- This is a time-lapse video of the construction of the LPL building near UTC in San Diego/La Jolla. The video ends just before Christmas of 2013. It was assembled from photos taken by a camera placed on the roof of the U.S. Bank building directly southeast of the construction site.

Can we take a moment and appreciate how long the battery of the camera lasted for recording all of this construction of this building for years
Same
the video gave me more questions than answers
Its simple. They will replace the battery every few months so it will last longer. Maybe they will replace the battery at night because they not gonna record a video during night time right.
It wa a collection of photos. Not videos
A year I would think if they weren't replacing the batteries. approximately 2 seconds/day. 348 seconds long, approximately a year
Wow I can't believe that they made this in just twelve minutes!!
they can actually made this much faster if they use the ×2 play speed
Did anyone else notice the flex in those tower cranes? Scary 😬
Saw a show on the Discovery channel, and they are built to have some give, if they weren't , the stresses would be to much and the crane would fail. The whole bend don't break theory.
Aaron Buttitchy what are tower cranes?
I noticed that the crane operator would feel it leaned back and forth.
Raditz Saiyan the 2 big cranes... at either end of the building
Chinese made
That's insane that this came up on my feed! This was the first securities firm I ever worked for as a trader for 6 years and then went retail as an adviser for another 6. Great firm, nice people and I loved living in UTC/La Jolla and pretty much walking to work everyday! Go LPL!
About 370 days + / - 20 days worth of video. Great timelapse!
Fascinating thank you for posting.
Great video! This must have taken some dedication.
shocked to see how much the tower cranes sway!
will harbuck they aren't swaying...
The cranes were swaying. Check the tall crane at 2:16-2:18.
Swaying is a good thing. Even steel is flexible. Would break otherwise.
😂😂
It simple
6:08 RIP nice view of city.
this is so cool watchin this, lights flashing!
Wow, I wonder how much it cost to build this and also how long?
amazing
wow 13 and a half storys i think ! this was amazing and yes the cranes were wobbling lol
Nice work!
great video Jorge
Amazing !!!! TYSM for this time lapse
this was very cool to watch. im curious how long it took for the entire build.
Thanks
Hi from India, which camera did you use for this? & how did you shoot ? did you continuously check ? or charge the camera? plzzzz plzzz help
I wasn't involved with the camera setup, unfortunately, I believe the property owner set it up. As I recall, the camera was just snapping a photo every few minutes and then archiving the photos. All I did was create the video from a few hundred still photos using ffmpeg. Hope that helps.
how did you make the video from images? which software do you use?
I used ffmpeg www.ffmpeg.org/
Amazing Changes..
It’s been 3 years Since you said this, what are you doing now?
Watching this on x2
Hello, can i use this video for my video project?
Absolutely!
How many years did it take to make this building
Hi. Can I ask which camera you used to capture this please.
i like how night passes by really fast
Great job ❤ Where your place?
why do they not use foundation piles (the one that has to be hit in to the ground)
can i use this video for my artwork? non profit
Okay by me! :)
How can you do this with videos taken from a surveillance cameras? What program do you use?
I used this www.ffmpeg.org/
Hello! Is it possible to use your videos with timelapses on your channel, refill to yourself? Thank you!
Certainly, feel free.
May I use a part of your video? It's for my school project, non-profit. I will definitely give credits since the video is not mine.
Go for it
@@jorge2150 thank you sir.
What is the foundation type for this structure? Is it Matt
aft foundation?
How long do you think it took them to build the building.
I believe someone said 370 days
What sort of settings did you use for the camera? Was it set to take a couple pictures a day? Was this a video?
The camera was set up on the roof of the U.S. Bank building next to the construction site, I'm not sure by whom and have no idea what the settings were. It was taking a photo every 15 minutes, I just stitched them all together using ffmpeg.
How many photos were taken. Curious
@@AfricanUA-camr I don't recall exactly, but it was around 18-19,000 images. Figure it was about 48 images per day (one every 15 minutes for maybe 12 hours a day) for about 400 days. Or, another way of calculating it, 24 frames per second multiplied by 768 seconds of video. Somewhere in that ballpark.
@@jorge2150 WOW!!
How much Gb that took?
What was happening in the rear area where they made a trench to the parking lot? Is that an underground connection to parking? 12:15
That's correct
The lot behind the construction was also been developed and is a similar building that houses KPMG. The work been undertaken immediately below the US Bank building the camera was on is the La Jolla Commons visitor Parking lot complex.
The nights are cut out?
probs didn't work at night due to regulations
Can I please please use this video? I'll give proper credits. The video will be used for non commercial educational purposes
Absolutely...thank you
Me at 3:00 AM: LPL Time-Lapse Construction
Just a friedly tip.
Use music, it makes the videos so much better.
Can any architects/engineers explain why they spend the first minute digging then re-filling then re-digging the lot?
i noticed so much digging also?
15 years in construction.
Who else is watching this during quarantine.

1 years 2 months this time lapse
Noted Thank you sir ✌👌👍
how about the foundation?
I was thinking the same. No piles. No major footings.
don't watch it in full screen. i nearly got a seizure
X2O8MZV9 Something must be wrong with you because it's so fine with me.
X2O8MZV9 Might wanna see a doctor about that.
had to speed up the timelapse .... they took too long to finish a 12 story building.
Depends on which country they were in. They may not had enough men to finish it quickly
2 tahun 10 bulan..
Its only 12 -13 floors why does it needs obstruction lights ?
Ở Việt Nam còn phải dùng lưới che phủ công trình nữa
That took like one year
I noticed it never got night , IT WAS DAY EVERY TIME ON THIS TIMELASPE
I removed the night photos when creating the video. No construction activity at night so it didn't make much sense to include those. Also, it would have doubled the length of the video.
What I was interested in was what was being built in the neighboring lot
Nothing
The lot behind the construction was also been developed and is a similar building that houses KPMG. The work been undertaken immediately below the US Bank building the camera was on is the La Jolla Commons visitor Parking lot complex.
they really do just spawn one of those tower cranes lol
I just look at the cranes swaying in teh wind
nobody:
people in lego commercials:
Coming soon
Side comment* if you notice the cranes are weather vanes/vains (directing wind)
Every day is approximately 3 seconds
Nicee

their hdd storage must be more than 500 GB to make this timelapse
it's actually slow motion. In reality, they finished the building in 2 minutes.
Legends are watching it in 2x speed😂😂
The cranes were really dancing
Nothing like a 12 story building to piss off your neighbors
fortnite mfs when they heard a gunshot
Yeah lol
I want to work.
video is no sound.
Yeah, that's because it was created from a few thousand still images. I guess I could add some music. :-)
Nice 2years in 12minute
Slow motion yall!
