i REMEMBER being in the audience and literally everyone there was holding their breaths when they almost ran over that cymbal and i remember cheering when he picked it back up god that was amAzing
Up until 2015 all shows would have been posted by WGI so you could watch pretty much every show. However around the start of the 2016 season that's when the Contract with Flomarching started and they deleted all of the shows and started striking down any shows people posted. The only reason Pulse, POW, and Chino Hills HS are always posted is due to Box 6 owning the shows and have copyright protection to their shows.
Fisher Goodwin I don’t know if it works the same way with WGI but I marched DCI, and I got a link to a video of our show that wasn’t on UA-cam. Also: we constantly got vids of our show throughout the season for educational reasons. I guess it just depends on the group.
I remember in wind ensemble a cymbal strap broke when I went for a big hit. Cymbal flew in the air and I caught it and did the hit 😂. Luckiest ever, I just used a mallet rest of the time and did a suspended type thing. Cymbal straps always break at the most in inopportune time. Nice save!
Damn ive seen this show so many times and I never even knew a cym was dropped. I cant imagine dropping a cym for finals and not having it for the cym feature
My marching band used it in a show one time entitled "War"--it was our highest scoring show in school history and got 1st in the state. One of the judges said on tape that he'd "never seen a song create such an emotional effect over a show before." Emotional song, emotional movements--it was a great pick in all three cases in my mind.
Does anyone know what the show looks like after 2:35? I literally can't watch anything other than the guy that dropped the cymbal. Absolutely incredible performance!
Does anyone know who sings the vocal parts? It sounds a lot like Jon Licht's voice to me right after the snare solo and i'm really curious who that is.
How’d the cymbal drop did his hand come out the strap or did the strap slip off the cymbal I’m guessing the strap came off since he didn’t do the rest of the show with it after he picked it up
Bruh. How did this show get second under Broken City? I understand WGI isn't all about the music but broken city spent two minutes hardly playing anything and these guys within the first 2 minutes have already played a show I'd deem to be first. What happened to WGI being about music? I hate that shows where the books hardly have notes in them can win nowadays. It's so boring. You get invested in a group with fantastic music and body to see another group do a bunch of body and no music win.
marimbalick well... the musicality within that smaller amount of playing was superior, you must be one of those people who have yet to learn that the space and dynamics of a piece are equally important, further one group had a huge mess up, good recovery sure but a mess up nonetheless that effected musicality and visual things happening. Also broken cities show was in a GE sense a little more high concept and loaded with meaning (not to say this isn’t a master piece either, everything in this is amazing) but overall broken city just had harder stuff when they played, a better concept and execution visually of said concept, and a better run on the day. And it’s not like DCI where you can make a reasonable argument that “BD places higher than they should a lot of times just cause they’re BD” or anything like that because the environment and dynamics surrounding these two groups aren’t there for that, broken city has consistently put out quality products and not placed first when in my opinion they had the ability to do so (cough cough spine cough). These groups both had fantastic shows just one in my opinion edges out the other in multiple areas. Pulse has consistently put out products that I love but this was definitely the second place show, and you know what I’m not mad about that cause I don’t love the groups I love for how they place, I’ve loved broken city for a while but they haven’t been able to hack a first place in a bit, I love Atlanta quest and GMU and Equinox but we see how that turns out for them, and MCM are inconsistent in their scoring as well, with the jump from 17 to 18 being the most notable.

That man managed to drop his cymbal during finals, play everything absolutely perfectly, then recover it immaculately. What a legend.
Even myself cheered when he got his cymbal
2:30 is when his cymbal ccomes off but props to him for making it look so clean with only 1!!!!
The show must go on!
Aaron you poor soul
That man is a cymbal GOD
Jordan Simmons I didn’t even realized what happened until I read all the Comments
I saw it without reading
This is my favorite show visual wise, the symmetry gives me joy
DID THE TENORS JUST FREAKING SPLIY?!!?? THATS SHITS FIRE BROOOO LIKE I cant even right now I just can't.
Bruh i didnt even notice the cymbal until i started reading the comments
Seeing this in person was amazing! I am a big pulse fan and this show gave me chills!
Cymbals mvp
And Zach
Why doesn’t every group post a video of their finals run? Then everyone wouldn’t have to worry about getting videos taken down

Yeah seriously. Not being able to watch your shows doesn't make me want to join your group 😧
Rogue flomarching is so annoying 😒

There used to be DVDs but not anymore. Lots of groups will perform in Dayton without ever having a recording of their show
3:44 that cymbal almost got crushed
The hype at the stadium was crazy over that cymbal
What cymbal
Nevermind 😂
Lightning fast reflexes

Yeah that Spock split was absolutely insane!!
The show that left everyone standing!
#plusepercussion I need to come see yall practices or practice with yall. Being on team would be great 😭 I love how yall performe
By the way I'm a former violinist. Now I play vibraphone.
you need to audition and pay like 3500 dollars to practice and perform with them
@@jasonstone3246 I'm up to that😂. I had to a pay 1200 for a half of a season because of quarantine. It's not that much if you save.
2 different groups used "Imagine" in their shows, Freedom Perc. Used it also
Ethan B yeah like sweet dreams last year lol

elijahs face at 6:04 was amazing

What happened at 3:58 that everyone cheered for?
Alexandria Bowmer cymbal pickup. One of the hypest moments of the night.
@@freerunnerx5 oh frick, i didnt even realize he dropped it
Dats why they got 2nd
@@Mr_Curtis_Kelley No it isn't. There's no way they could have beaten BCP's score
MrPiklez maybe the judges just hated it and took off two points
Very cool video 🥁🎼

I wonder what the score was
Legends Official 1st. Broken City Percussion
2nd Pulse Percussion(this Group)
3rd Music City Mystique
Dominic Phan seems right

Is the guy on the drum kit supposed be turned around looking behind him the entire time or...
Gabini he's watching their feet for timing
@@buicksea1802 Yeah a lot of kit drummers in wgi and drum corp will spend a lot of the show facing backward to get precise eighth note downbeats
@@qmoyer thats why we have our drum kit face sideways
nick just does what he does
This show would be awesome if it wasn’t poorly paced
Where did they place this year?
2nd
Next season don't forget to carry your tripod. it's so shaky.
You know its Ian Grom and John Mapes who take these videos
Rogue then thy should bring their tripod, they’re still human. Or just use a stabilizing software
