I believe this is the kind I bought so I'm glad this was posted on UA-cam. Doesn't seem complicated...don't want to jinx myself.

Outlet fitting on dryer is a 4 in. crimped standard male duct fitting. It is tapered and does not lend itself to being clamped with a hose clamp as shown. The Deflecto flexible aluminum duct tends to just slide off when the clamp is tightened. Please try again.

Adding a 90-degree elbow at each end could help prevent crushing, too.

In other words, useless for when close clearances are needed, as the duct can't even form a tight 90. Tried installing with minimum clearance semi-rigid elbows - the stiffness was so great that bending it popped the fittings off the vents even with clamps. This product is only good for installations with large clearance spaces.

So what do I do with the ends? Am I supposed to re-attach them? What do the end pieces do? Don't forget you just clip them off and never explained what they are for or if they should be re-attached in certain conditions or what. This video is not specific enough, so please get back to me.

After cutting the duct to the appropriate length, you attach the ends to both the dryer exhaust vent and the exhaust tail pipe. It's important to cut any excess duct to prevent lint from building up. Thanks for reaching out!
