A nice video. Looking forward to seeing these SSJ's at London City Airport. That did seem remarkably quiet and very powerful. I also liked the clarity of the cabin announcements. Great video.
As the plane was traveling down the runway I could not help but notice the grass and weeds growing around the airport. Evidently they don't own lawnmowers and weed eaters in that part of the world.
That was the first thing i noticed too... and apparently runway and taxiway repairs are not a high priority either... and the 'Fire department' looked very high-tech also...
The cleanest Windows I have ever seen on an aircraft. Looked quite large windows too. Nice steady recording. Good job. The leading edge of the wings were not retracted until velocity and altitude was quite high. That runway surface...dang.
Anyone else notice the two radars at about 3:00? Wouldn't the stationary sail block/deflect returns to the active sail? I suppose they are short range airfield radars so power of returns is strong but ...?
That's one fucked up runway..... still the take-off run appeared smooth and the climb was also steady. The SSJ-100 seems to be underrated just because it's Russian. Arkhangelsk is by no doubt one of the best places in Russia w.r.t. scenery.
Well, Russian airfields have runways made like this for one reason: ease of repair in case of an attack by anti-runway weapons. You see the same thing at many Chinese airports.
Interesting that the slats were fully extended. That obviously brought the takeoff time down from normal. Even more interesting is how long they stayed extended after takeoff.
The SSJ is one sexy aircraft. I really like the look of it, more western countries should purchase this aircraft. It's a great plane for a great price. If i was rich and would be looking for a business jet, this is what i would purchase. I could have three times the plane, for half the price of western built business jets, like Cessna, Learjet, Gulfstream...
Nice lines on that aircraft and it appears to be well built. I can't help but wonder why the airport seems to be in such horrible shape. That runway seemed to be in dire need of maintenance as the bumpy ride reflected.
The initial climb was remarkably shallow, the slats stayed extended for a long time, and the engines seemed to be working too hard, above 95% power perhaps. I would guess the airplane was overloaded.
hifijohn, nice eye))) winglets on regional flights are not required. average flight time is 1.43 h. manufacturers do not want to take risks, and winglets are available as options.
Search Google Maps. It's right here: www.google.com/maps/place/Arkhangelsk,+Arkhangelsk+Oblast,+Russia/@64.5409141,40.3509082,8.62z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x441833f755c232e1:0x403eec437ac89a31!8m2!3d64.5472507!4d40.5601553
If they don't have the resources to perform rudimentary maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, then they likely don't have funds for more important maintenance tasks such as runway repairs and tower facilities either.
Kevin Oliver, when the pd-14 will be ready to debut. The ssj-100 will be more Russian then French ))) only hot part of engine is the French. And of course some avionics.
Er, I don't know where you get that idea from . The Trent, and the GE , have nearly 4 times the thrust of these PowerJet engines, at between 60,000 and 76,000 pounds static thrust according to variant
@cstoreyqc, don't you just love it when people like *lenny108* just make up shit and throw it out there hoping people will believe them? Thank you for correcting him!
Whatever. Remember - the Russians still used a rotary dial telephone well into the 1990's. This thing cannot compare to Boeing, Rolls Royce, or any other US, German or UK jet company. They are 20 years behind any technology.
Superjet 100 aircrafts competitor Embraer and Bombardier. The plane is not inferior to the fuel efficiency of other aircraft in its class, certified to fly in Europe and the United States. Compete with 737MAX and 321NEO will be Irkut MC-21, which is also the fuel efficiency is not inferior to competitors. By the way do you aware that Russia is developing a forepart, wings and engine pylons 787?
_the Russians still used a rotary dial telephone well into the 1990's_ *So what? Some people still do this because they like this old telephones.Even in the UK for example.* _This thing cannot compare to Boeing, Rolls Royce, or any other US, German or UK jet company. Surfercurtis since u are an aircraft designer since last night .. the same aircraft u just mentioned have been certified by the same plp who certified this one
Good lord these engines are powerful!
By the time he's done taxiing, he'll be at the destination.

A lot of Russia's airfields are like that. But the operations staff and pilots probably factor that in.
This is one of the most abandoned cities of Russia because of corruption and criminals. So this condition of the airfield is not surprisingly.
i'd say so... you know you have laded in a bad airport when the runway needs mowed...
it looks nice with all that grass though
Such a fast and smooth takeoff
nice sound from the engine and good jet , i like !
Nice! Airport looks a little secondhand.
Well, look at the planes parked on the tarmac: IL-18, AN-24, etc
Hahahaha,how delicate
old soviet airfield meets new sukhoi superjet
Its called under construction.
The cleanest Windows I have ever seen on an aircraft. Looked quite large windows too. Nice steady recording. Good job. The leading edge of the wings were not retracted until velocity and altitude was quite high. That runway surface...dang.
Sounds like the good ole JT3C/D and JT8D.
Being a Russian guy, I had never flown on a SSJ
But! I enjoy the sound of such engines.
That thing had some speed before rotation!
rubiconned, you right. Engine is so powerful and stable.
I love the engines buzz, it resembles power.
love the huge wingflex, given the short span
Why do they keep the leading edge flaps down for so long ?
Anyone else notice the two radars at about 3:00? Wouldn't the stationary sail block/deflect returns to the active sail? I suppose they are short range airfield radars so power of returns is strong but ...?

Smooth...
Very quiet small airport, my kind of airport, no crowds
Vídeo espetacular, lugar lindo, um verdadeiro show de imagens, parabéns! A proposito, qual a câmera que você usou, as imagens dela são fantásticas.
Sukhoi superjet 🎖👏👏
Wonderful and more 'this
Category for continental trips
I will try my best to:)
Holy crap that thing is powerful. What airline?
Surprised to see that the LE devices (and presumably flaps too?) weren't retracted until they were already quite high up.
Anyhow, nice video!
wing and engine reminds me of a 737-200.
Interesting that the slats were fully extended. That obviously brought the takeoff time down from normal. Even more interesting is how long they stayed extended after takeoff.
You can see them back @ 10:05
yes, a long time after takeoff.
Might be something specific for current airport/takeoff route.
I've seen many Russian videos with abnormal flap configuration/use.. Is there real reasons or just the character behaviour in general???
Interesting, air-clips, are these new engines used for domestic roughts or international, distance speed etc. Les.
Good aerodynamics and clime, not bad.
good video. nice aircraft.
The airport tarmac looks like it's seen better days...
Is he flying or driving to its destination ?
Kinda has a Trent "buzz".

very quiet engine

awesome engines great power not as loud as i thought as seatguru basically made it sound as if you would go deaf the second they throttle up
Philippines has a fleet of sukhoi fighterjet
Where is this?
read the fuckin description
Arkhangelsk, Russia
Wow the Airport Looks like IT isnt used for a few years IT Looks like an 2nd WW Airport
I wonder why did it not use the other taxi way and instead used the entire runway.
no winglets ???
Russian made tu204 used winglets before airbus and boeing
no
hifijohn, nice eye))) winglets on regional flights are not required. average flight time is 1.43 h. manufacturers do not want to take risks, and winglets are available as options.
Very cool!
and slats retrats when?
It's certainly a powerful jet engine...
Wow that"s power. Listen to those turbines sing.
I saw IL 18 airplanes in the beginning
25 seconds to take off. Not bad.
Seems really quiet
Awesome........................
Well maintained airport I don't think.
arch Angels ? Where is that TKS.

5800 rpm
Haha, the runway is so tough!
omg, what a place, in the middle of nothing but should be very interesting
The Plane Is Very Fast
OK,OK,PARABIENS,PARABÉNS,UMA BELÍSSIMA FILMAGEM,DIFÍCIL VER UMA ASSIM,FILMAGEM MUI LINDA
Plane still drives pilot in Russia?
mowed grass don't make airplane fly.
If they don't have the resources to perform rudimentary maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, then they likely don't have funds for more important maintenance tasks such as runway repairs and tower facilities either.
its just grass
Beautifull russian aircraft.
+Art Haughey Wow, you realy hate Russia.
***** I just think that Russia is a beautiful and strong country. That's my opinion and i respect yours.
супер
Hope it's more French than Russian...
ask nasa if russian made stuff is safe to use
If you ask me, russian rockets, weapons, planes and vodka are great but never buy russian cars))) NEVER.
Why?UAZ Patriot is pretty good car.
Kevin Oliver, when the pd-14 will be ready to debut. The ssj-100 will be more Russian then French ))) only hot part of engine is the French. And of course some avionics.
More powerful than GEnx jet engine that powers Boeing 787. Only thing, GEnx is a little bit quieter.
Er, I don't know where you get that idea from . The Trent, and the GE , have nearly 4 times the thrust of these PowerJet engines, at between 60,000 and 76,000 pounds static thrust according to variant
uhhhh...are you nuts?????
Please tell me you're joking. LMAO
Love_all_things Aviation nah man, hes right. these things makes like 500,000lbs of thrust each. The acceleration is like warp speed..

Ты бы дурачок поменьше смотрел местное ТВ со страшилками о России....
I think Boeing was actually part of the development of the Sukhoi Superjet.
Surfercurtis since u are an aircraft designer since last night .. the same aircraft u just mentioned have been certified by the same plp who certified this one
Bullshit.... look at the paint scheme. This is a Southwest Airlines 737 from Kansas City to Nashville.
