- One of the best TV comedies EVER..Frasier....So well written...and what a cast....Playing Frasier's neurotic brother Niles...award winning actor David Hyde Pierce...I was with the show in its last week of production...a special time....
In part due to his close physical resemblance to Kelsey Grammer, the producers of the Cheers spin-off Frasier created the role of Niles Crane (Frasier Crane's younger brother) for him. Although prior to Frasier going into production, Pierce had petitioned the Screen Actors Guild to change his billing to David Pierce, the name he had used on the stage, the use of his middle name in the show's credits helped reinforce the actor's and the character's "snooty" image. For his work on Frasier, Pierce was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Emmy a record eleven consecutive years, winning in 1995, 1998, 1999 and 2004.
And people are still watching re-runs in 2021. We have it here in the UK on channel 4 every morning (and I still wish I lived in Fraiser's apartment).
I absolutely love this man! So much talent in terms of actors, writers and supporting actors. Best sitcom ever
Such a great show! I never watched DH PIerce in his own "persona" before, and I can almost forget that he "is" Niles. Perfect casting throughout (including Eddie), wonderful writing. The golden days of TV sitcoms.
This show was great I remember one time I was stuck at a radio station for 3 months, night's and day's because of a lighting storm that had damaged almost everything and in the few breaks I would always put this show on and they kept me going and became my family in those long hard days.
Laugh out loud program. I miss it 😕
Thank you for uploading this. One of the best shows ever made.
Wouldn't it be amazing to be able to watch the whole process behind the scenes seeing them work problems and adjust things. They're all so talented!
Why David Hyde Pierce was never cast as a psychotic vilain in a big budget action/thriller movie, I'll never know.
First comment? It was interesting to see Kelsey Grammer acting like the director rather than the actor.
And he won't do the reboot...so nobody left to join in except maybe Perri Gilpin?
Live the show
3:45 is...is that Seth Rogans laugh?👀
Hey! First Comment... um.... hmmm.... ah.... have a nice day?
