Thank you for going over the parts list it really helped. I appreciate you saving the ole girls from the crusher and makes great content. The videos get me motivated to get after my second gen.
It's funny you put out this video today. I have a 07 5.9 3500 DRW. I am doing a 48RE to a NV5600 swap. I just installed my input shaft into my NV271D yesterday. All went well and I hope to have it on the road the next couple of weeks.
Thanks for sharing that. Great info. I fo live my 4th gen G56! Tempted to try a G56 swap on a 5th gen. I know the Aisin is great, but just to be different. All the electronics might make that difficult though. Looking forward to seeing your 5500!
I love manual stuff, just in the bowtie. NV-4500. two wheel drive. Found a 2500 4x4 with 5.7 bought it and never looked back. Getting to old to work on them myself now. But I love the five speed stuff.
Currently have an nv3500,4500 both Chevy and my second g56. Did have an 02 nv5600 never liked the shift pattern (reverse). The tight shift pattern of the g56 and the nv3500 are actually similar
I finally got my g56 conversion to my 95 4x4 done . I had to cut and weld in the floor out of a 98 for the floors shifter for the 4x4 . A rebuilt g56 , rebuilt tc , bm short shifter , custom cross member, one piece aluminum drive, twin disc Val air clutch , a box of x Matt to help with noise on transmission tunnel and floor . A lower boot for the g56 and a floor console for a 6 speed . I had to modify the floor shifter for the 4x4 to help clear the g56 . Make the rod longer to connect the 4x4 shifter . I connected the clutch safety switch to the neutral safety wiring . Got the reverse switch wired In . Thanks for the video
@@VBELTandSON I had a few learning experiences. I had the transfer case overhauled. The shop that overhauled it did not change out the shift shaft seal
I got the same 4” shifter you have and I put one on my 4x4 shifter and Iam a old retired car hauler for GM and yes I know Iam driving Dodge , not really Iam driveling 5.9 cummins and the truck I have now bought new 05 Dodge 3500 4x4 long bed dusky. My first new Dodge was brand new 2500 standard cab long bed 5 speed manual and my wife said I could not have 2 trucks so I sold it and still makes me mad to think. My first one cost 19500 bucks my 05 cost my 36000 and both my trucks Ziebart rust proffing where they drill all the holes and stay everything inside door rockers and it works. My tip for the day is do not drive with your hand resting on your shifter the little plastic pads will wear out pretty quick and then you a rattle that will drive you nuts. In the day most semi drivers put a rubber hose on their shifters to kill the noise coming threw your shifter and it does work !

Does anyone have any more info on how to defeat the neutral safetys from the auto? About to try to tackle a nv4500 swap this weekend.
I’ll be posting a new video swapping a 6 speed. All that info will be in there
What bolts did you use for the Crank to Flywheel... I have an '05 but ARP only has up to 04... any ideas?
All the same
@@VBELTandSON Thank you for the quick reply!!

How hard is it to convert a 99 dually, 24v, NV4500 from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive?
I’d sell it and buy a 4 wheel drive. That would be alot of work
@@VBELTandSON that's what I figured. I'll just leave it. I like the 99 because of the manual but if I really want to tow anything, like my 5th wheel. I use my 19 Laramie 3500HD as you can see on my page.
I'm like you, I would rather have the manual. Like the 18 speed in the 6x6 Peterbilt watertruck that I drive for work.
My friend had made an older Ford into a 4x4 and it was basically just bolt in the Ford parts. Because all the holes and wiring is already there. So I was just wondering if the Dodge was the same.
After 4 automatic transmission I'd like to do a manual swap. My truck has been power modified. Auto can't handle the power.
Who has built your autos?
Is the grey flat bed a short bed?
No. That bed is over 8 ft
Beautiful work nice truck
anybody can tell you dance with their diesel engines are great but the main I mean automatic transmission ain't worth a damn I done two of them trucks that you showed on your internet and I love doing it
I told my friends I'll just love taking them automatic diesel transmissions out and put manual transmissions in it I'm from Texas
What’s funny about this is you talk about dodge trucks and there is an ad popped up below the video for Chevrolet lol
Haha damn. Well I have two chevys also
Will a 6 speed work with a 12 valve too, or just a 24
Both trucks in video are 12 valves that have 6 speed swaps. All the same
@@VBELTandSON thank you! long day, I forgot they were both 12 valves, I’m about to 6 speed swap mine very soon
What new era? No more 08 intro start up!?
I know right!? That’s one of my favorite parts of the channel. Can’t beat the sound of the 08 though
