Thank you for this awesome video! All other videos I've been watching only showed Bandura's first Bobo Doll experiment and not the second one, which was about the learning-performance distinction.
Anyone here know the difference between Social Cognitive perspective vs Social Cognitive Theory? I used a kaplan book that described the 2 terms in different chapters. Thanks everyone!
The counter to the counter is that for thousands of years before mass media ever appeared, humans were violent, perhaps even more violent. Violence in mass media being problematic in teaching children violent behavior would logically lead to an increase in child (and later adult) violence. That's not the case at all, in fact quite the opposite.
I had a bozo the clown one, we called it a punching bag. We didn’t go crazy on it, the point of fun was because it came back up. I never ever seen anyone use it violently. Only in a fun way. We didn’t yell at it, it was a stinking toy. Only a grownup can teach a child to be aggressive to the bag

boring but precise. others tend to misrepresent what the experiment was about. lesser "teachers" use the bandura experiment as evidence that every videogame leads to world war III.

I don't believe Bandura's study would ever get approved by an IRB Committee today.
