs!

😢
Sitting here waiting on the Martian dog costume for Adam...
If I were TSA and saw you I’d want to open just to look at your cool stuff 🤣
TSA Agent: Sir, I’m gonna need you to open that for me please.
*looks inside and stares for a solid second*
TSA Agent: You’re good. Next!
That did actually happen on the way to C2E2. TSA looked inside and was like, COOL!
Adam Savage’s Tested its like I have super powers! I’m the watcher and knew it happened 🤓
I never considered the thematic importance of cases or anything like that, it’s just really cool to see so much narrative added so simply. It boosts the cool factor so much.
It makes so much sense how Nike packages some of its more limited shoes now
I love you're enthusiasm Adam never change!
You have another suit and another case, now you also have proof of concept... do a one day build for the second one! I'd love to see that!
That is what I love about Adam: Who in their right mind would take into consideration the story told by the order in which items are packed? Adam does!
“I make cases for the objects I can’t stop thinking about” I won’t be surprised when you start making coffins 😂😂😂
Dude! That's a hell of an idea! Imagine getting burried in a coffin made by ADAM SAVAGE!
I love when you make boxes for favourite things. So exciting to watch.
I love this! Adam, thank you so much for showing me this in person. Can't wait for you to share the shield case with everyone and the amusing story of getting it through airport security.
Wait a second, wait a second...he HAS a shield case already?!?!? You've SEEN it?!?!? WOW!! I can't wait to see and hear this story!
Velvet Woods Maybe I wasn’t supposed to say anything...
@@wildkarde2406 Well....the cat's out of the bag now.... Thanks for sharing anyhow. I hope you don't get in trouble with Adam. Have a great day.
@@wildkarde2406 No worries! Adam is likely to make another case for the shield -- it's too hard to zip, currently.
@@tested Maybe start with a hard plastic cymbals case like drummers use on tour.
I love the irony of storing a Captain America costume in a surplus German military crate. :D
5:50 "your boots, your helmet,"
*..your motorcycle?* :p
Perfection. Looking forward to the finishing touches!!
Yes please! I love that metal case. Must have one now.
I love it when he makes cases and boxes
I love superhero costumes that could actually exist.
Also. That case is perfectly imperfect.
What about the shield?
YES ... I thought the same. "Surely Cap would have put the shield in the case with the suit?" ... but there were shots of him in civvies with the shield, and it is fairly large, so maybe he did simply carry it separate.
I thought that but then I also thought nothing can really damage the shield so why would he need to cover it.
@@Samlowry27B-6 Indeed, , so I would expect a shield sized bag that would fit inside/along the shield, leaving his other hand free
In endgame you can see a glimpse of a bag for the shield, SPOILER WARNING don't watch the clip if you haven't seen the movie ua-cam.com/video/qCUqkbtudYE/v-deo.html
@@alee_enn , in some '80s comics Cap carried his shield in a A2 drawing case.
This need, nay...MUST...end up as cannon in the MCU. Somewhere down the road there needs to be a scene where someone finds Caps box and opens it and sees that star front and center. This is a thing of beauty!!!
I absolutely love this!!! I see that you’ve weathered the leather! 👍🏻😉👍🏻 Idea for decorating it: Add one or two of those wing emblems that Cap has on his (non-stealth) helmets and the Howling Commandos had on their shoulders. I can’t wait to see what you do!!! 💙💙💙
Awesome...cant wait to see all the signage. Hope its a One Day Build!!!
I didn’t know how much I need this until I saw it
Taking it to the next level as usual
Great work
It's amazing what kind of influence this channel has. If you check google trends, Google searches for Zarges are up 70% and on Ebay Zarges items are being looked at more frequently.
Adam-
The seam in the top can be welded and cleaned up so wouldn't know it was cut.
Great case.
The Hammer Tech Sticker..... I'M LITERALLY SO EXCITED ABOUT THAT I DONT KNOW WHY
Why is Adam the best idk but I just love how he’s a kid at heart and a great family man witch is awesome he seems like a real good guy and I like him he’s entertaining
Do a one day build on putting the finishing touches on the Cap case!!!
That case NEEDS to be shown to Chris Evans! As for Cap’s shield, it’s special enough to warrant its own custom designed metal case; perhaps with some way to attach it to the main case.
I dunno, we've seen that he either carries it, or just leaves it leaning against the wall in his apartment. he needs to have quick access to it. I think the soft case he gives Falcon is probably the closest he ever used.
Tensen01 I would see the aluminum cases as “long term” storage; likely when Cap was still on ice, SHIELD had all of his equipment in a storage vault ready for retrieving when the time came when he was thawed out.
@@digitalrailroader the unfinished round one had been sitting on a table in stark`s lab. maybe the heater shield was in a storage locker though
that's one of the coolest cases I've ever seen, awesome work!
STRIKE is actually already an acronym in-universe for Special Tactical Reserve for International Key Emergencies
Adam! You have to have a packing diagram on the inside of the top lid! That would be SOO COOL!
Everything you need for a proper Cap cosplay... except the shield.
Watching the big Zargus case unfold was TRULY satisfying! Me and my friend send packages back and forth several times a year, and it would be DOPE to have one of these to trade back and forth, put more stickers on it or something! :D
Thanks man, for putting a smile on my face after a shit day. Cheers from New Zealand.
This was so cute to watch. I love how much love was put into a box!
God... I love boxes.
If you have a thing, its cool. If you have a box for it, thats nice.
If you have *_its_* box... 10 times better.
"Everything you need for a proper Cap cosplay".... except for the iconic shield!
Did you use the second half of the original box? If not and you still have the material, maybe you could film building that into a smaller carrier for the other Cap Suit. Either way that is an awesome build and design! Thanks for sharing.
Hey Adam. If you want to match the factory rivets, get a river head cutter/shaper. They use them airstream trailers and I think on planes too. You leave the rod in the middle of the rivet and it smoothes it our to look solid.
Would love it if the box folded out into its flat template and all the Cap suit compenents were held in place on the sides, floor etc for display....and the whole thing could be hung on a wall or folded up and chucked in the car.

Savage Transforming Restricted Incognito Kit Ensemble
Gotta have that post-credit scene. :)
For anyone wondering that box is the Zarges Klapbox. And they are mighty expensive
I love adam’s work. so original, smart and cool :)
Sad this wasn't a one day build, but thrilled to see the final product! another excellent build!
Adam can cosplay as Captain America really well
It reminds me of a modern/high tech version of the armor cases for samurai armor. Needs a stenciled star on the sides and top like the mon(family crest) on those boxes.
Nice Cases! I've never seen the fold down ones before!
I have a couple of the modern K470 Zarges cases, and they're beautiful pieces of kit.
It feels so good to be just a metal box, i need the final result.
So good
Awesome storage case , Adam !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Adam my man you've done it again, you are one cool guy I love seeing you videos and you have my total support love the Cap Winter Solder Strike Suit total cosplay glory to you dude can't wait to see what you build next peace out
Holy hell that's gorgeous. I want one for my Warhammer stuff.
Now everyone is going to want one!
that is just so perfect.
Needs some LEDs around the rim so when you open the lid the inside illuminates and the star shines
Cranking out videos lately. Keep up the good work :)
Coolest box I've ever seen!
Weeelllll, there ARE two suits. You could do a WWII olive drab 2nd case build (maybe adding in wood and/or leather bits) recording the new build for us.
Adam excitement is so infectious he's like a kid in a candy store.
I know Adam is a lover of boxes, I had never heard of the Zarges box, it's beautiful... I would love to see a video of his top ten countdown of boxes such as these that are/were made at large scale production and can be found out in the world. (i.e. not those done as one off builds, don't get me wrong I love those also.)
Zargis case... (Inhales) That cool!!! (continues to watch more and just jaw drops)
I think the exterior of the case would look awesome painted with a translucent smoke-gray paint of some kind to knock down the shininess some and bring it a little more in line with the SHIELD aesthetic
This is amazing. A light might be nice touch or maybe even a stark industries logo
When even Adams hair is excited, you know it's gonna be good
This is a German military transport box, also referred to as the „Bread Box“. The fron reads „Box, Transport“, followed by what I think is an NSN.
Five bucks says the mismatch rivets drive him crazy and he drills out the old ones
more likely he finds someone who collects old tools or has an old tool musem/workshop and replaces the new rivets with matching old ones, and then finds a chemical process to age and weather them properly.
@@Ticktok_of_Oz I can so see that. Lol
For a hard case, I would go with something more like a pelican case, but something like a duffle or small ruck sack would make more sense for Cap to use while he travels. Those are more equivalent of more modern military storage for gear while on mission.
If you look on the MCU wiki STRIKE stands for (Special Tactical Reserve for International Key Emergencies). Also the Civil War suit case should be something like a Stark Industries case.
at 5:38 the back belt harness looks different from the other video when he got the stealth suit from Kevin Gossett and Robbie Finch.
This is a perfect fit!
wow i didn’t know i needed a case like that
What about a shield?
I think it's about time Adam learnt how to use solid rivets. Pop rivets just don't look or work the same.
You got your boots, your helmet........your shield? Where does cap store his shield? As well, you build this off camera...as a one suit case...but you have 2 suits! LOL, so do us ALL a favor and build the next one ON CAMERA :-D
I always look forward to these videos lol love Adam!
Adam Savage is insane.
I don’t remember my last cosplay that would fit inside a 17” cube.
If it's made by Zarges, who also make Ladders, we in the UK pronounce it 'Zarjeez' :D
Zarges cases are in the movies.(Iron Man, Avengers etc) Forget which movie but you ca clearly see the case and Zarges name above left of Black Widows head. I did context work for Zarges and they had a list of all the moves their cases had appeared in.
In case you want the canon acronym, S.T.R.I.K.E. stands for Special Tactical Reserve for International Key Emergencies. However, can’t wait to see what you’ve come up with. Love all the Cap content were getting, Hope you manage your get Chris Evans into the shop at some point.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.T.R.I.K.E.
What a cool case
Love the “trunkcated” version 😂🤣
Would be even cooler (I’m sure Adam would have no problem coming up with it, I’ve tried thinking up ways to but have given up halfway through multiple times) if there was a way to have the costume on a display rack that was collapsible so you could essentially pull out a hanger and the costume would slowly rise fully assembled once erect.
as cool as it might be ... I think captain America would have something practical and straightforward.
I could see Ironman having a case with all sorts of slick high tech features.
i just love that adam has a "favorite case maker"
Absolutely amazing....now where does your shield go? lol
If you watch the Avengers movie that’s the exact crates Shield uses if not very close! I’m watching this and go wow those look very familiar so I watch the movie looking for the scene and sure enough it’s almost spot on! Adam Savage the only man to make the exact prop from a movie without realizing it lol
Suit- Tactical, Reconnaissance, Integration, Kill and Evade.
For the really nerdy out there, the 13 digit number shown at 1:47 is a NATO Stock Number or NSN for short. The first four digits determine roughly what it is ie, a shipping crate. The two digits in the middle are the country code, in this case it is Germany and the last seven is the individual item number.
That is awesome, adam if you do more like this please do it as a 1 day build or a video in general
