- Earlier this week, Caleb (@curiousrefuge ) and I did a live stream from the Hollywood Professional Association Show. We had a LOT of audio issues, so I decided to take the stream down, but see if we could salvage the audio via Adobe Podcast.
While I wouldn't call the result Studio Quality, it is for sure far more listenable than the original version. Ultimately. I think this show served as a really interesting snapshot of where AI is in Hollywood right now, and where Hollywood is with AI.
We're also joined early in by film composer Isy Lauf for an interesting discussion on the use of AI in the soundtrack world!

Haha, be glad you did miss the live! That was some pretty horrific audio!
And 100% all eyes on Sora. But, I stand by my conviction we won’t see it until late this year.

It's super crazy. I did have to dip back to "standard" audio a few times, because apparently podcast will just make up some garbage words if it can't hear you-- which, actually, just kind of makes you sound drunk. But it really was just that little bit in the beginning of her interview-- after that, smooth sailing!

Oh thank you! I’ve tried to automate, but it always gets the timestamps wrong. Generally what I’ll do is use automation to get suggested topic breaks, and then I’ll go back and manually add the timestamps.
So, hilariously: AI does the higher level stuff, while I’m over here doing the manual labor! Haha

Haha, so sorry the audio was so terrible live! When I finally got a chance to go back and listen to it, I was pretty horrified! Haha-- thanks for watching the train wreak though! At least now this is up for the archive! And, I really wanted to make sure the discussion got out there, in particular Izy's thoughts on AI and film scoring. It was really interesting to hear thoughts from a working pro!

Did you see the live stream? Wasn't it your comment that was like: Run it through Adobe Podcast! I mean, I'm really beyond impressed with how it saved the audio. Izy (the composer) got a little choppy, namely because her mic was so far away and I was getting those little digital glitches that Podcast will give you, but other than that-- I mean...It's pretty insane.

Can you believe how much better the audio is? I'm stunned. It got a little rough on Izy's part at the beginning, but that's only because the mic was so far away from her. Once we get past some initial glitches, it's pretty much smooth sailing. It's crazy how good Adobe Podcast is.

The Audio? I mean...did you hear the original? It was...horrific. And yeah, this isn't studio quality (by far) but for me, I'll always take interesting content over fidelity.
(I mean, there's the question of this being interesting...but that's a whole other topic.)
