Fraiser is the greatest sitcom american tv has ever made. Hilarious, brilliant, heartfelt, eminently rewatchable, and one of the few shows from its time to have long form storytelling despite episodic stories. Shows like Scrubs, How I Met Your Mother, and so many others only have the long form while episodic storytelling because of shows like Cheers and Fraiser. Things never reset back to square one.
I love this show, people say Seinfeld is the better show but i've convinced a few people that after watching Frasier that it really is the better show and the best sitcom of the 90's.
They are... totally different styles of sitcom. Frasier is more erudite, Seinfeld is more audacious. I think Seinfeld speaks to a more common, human experience but Frasier is more heartfelt and uplifting.
For me, I cared about the characters in Frazier even though I laughed at them. I laughed at Seinfeld but I never cared about the characters. Also for me, Frazier holds up better on multiple viewings.
I really enjoyed what you’ve done here, and immediately went looking for part two. While I would readily watch a second part, you’ve done an excellent job of roundly appreciating the show during part one. Frasier is without doubt my single most favorite TV series of all time, though I didn’t start watching it until after the run was completed. There have been six complete viewings so far, and countless single episode viewings. The level and consistency of writing has seldom been equaled.
Thank you for making this deep dive! I'm a '90 baby so a little bit older than you, but I didn't become a proper fan of Frasier until the year after it ended 🥲 since then I've watched it once a year, I even have a tattoo dedicated to it 😅 despite some aspects of the show not aging particularly well I still believe it's the greatest sitcom ever made. It makes me happy to see people newly discovering it some 20 years later.
i love and adore this show with my whole heart and it's so incredibly nice to see someone talk about it this indepth,, i will definitely stay tuned for part 2 !!! i hope to see more content like this from you in the future,, i've just subscribed,, i can't wait to watch the rest of your videos when it's not 4 in the morning !!!
As someone with ADHD, I could only imagine how difficult this video was to research, script, record, edit and maybe even post. Each part of the process presenting their own nuanced set of obstacles and barriers. But you did it, and I am so impressed with how it came out. And also, I noticed that there never was a Part 2 to this. And that’s okay. It could be life, it could be that crippling instinct to procrastinate in all things, it could be the ADHD medication shortage that got really bad around the time you posted this. I don’t know your reasons. But whether or not we get future installments to this series, you’ve already done enough. This is actually my favorite show and I’ve watched through it in its entirety well over 100 times. So believe me when I say that you’ve done well buddy.
writing on this show was beyond brilliant "Her lips said no, but her eyes said- read my lips." it was structured more like a 3 act stage play than a TV show, featuring a cast with incredible comedic timing
55:35 -Or as I would have said it: The show falls apart after N and D get together, their characters change, the dynamics change and I find myself not enjoying a whole lot of episodes after season 7.
Excellent analysis. The reviewer knows what they are doing. Informative and engaging whilst remaining concise, Audrey is a real talent, and I look forward to seeing more videos from them.
I watched the original run of these episodes with my mom, I was very small but it still made me laugh :) Glad there's a small Frasier renaissance happening.
You should know: You can get hearing-loss from low-constant noise as well as short loud noises. The human ear needs rest to be healthy just like everything else.
Such a great show - the guest characters were just as funny as the regulars. I loved his agent, Bebe. I think many were Broadway actors, like Brian Stokes Mitchell, who played his upstairs neighbour. In one episode, he flew I giant US Flag from his balcony so Frasier we stuck looking at the red and white stripes. "I feel like I'm trapped in a clown's pocket!" 🤣
Ahhh! Audrey, I can't watch this yet sob, my partner has been trying to get me to watch Frasier for years and if I spoiled myself he'd never forgive me. I promise I'll come back when I'm done hehe. Hope you get some rest before part 2 :)
Audrey this video is amazing!!! And so worth the wait!!! I can see that this series means a lot to you and it's always great to watch people talk about things they are passionate about. I admit I don't know anything much about Frasier but now having watched this video I'm intrigued. Also your jokes and insights about the characters are so good. (Loved the Male Karen joke, and that one shot from that other movie the actor was in, i think it really adds to the experience because you not only present the characters but add things from yourself and, I can really see that this means a lot to you) The work you put into this video really shows, I love the details that flew over my head the first time (like you cosplaying Martin at the beginning and in the later part of the video and Then I realized that the background is the set of the series, somehow it didn't occur to me before) and it's stuff like that that really adds to the experience of watching this video. Also I liked the exploration of the character dynamics in the later part it made me really interested in checking the series out. Thank you for sharing this, the time really flew by I did not notice that this is almost one hour long I had such a fun time watching it :D Good luck on part two, but also don't forget to take care of yourself
A fantastic presentation with detailed plot analysis and well researched individual character synopsis that explains and highlights the key elements of this amazing situation comedy called Frasier…thank you for all your hard work creating this and for sharing ✨
Excellent breakdown!! Fraiser is still my all time favorite show, both now and growing up….thank you! Btw, I just recently start watching Cheers, and it’s amazing…the writing and character development is brilliant. I use to hate the theme song as a little kid, now I sing it loudly with feeling!….sometimes when I’m not watching the show…lol
I guess part two hasn’t come out yet, but I’m so excited to see a video like this. I’ve actually wanted to do one myself for years and someday I still might if I get a decent computer because this is my favorite show of all time! I just upgraded to the Blu-ray for Christmas and was so happy! Excellent job keep up the great work!
I'm a millennial but when Frasier started I was only four years old. I must have been a weird kid because I loved the show. So a Gen z loving it warms my heart so much. Means it has lasting appeal
I've never seen Frasier and at the beginning of this video I was turned off by it because of how much of an unlikable person Frasier is but the further I got the more I started to appreciate it. Even though I've been spoiled on some big moments I think I'll still give it a watch despite this not being a show I'd typically watch. Props on all the work put into this video! It came along fantastically and I'm really looking forward to part 2. Good luck on it!
Frasier is my favorite sitcom, so I enjoyed hearing your take on it. Went to your page to watch the next video, only to find that you haven't been active in a year and a half. Please consider doing the part two you intended. In any event, thanks.
I am really impressed with your analysis of the show The tempo of your program it was really enjoyable and really factual I've seen other ones on Fraser that were laughable and you put a lot of time and work it's very insightful and informative great job
I was born in the year 2000, im 23 now and im the biggest fan of frasier and cheers. More so frasier, i love every single character from those shows. I think its one of the best sitcoms on television along with the underated show 3rd rock from the sun. Im on my second watch through of frasier, im on season 6. Frasier is my comfort show, even when ive had a rough day, i like to put it on and relax after work, even if i watch it for only an hour its really therapeutic for me.
Frasier being my favorite show, I thoroughly enjoyed this. I can’t wait for part 2❣️ Kelsey Grammar was my favorite character on Cheers. He’s absolutely brilliant ❤💕❤💕❤
Two things that make this continually watchable: 1. Timeless fashion and decor never feels dated vs. Seinfeld Cheers. 2. No current event references, i.e. anything NBC made during Covid or Murphy Brown.
I am happily surprised. This show is incredibly good (one of my faves), and I love hearing you talk about it. (Ngl Donny’s proposal was incredibly romantic, ah, I hope one day I get a romantic marriage proposal lmao.) Can’t wait for part 2!!⭐️
Your freckles are adorable lol I'm sorry, I was watching for 30 minutes and never noticed! Must be an articulate vision taking over! XD this show is great! The reboot... Has its charm but not the same robust nature.
Frasier was well written and skillfully acted. Kelsey Grammer is a great lead actor and has the powerful personality to carry the show The supporting actors are rock solid and support him well.
As someone who has watched all the way through both Cheers & Frasier, I personally think Frasier is the better show. I wouldn't say magnitudes of better. But it's better in my opinion. I do have certain qualms with Frasier. It's not my favourite sitcom ever. But comfortably top 10 I reckon.
"...no, that restaurant was still the dumbest." 😂 that lifetime achievement episode is so good (when the kid comes in for his make-up test), but then again 99% of the episodes are so much better than streaming bullshit today.
Been watching the show when it first started. Ahh…the good old days. I have great memories of those days. Now I am watching the reruns on you tube. I was a Cheers fan then when Frazier came in,I was hooked. I really have to get a life!
the last yr has easily been the toughest of my life and i wont lie my good friends Frase Nails and Marty helped a lot :3 aint no tellin how many times ive seen both this and cheers thru (and house m.d i guess ? lol)) very comfy video thank U
had pnemonia back in 2017, went from in a large tight at 235lbs after bootcamp in the navy. Mycivilians job was grass and boss had us cut in the rain to rush thursday and friday lawns, caught pnemonia, got down to 170lbs in 7weeks, fraser and in and out of a comatose like netflix sleep is all I knew those 7 weeks felt like purgartory, was worse than covid forsure for me. Fraser got me through it.

“We are not barbarians, not neanderthals, and we are not French!” My new favorite line.
I love this show so much, I grew up watching it and it’s just a comfort for me
Very 👍 true
Just backing up the chorus hoping you one day make a sequel. Enjoyed the casual style and always love more thoughts on this excellent show

This was excellent!
I'm here now looking for part 2 and to no avail. Perfect time to drop it with the revival coming out. 🤞🏻

Frasier is more erudite, Seinfeld is more audacious. I think Seinfeld speaks to a more common, human experience but Frasier is more heartfelt and uplifting.
@@Aldrius Agreed: both are excellent at what they do, and both very, very different.
Seinfeld has more ridiculous laughs, but frasier has way more heart.
@@Bow-to-the-absurd both good at showing how silly people can be. For sure that heart wasn't one of the priorities in "Seinfeld".
For me, I cared about the characters in Frazier even though I laughed at them. I laughed at Seinfeld but I never cared about the characters. Also for me, Frazier holds up better on multiple viewings.
I love this. Please tell me part 2 is coming. 🎉

What an apt video to see just after watching the series! Very well done! Very much hoping for a part 2! Please make a part 2😅
you know, I've been telling myself for years that I should watch Frasier. This might be the thing that finally gets me to do it.
Do it. It’s a perfect show
41:11 This episode is actually a LOT better once you've watched "Cheers" and realize it's recurring problem😂
Don’t know if part 2 is still coming, but I want it!
I know I'm necroposting, but a Frasier deep-dive with a kingdom hearts nod in the first few minutes?! This is my exact home!
Are you ever down to do a Part 2? This video is so comforting and you do a great job dissecting characters.
This is such a great video!! Frasier is my favorite show and you’ve definitely done it justice here!
Thank you for making this deep dive! I have never seen Frasier and now I'm thinking about changing that! I love Niles.
Wife and I have gone through Fraiser and Cheers so many times, and Fraiser is absolutely amazing.

Excellent analysis. The reviewer knows what they are doing. Informative and engaging whilst remaining concise, Audrey is a real talent, and I look forward to seeing more videos from them.
I watched this show growing up and love it, excellent job on this.
your a star, loved the Frasier show for years...
5:04 Is that Money Plane?? 😂😂😂
Awesome video!
The "What if we did Scarface on a 580 dollar budget?" -scene.

I've always had such a thing for Lilith
Yayyy!! I love super long deep dives like this! Great work so far!
**adds Fraiser to my list**
My new background/going to sleep video
Thank you

After all these years, I still crack up sometimes about that “Look Before You Leap” episode! 👍
Ham Radio is one of the greatest episodes in all tv history. It’s shear perfection. Frasier is a perfect show.

Frasier is one of my top 5 favorite shows. Never seen Cheers. Good video!
Hey this was great! Would love to see a part two!
I love Frasier. Really good work and excellent video!
This is exactly the kind of video I’ve been looking for!!!
Frasier is the best show ever! My daughters (born in 93 and 95) love it too! I’m like you, and have never watched an episode of Cheers. 😂
There are people that love "Fraiser", and those that don't are idiots.
Frasier was well written and skillfully acted. Kelsey Grammer is a great lead actor and has the powerful personality to carry the show The supporting actors are rock solid and support him well.

The Happy Brothers restaurant episode is perfection
I smile every time Eddie shows up. One of the great animal characters
loved! and you've got an audrey plaza thing going ;)
Niles & Roz feud is super
the last yr has easily been the toughest of my life and i wont lie my good friends Frase Nails and Marty helped a lot :3
aint no tellin how many times ive seen both this and cheers thru
(and house m.d i guess ? lol))
very comfy video thank U
Love this show and you seem like a nice person, thanks for this
I always wondered who they would cast as Maris if she would had appeared?
An Aubrey Plaza lookalike who chain watches Frasier. Well consider my salad tossed and my eggs well and truly scrambled.
Did part 2 ever come?
Love! Edge of my seat for part 2.
i was born in September 2001 and frasier is my favorite show of all time lol. also awesome job on this

Such a good video! Thank you
I have not watched this show but I’ve seen every deep dive
The politician who had an experience with aliens is a perfect episode
Love the show. Disagree with you about Frasier.
It wouldn't be funny if Frasier wasn't the way he was.
THE BEST character on Frasier is Frasier’s agent BeBe. That character is absolutely brilliant!
Brilliant,thank you,my favourite American comedy.
Great video!
And, ermm.. Where's that scene at 5:04 from?
I hope you'll take a look at the reboot
Heya, is part two coming? Or have you said your piece?
3:00 The entertainment-value of the show is conflict between characters in some way, and the fuel of conflict is often some sort of personal dysfunction. So as a result we often like watching the characters, but would not want to meet them, because they are dysfunctional and cannot learn too much from their mistakes, because that would be the end of the show. If I was Frasier, I would either accept Martin`s behaviour, or kick him out if he didnt get with the rules of my home. And that would end the conflict between me and Martin, which we want in real life but not in a show.
That song is written from Frank's zippity bop phase.
I've been putting in before bed I watch it everyday too. I thought I was the only weirdo
Very good video, I look forward to Part 2. Now, off you go...
she said “keyblade” and I subscribed
think i’m in love already
Gotta say, I didn’t expect much when I thought “I wonder if anyone is making videos about Frasier”
You dear have not disappointed. You’re subtle and hilarious
Veneer!
This is hillarious
I too believe that Roz would probably come out as bi later in life ! Great video essay and examination of the whole series. I hope you release part 2!
I watched Frasier constantly as a kid, and I love hearing other people discuss it. If you haven't already I'd highly recommend José's videos on Frasier and Cheers if you haven't seen them already!
If you want to see a MUCH more sympathetic and likeable Frasier I suggest you watch Cheers. He starts off much the same way he is in the spinoff, but continued misfortune and the support of the Cheers gang loosens him up considerably. It's mentioned a couple of times that moving back home and his continued pursuit of fame have regressed him greatly as he now has an image to maintain that he didn't have when he was just one of the guys.
Don't be sorry, i love your whistle
