The memories. I watched this in the arena. The camera audio doesn’t give justice to the scream. That scream was ear piercing and echoed through the whole arena. Fantastic show.
The girls scream at the end gives me chills every time. And why did nobody cheer for the cymbal flip by the middle cymbal at 6:50 ? That shit was POPPIN’
@TheMoorester TheHaggette Victor is doing "Smile" this year, which is a lot different than this. Unless they're doing it next year, which would surprise me. Being from Webster's indoor percussion ensemble, I would be pretty dissapointed if they decided to copy another show, only 2 years after its showing. BTW, if you are a part of Victor, I would like to tell you that your show this year is phenomenal, and I really appreciate the work you guys put in. I hope you make it to finals this year like you did last year.
I stand corrected as I saw Victor performe today and uh yup, You guys did fucking fantastic with your variation of this show. I don't actually know whether you're in the ensemble, but if you are, I really hope you guys can beat east syracuse, like your show is so much better and way more clean. Good luck next week in finals!
Goosebumps every time. My favorite indoor show I've seen and one of my favorite shows for any marching activity that I've seen. Well done Pulse. ❤️❤️❤️
Drumline.Asian l MuseScore Compositions MCM took a bigger risk and performed a cleaner show. Not that this show is bad or anything. That's just what it came down to.
I love this show so much from the music to the moments to the part where the snares are featured and how perfectly it meshes with the pit, and the whole ending sequence from when the dad is possessed and then the slow creepy music to the daughter gets pulled under. Just one of the best shows by far. Always have and always will be a fan of Pule Percussion.
I laughed in amazement at the end! Such a well done show! The music with the movements and visuals were the best I've ever seen! Well done Pulse... Well done indeed!
In person It was amazing! My line went to compete there and we got to see them, and it is so much better in person. The recording "conveniently" didn't pick up on a blood curdling scream that I heard easily from one of the back rows. That was probably my favorite moment in the show (sans quads solo).
I have never seen such a captivating show, I have watched it dozens of times, everything is perfect from the beginning to the end, the unfolding of the script is just amazing, there is no fault of taste, and the end is just amazing, we still want others as well written!
I made it a priority to see this show all 3 times in Dayton. At prelims, they were one of the only groups to get a standing ovation from the crowd. It was nuts.
there has never been a wgi show like this ever IMO. These set up a play set it feels like and told an amazing story through music and dance. this is easily one of my top 5 shows ever
I forgot just how absolutely amazing this show was. Like, holy shit, I got chills all over again. This is so well written and so thematic, I'm so glad they medaled
This is my all time favorite show. I march snare but for some reason everytime I watch this that cymbal solo catches my attention and, just holy crap. I love that cymbal solo
Is no one talking about how perfect the cymbal feature is??? I played cymbals for a year in my winter percussion for my senior year of high school and it ain’t easy to hold those things without shaking sometimes
This was a great show! I have been around WGI for a long time and this was one of the most entertaining. I didn't see any live shows this year, but I am surprised the Mystique pull out the win against this show. I feel like the book is much more difficult for this show and whole performance is fun and energetic. But I can't say for sure since I never saw them live!
Chase Daily from the stands, the music for pulse was better than MCM, but MCM definitely had them in GE and visual. MCM did some things that had never even been attempted on the floor and they pulled it off very well. Not to mention that the judges usually don’t give points for a harder book, it’s mostly about execution. This was my favorite show of the season, but I can’t say that MCM’s accomplishment wasn’t well deserved, because it was.
Im very shocked that This didn’t get First it Sounds amazing and this was the first introduction to WGI to me and made me want to join Indoor Percussion.
MaxKreuzerDrums same, might've been dirty is some parts but overall the performance and entertainment factor alone should've won. Definitely a fan favorite though.
I've watched this performance over 10 times because it is that complex. it's a classic ghost story. The band that plays don't exist. They are all ghosts in hunt for the girl. The phone rings on one side of the couch...moves mysteriously to the other and a ghost is at the end. The father yanks the cord put of the wall and yet it still rings. Watch the ghost possess the father with turning bookcase. In the end the ghosts steal the girl. it's a perfect story via percussion. I suggest watching as many times it takes to appreciate the auxiliary percussion, the drumline...and the symbols for as long as it takes to see how brilliant a performance. I understand why The Sons of Man won....it was beautiful and Vegas....so as no.2...you're no 1 with me. I was a percussionist as like my son...he had the privilege to see you live. Amazing work of art.
I really relate to the dad character, I'd be skeptical too if my spouse told me our house is haunted by a drumline :/
Finally someone who understands my plight
Same
But cool tho imagine it if you’re in the band they could help you
The dad character is my marching instructor
@@nate-ox5lw lol
This show is so amazing I can't decide whether to direct my attention to the percussion or the storyline.
Yes it is, and the end is just amazing
Fr
Thats why this show deserves more than one listen. I have listened to it atleast 20 times since seeing it live
when i saw this live i had the same conflict 😅
That’s why you watch it more than once
The memories. I watched this in the arena. The camera audio doesn’t give justice to the scream. That scream was ear piercing and echoed through the whole arena. Fantastic show.

Thank you for letting us know, this comment may as well be the most useful one out of all the comments here!
Lucky you!!! I wish I could see shows like this in person, I bet this one was magical
The girls scream at the end gives me chills every time. And why did nobody cheer for the cymbal flip by the middle cymbal at 6:50 ? That shit was POPPIN’
I think it could have been in a much better spot, there was a lot going on.
BRUH
@@Queeze101 for real, if that was pulled off during the cymbal feature, man that would’ve been nuts
NOW THATS COOL
I didn’t hear that til today but AAAA THATS SO POWERFUL
THIS IS MY FAVORITE WGI SHOW OF ALL TIME
Victor indoor is doing this show or vipe victor indoor percussion ensemble
@TheMoorester TheHaggette Victor is doing "Smile" this year, which is a lot different than this. Unless they're doing it next year, which would surprise me. i was i was in the front ensemble and i was on a dtx i think but now i am on toms
thanks we go to dayton ohio every other year i think it is a horrible idea
2017 really was the year of WGI
The shot slap is so satisfying

5 years later, and when I'm asked what my favorite drumline show is, this is still my immediate answer. This show is a masterpiece. Love you Pulse!
Only one I've seen that compared to it even slightly was "nightmare at 20k feet" THAT was a wild show.
Honestly, one of my favs. And the slap and the rimshot together was 👌🏼 ooh girl it was good.
5:45 is probably my favorite closer from any indoor or outdoor show ever
7:20 I was really worried for a sec that the camera wouldn't pan over to the left
Goosebumps every time. My favorite indoor show I've seen and one of my favorite shows for any marching activity that I've seen. Well done Pulse. ❤️❤️❤️
Collin Brown go watch mcm 2017 that's my favorite so far
I'm really confused as to why Pulse didn't get first. This show is actually perfect in every way, shape, and form.
this is the rule book www.wgi.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/2018-Perc-Rules.pdf
What caused them not to get first though?
Drumline.Asian l MuseScore Compositions MCM took a bigger risk and performed a cleaner show. Not that this show is bad or anything. That's just what it came down to.
Well, mcm's show was much cleaner and just better in general. But pulse should have gotten 2nd instead of broken city
Stupid late to this, but MCM took an extreme amount of risks and nailed everything visually, while Broken City cleaned the hell out of their book.
6:48 did you see the cymbal throw ?!
i did now
nothing in comparison to their cymbal throws in 2016
Jorgè Lopez nothing like Music City Mistique with fantastique.
That man crazy haha. Glad he caught it. Never noticed that until now and I’ve watched this video like 50 times lol
Just noticed it 😂
literally one of the best shows ever written
Best show concept of WGI 2017, for me.
In my opinion, Rise Percussion's show in 2017 was really good, too.
6:07 the rimshot on that slap hahaha
Dude. I duckin cried at the end of the show.
True art at it's finest
same bro
I can't help but grin everytime the show ends. Great closer
This is one of the only shows I’ll watch over and over again
guess who's currently hiding in the restroom at school trying to watch this :^))))
is it you?
butter nutter lmao I’m in algebra watching this 😂
I'm in science 😂
Someone who isn't you
im a teacher :/

I'm always coming back to this show.
Almost 4 years later and this is still the best WGI show
I have never seen such a captivating show, I have watched it dozens of times, everything is perfect from the beginning to the end, the unfolding of the script is just amazing, there is no fault of taste, and the end is just amazing, we still want others as well written!

this show was awesome, please continue to write shows that tell a story with the performers as well as this one did!
By far my favorite performance, glad i got to see it in person. Still coming back to this video to watch years later.
Same
I turn into a human goosebump every single time during uninvited
I had to watch this show twice, once for the story and once for the actual drumming. Great effort holy cow!!!
there has never been a wgi show like this ever IMO. These set up a play set it feels like and told an amazing story through music and dance. this is easily one of my top 5 shows ever
can never get this show out of my head.
This is my favorite show ive seen so far it is a beautifully executed production. The ending gives me chills everytime
Revisiting this performance.
This is still one of my favorite perfomance in wgi.
i seriously can’t stop watching the WGI show. it just amazes me how the story line makes you feel some type of emotion.
Still to this day my favorite indoor show of all time!!!
I love this. Everything about this show is amazing. I love th quads and the cymbals and front ensemble. The visual. The basses and snares. I love this
Rewatching in 2022, still just as good as when they first performed it. A true gem in this activity regardless of their finals score.
I forgot just how absolutely amazing this show was. Like, holy shit, I got chills all over again. This is so well written and so thematic, I'm so glad they medaled
I watched Pulse yesterday at finals and they’re show this year was awesome
Okay but like the rimshot when she slaps him is just UGH 👌
I looked up wgi 2017 and this is the first video to come up. It was one of my favorite shows there.
This is my all time favorite show. I march snare but for some reason everytime I watch this that cymbal solo catches my attention and, just holy crap. I love that cymbal solo
The cymbals at 6:30 = YES
I haven't been involved in anything marching arts-related for a good few years now, but I always find myself coming back to this show.
Favorite show of all time. Hands down. It was amazing live.
By far the best show of 2017. Change my damn mind
Holy shit, this show manages to give me chills overtime I watch it!
I honestly loved your guys show this year it's so physical and mentally challenging. And the hype at the end is amazing
Is no one talking about how perfect the cymbal feature is??? I played cymbals for a year in my winter percussion for my senior year of high school and it ain’t easy to hold those things without shaking sometimes
This show is absolutely incredibly entertaining. Thank you for this
This show was my introduction to the marching arts. It’s still as great as the day I first saw it
Same here. I come back to this show every so often and it never gets old
My all-time favorite indoor show - especially 5:45 to the end...
That scream sent CHILLS down my spine. Ugh the urge to do a spooky show is S T R O N G
6:02 Man this entire syncing the movements with the snares was cool/.

this show gave me all the goosebumps
So we not gonna talk about how perfect the background vocals are in the closer?
Best show ever
I just found out that the mom performer was a tech at my school lmao she marched with the blue devils and blue coats too !!!
This was my first indoor show I ever saw besides the one in was doing at the time and it is my favorite they earned that first place
Sean Haggard they didnt get first
Wasnt to fond of it at first but after hearing more about it and it making more sense i love it!!!
Why did this not get first?!?!?!? I love this show!!!!!!!
What a freaking good show
6:20 gets me everytime AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH so good
Once they get the song over the ensemble I get chills every time
I just noticed three years later that a cymbal player at around 6:50 throws his cymbal in the air 👀💀🔥
That was pretty cool. Never noticed that before.
to this day this is my favorite show.
Yep, show still makes me cry
the crowd cheering as the dad returns at 6:32 is the most badass thing ever change my mind
I've never seen an indoor show before, and I have a feeling this was a bad one to see *first* 😂
I love this show!!
Pulse percussion will never not be my favorite
i still get chills when she screams
Obsessed with this show.
THE CYMBAL FLIP HELLO SO FIRE
Im very shocked that This didn’t get First it Sounds amazing and this was the first introduction to WGI to me and made me want to join Indoor Percussion.
This was genuinely haunting
I just, I love it so much
should've won in my opinion.
MaxKreuzerDrums same, might've been dirty is some parts but overall the performance and entertainment factor alone should've won. Definitely a fan favorite though.
Same. My favorite indoor show lately.
Louie808z no. MCM was cleaner and riskier
Cymbal line
Snare shot at 6:08 is absolute perfection

They haunt the mother...possesses the father...and steal the girl.
i swear every time they pull the girl back under i get chills
I gotta hand it to you. 5:48-6:20 is a well written phrase for the battery. Good job John Mapes or whomever
Yup! This was John Mapes' writing.
dude it must have been so hard for the judges to choose between this and mcm last resource
F___ING BRAVO! THAT WAS SICK! ALL OF IT!
PLATE FEATURE!!!!🤙
How i miss drumline wish i wouldve started earlier in highschool
omg!!! Ive never seen a competition like this before!!!!
amazing show
la verdad me dejo sorprendido la creatividad y la proyeccion
These guys can haunt my house. That'd be awesome.
Still the best show ever . In my opinion lmao
I know my drum line instructor was in it but I don’t know what drum he was 🤔
