I must have been 10 yrs old as I walked into "Brashs" ( you aussies will know what i'm talking about), and buying the Man of Colours album in the first year that the "Compact Disc" was released. The hardest part was having to wait til you got home to play it, car cd players hadn't been invented yet. Made it all so much more authentically exciting. So many family members borrowed that cd until the day it came back jumping & skipping during the start of "The Kingdom". A little toothpaste did the trick. What a time, what a group, what an inspiration that kept me playing piano/keys. Thanks Icehouse!
This would have to be the most beautiful song ive heard in such a long time!!....that sax playing just blows your mind!! Unbelievable magic!! Australia has undoubtedly the BEST music, grabs your soul. God bless all our Australian Musicians PAST ,PRESENT AND FUTURE!! ICE HOUSE- CLASSIC BAND Thank-you guys....
A shy Kiwi girl listening to their music "Man of colours" & "Primitive man" as a teen and allowing my emotions to come to the fore when falling in and out of love...memories of heartache and of healing...thanks Flowers and Ice House. )(
I so wish I was there in person to see this concert. I was in awe the whole way through with the production being a live gig. The vocals from the young kid were just mind blowing. He was just AMAZING & did it beautifully/justice. The fellow on the sax was brilliant!! All of it was!! My cousin has followed Flowers then Icehouse from the start. I’m 39 now & most people my age no doubt probably wouldn’t listen to them (my husband does like me). But I have enjoyed ever single Flowers & Icebouse song & I think they are one of the best artists Australia has ever seen. Their songs speak to me & move me like music should.
Absolutely awesome song...one of my favourite Icehouse tracks that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end everytime i listen to it!!...truly brilliant!!
For me this about broken friendships. People who have turned on me. Treated me like I am nothing. Like I never existed. Helping others? No. I don't believe anymore!
Saw this great song in Christchurch New Zealand, in 88 in the Town Hall, which was badly damaged in the 2011 earthquake, such a great place for a concerts, heading back there next month to see a concert, can't wait
Out of every song by Ice House. This Song I can Never hear enough. It's still great to listen to after all these years. Best time to listen is alone in your car late at night driving through your favourite city. Must be turned up LOUD 😁 That Sexaphone 👌
Reminds me of someone who broke my heart when I was 24, I used to play this and cry. Now I don't care but this is still one of the best songs ever in my life.
I come across this video every six months or so, and stop to listen. I instinctively go to hit the ThumbsUp button, only to realize I've already done that. I wish I could give it multiple thumbs up!
My wife and I saw them in Jan 2014. I know it might sound over the top. But there live sound is better than the studio sound. Saw them at the Crown Palms, incredible performance.
It's not just the performance of the band, and especially this song, that was great with this 'moshcam' concert on UA-cam. The mixing/sound quality etc of this recording is also IMHO first class. They've captured the feel/vibe/sound etc of a live concert brilliantly and have done the band justice (having seen Icehouse at another venue on this 'tour'). Again this is only my personal opinion!
Went to a concert recently and Iva made a point of saying that they hire the best tech's in the business and book shows a year out to ensure they can get them all. Your opinion is 100% spot on
Joe Camilleri wrote, recorded and performed the original saxaphone parts...glad to hear the sax player never strayed from the original melody lines. Classic song.
Wow ivan davies... sounds brilliant.such a great Australian band...great talent...still great to listen two...just like alot of Aussie talent...superb....
Love the new member Michael and the Sax in this song rips tunes that's makes being old school cool. Good day from a Oregonian. Love our music day after day.

Hi from Sydney. Great comment! I remember Brashes. I wish I'd known the toothpaste trick to save my old cd's. Still listening to this track today.
Tony Barber says Hi.
Their best hit. Yet barely made the Top 40. Incredible
Like a fine wine, Iva just gets better with age. Iva is the penultimate rock guru legend. Have followed Icehouse since 1985.

An older Chap myself, I first saw them as Flowers in 1979,before they changed to Icehouse.😁👍
So nice that the bass is fretless, like the original Guy Pratt. That really makes this song.
I love icehouse and iva love this song very smooth and beautiful
