Thanks Bethany, sorry you had such an ordeal. I'm surprised the dealer, or the trailer manufacturer, didn't have a tool to give or sell you. I've been lucky and never had to deal with lug nut covers.
Wow Bethany! The only lug nut covers I have dealt with were on a Saturn Ion car. They were threaded onto the lug nuts and just required a lug wrench. What you have here is crazy. I wonder who the Einstein was that came up with this design? So glad you were not stranded somewhere with a flat! Stay safe!
Right?!? After they were cut off I thought about that scenario… being stranded on a highway with a flat and no way to get the stupid covers off. Horrible horrible design. Thankfully that scenario has now been avoided.
You are very welcome. I got them pre-covid at Lowes for $99. I'm sure they are more now but I love them in my workshop. Very handy. I did find some comparable ones on Amazon. I'll include a link: amzn.to/3GKnOD9
It's a two piece factory lug nut you take off with a socket and ideally replace with a solid chrome one piece lug nut. You don't need to take off the outside part to remove the factory lug. Sorry they make it confusing to save manufacturing costs.
I’d use a piece of sandpaper and needle nose vice grips together and then I’d never ever put them back on. A trailer is for utility and work not to look flash, those products shouldn’t exist! Sorry you had to go through that! 🙏
You're an amazing person. I love your ambition girl!
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I try my best to get things done on my own. This definitely was a challenge.

Yeah I’m surprised as well. I’m disappointed this was such an ordeal. I thought maybe just maybe it could be done quickly. Guess not. Haha!

Thanks for the info!!!!
Btw, where did you get those white storage cabinets on your back wall?

You are a patient person. That was time you won’t get back, lol😊 I would of gave up much quicker.
Haha! I’m so stubborn. I really wanted to be able to pull them off.

Ahhhh good to know. We decided to just remove them.

I totally agree with you! So frustrating! I'm sure not the only one who has encountered this. I agree work trailers don't need the fancy wheels.
